"Is everyone ready?" Kyle asked as his head looked over to everyone else. He wanted to see the determination in their eyes and he was not disappointed by what he saw.
Only a few hours had passed since Arashi evolved into the three tailed fox. His original size was that of a one-meter tall fox, who had an iron-piercing strong black horn protruding out of his forehead, stone-crushing teeth, and razor-sharp claws.
His three fluffy tails were long and they had the special function to control the winds around him subconsciously.
This was very interesting, especially because it made things much easier for all of them. After all, Arashi could stay situated on Kyle's shoulder while simultaneously supporting Jaden's flight through the air.
It was as if Jaden run through the air instead of flying, which looked quite funny at first but it was very usefully.
"Yes, let's leave this shithole," Jaden just said as he soared in the air. The others looked at him oddly before their head turned to Selene.
"I-I didn't teach him to speak so vulgarly!!" Selene tried to excuse herself but the others just began to laugh before they soared in the air as well.
They flew in one direction, with a particular goal in mind; the forbidden forest.
The forbidden forest was their goal and to reach it, they would have to travel through the Nasga race's tribal territory, for a bunch of weeks.
Maybe it would take a month, maybe longer, or possibly shorter.
They didn't know the correct answer but in the given circumstance, it was definitely best for them to travel as fast as possible.
The Nasga out of the tribal territory would soon launch a large-scale attack at the Glacia kingdom. In that period, it would be the easiest to pass through the tribal territory because the strongest fighters of the Nasga race would participate in the war.
Kyle and the others didn't plan this to happen but it was certainly advantageous. Soaring high in the air, they choose an altitude where they could hardly be discovered. They made it more difficult for others to find them, while preventing to fligh too high, attracting the attention of powerful aerial beasts.
Time passed slowly, and it looked like they wouldn't encounter any problems in the air. Not many aerial beasts were in their direction and with the use of his Nurture ability's sight, it was quite easy for them to evade their opponents.
However just when they crossed the borders to the tribal territory of the Nasga race for a bit more than half a day, something unexpected happened.
Kyle's expression turned extremely pale, and his eyes widened in terror as he saw something ahead of him.
"Eh…I think we have to descend…" He just said, not wanting to add anything else. Yet, when he noticed that the others didn't follow him he clenched his fists before he finally added, "...if you guys want to survive the next half an hour…"
After he said this, Kyle dived down at a ninety degrees angle. The others looked at each other in confusion before they followed him without another word.
Arashi yelped out in surprise as they landed on the ground and Aurora appeared out of her Sprite Armor.
"Is what I saw true?!" Aurora suddenly squealed out, her entire body quivering. She could see what Kyle and Arashi saw when she turned into their Sprite armor. That was also why she was quivering, and why her entire being was overwhelmed in fear.
"What exactly did you see, to begin with? Didn't we want to avoid landing on the ground because the Nasga could catch us at any time here? After all, they're literally the most knowledgable about the environment on their own territory??" Yasmine asked, not quite understanding what caused Kyle to be so afraid.
"Well, how about you look in this direction with your eyes' trait fully unleashed? I think you will understand that the Nasgas on the ground is our smallest problem…" Kyle just said before quietly adding, "I wonder if the Glacia kingdom will survive this catastrophe…"
Even if Kyle spoke quietly it was not hard for Cultivators at the Krysal stage to hear him. Everyone looked in the direction Kyle pointed at. Yasmine's eyes were glowing brightly and her expression changed as quickly as Kyle's had changed the moment she saw what awaited them.
"Just how many are there? And…what the hell are these things, to begin with?!" Yasmine asked in horror. She could barely control her voice and her body began to shiver as well.
"These things…are not normal. I can tell that they're neither alive nor dead, but their entire existence is filled with filth…They're even worse than the Nasga…but they seem to be controlled by the Nasga race…" Yasmine mumbled something incomprehensible. Only Kyle could understand what she meant while the others looked at them stupefied.
"We can only see dark clouds on the horizon. Come on, tell us what is going on!!" Beatrice demanded hurriedly. Through her blood pact with Kyle, she could clearly feel his fear. It was clearly perceptible but she didn't know what was the cause for his fear.
This bothered her extremely, which was why she was acting up.
"There is a horde of flying….beasts in front of us. Hundreds of thousand of them. I couldn't make out their appearance but the nurturing ability clearly reveals that these aerial beasts are contagious, dangerous to almost all kinds of lifeforms and they're fast. However, the worst is that each of these aerial beasts is controlled by a Nasga, who rides them…" Kyle explained neatly.
The situation was weird, and he couldn't exactly explain what was going on, but he could tell that it was the most dangerous to stay in the air as long as even one of these weird existences was present.
"They're dark-green in color, have pitch-black blisters all over their body, and their breath and the burst open blisters are very harmful. I noticed that one of the Nasgas died when the blisters exploded, releasing some sort of green fog…." Yasmine suddenly said. Her eyes were different from Kyle's while she could see far, and even detect some sort of unique things in the bloodline of others, Kyle was mostly known for seeing the development paths of other existences. The stronger they were already developed the easier it was for him to see them from further away.
"These aerial beasts are also at the Mid ranks of the Krysal stage… each of them," Kyle added his body shuddering whenever he looked high up in the air.
"Soo….what are we going to do now? We should conceal our energy and rest, right?" Jaden asked, looking at the others in concern.
They just nodded their head before a deep sigh escaped Selene's mouth.
"It's good that we escape these weird flying beasts, but it looks like the Glacia kingdom will cease to exist the moment these beasts attack from the air. The border cities are fully focused on ground attacks, and they won't even be able to block the aerial beasts. At most, they can try a few things but that would be it…" Selene sounded frustrated, and the others could understand them.
Even if they didn't have much contact with the Aldra in the border city of the Glacia kingdom, whenever they had an encounter with any of them, it was rather pleasant. The Aldra of the Glacia kingdom was completely different from the Thunderclaw kingdom or other Aldras.
"But it's not like we can do anything. Facing these beasts in the air would be suicidal and we cannot run back to the Glacia kingdom to warn everyone. We don't have enough time for this. These beasts would already be at the border city the moment we arrive there.
Furthermore, it's not like anyone could prepare a new type of defense just like that…" Beatrice said all of a sudden, her fist smashing against the nearest stone. They were hiding in the middle of a small cliff. Not a single powerful beast was nearby, which made it easier for them to act unhindered.
"The only thing we can do is wait and hope. I don't want the Glacia kingdom to cease to exist, and I don't believe that the entire kingdom will fall so easily. However, the future is unknown, and we can never know what will happen.
Who knows? Maybe our lovely stalker might dislike these filthy aerial beasts as well? She might kill them if she doesn't like being close to them?" Kyle smiled wryly trying to ease everyone's tension.
However, it hardly worked. Only at the comment of their stalker were the others a bit affected.
"She is still behind us? Is she just bored or what the hell is she waiting for??"
