"Oh, you know the race I choose?" The Guild Master seemed to be astonished.
Bearheart Barbarians were not well known and most races would consider them ordinary beasts. The Guild Master was a thin bipedal Black bear, whose arms were literally claws. To create a Bearheart Barbarian image in the mind, the best way to do so was to imagine what a halfling between a BlackBear and a Minotaur would look like.
They didn't look like any 'ordinary' race, especially because their senses were exceptional and the fact that their wild instincts were often able to overpower their reasonability.
Unfortunately, this didn't seem to be the case with the Guild Master, otherwise, his wild instincts would have pulled him through the Lost Arc by now.
The Guild Master was exceptional at controlling his senses, which was also the reason why he had been able to control himself.
"Well, it doesn't really matter, even if you know the race I choose to reincarnate as. You already awakened the Lost Arc, so your job is done," The Guild Master spoke calmly before he began to laugh once again.
"To be honest, I never expected you to be the key to open the Lost Arc. That is ridiculous because I almost told Quetzi to incinerate you when she found you, the youngest of the Old Souls, in the middle of the shithole called Sadorla Forest. I should actually thank myself for being smart enough to let you live, and of course, you for opening the Lost Arc," The Guild Master kept laughing and Kyle couldn't help but frown deeply.
He was pretty sure that the situation was not worth laughing at. Kyle's entire body was tensed up as he stood in the middle of the Hall of the Gods, right in front of the Guild Master. He could tell that his situation was definitely not good and Kyle didn't want to die. There was still a bit of hope but Kyle was pretty sure that it was for naught.
'Just kill me and leave…' He thought inwardly while trying to hide his frown
"I should actually reward you…" The Guild Master said before he shook his head as he added, "...but you are way too dangerous to be left alive. How do you want to die? I can give you a nice death, at the very least, don't you think so?" The Guild Master's words were terrifying but he spoke calmly and in a tone that made it seem as if he was doing Kyle a favor.
"But…I don't want to die?" Kyle answered, tilting his head. He didn't really feel the fear of dying right now. This was weird because he could tell that the Guild Master was serious with his words. He would definitely kill Kyle, and Kyle knew that.
But the thought that it would only be temporary was something that soothed Kyle's fear that prevented him from feeling actual fright of death.
And that was something the Guild Master noticed as well.
"You look quite confident and calm considering that you are a dead man…not bad, but let me tell you a secret…that is dumb as well. You are stupid!" The Guild Master shook his head as if he was talking to a three-year-old, attempting to teach him something.
He only began to smile devilishly when he realized that he could cause Kyle to feel true fear and that he could see Kyle's genuine reaction to the bitter truth.
"Little brother….Don't you know that only someone, who cultivates their Soul can open the Gate that leads to the Lost Arc? Knowing that some weird techniques exist on Shima, why should I even bother to destroy your mortal body if you are one of the few cultivators, who focused on the strengthening of your soul?… I will destroy your soul, my little brother!!" While speaking the Guild Master could hardly contain his laugh.
He clearly saw how Kyle's flawless face turned ashen white, how his eyes were slowly filled with desperation, and the realization that the Guild Master knew exactly what Kyle would attempt the moment Kyle's mortal body was 'killed'.
"W-What?!" Kyle could only ask, his voice quivering when the realization struck him
"Now you are afraid, aren't you? Isn't it funny that I figured out what you planned to do the moment I looked at you? You are so easy to look through. That's almost cute," The Guild Master said laughing once again before he took a minute or two to calm down and turn serious once again, "...Either way, I waited over two hundred thousand years for this opportunity. These fucking Ancients will get to know my rage, and you won't be able to hold me back!
They will fear me once I return from the Fallen Olymp. And all of that is thanks to you….I will reward you with a quick death," The Guild Master's eyes turned ice-cold as he stared at Kyle and golden emergy compressed within his claws.
The golden energy was compressed in a bolden ball, which made Kyle recall a series from his past life all of a sudden.
'Fuck…' He could only think as his eyes widened in terror. He could clearly perceive the paths of developments around the ball of darkness and was able to decipher some of them as well.
"Say goodbye to your Soul, I'm sorry….or not!" The Guild Master laughed as he circulated more and more of his energy inside the golden ball that was about to overload. All the energy would be released in Kyle's direction and it was obvious what would happen after.
'The golden beam will kill Arashi!!' Kyle understood quickly.
When Kyle realized this, he didn't hesitate a second to use his entire soul force, Arashi's soul force, and Aurora's whole power ot summon as many winds as possible.
Instead of saving his mortal body, it was much more important for Kyle to rescue Arashi. The Spirit Soul would die the moment the golden beam touched it. It was a Soul-destroying beam, fired by a being two stages higher than Arashi and it was obvious that it would be impossible for the Spirit Soul to survive this.
With a heavy heart and seemingly endless fear in his eyes. Kyle threw Arashi out of his Soul Vessel. With all the winds around him, he blasted Arashi away from him as fast as possible.
Arashi was catapulted away the moment the Guild Master released the golden beam. It pierced through Kyle without injuring him in the slightest. Only a faint smile on Kyle's face could be seen as the Guild Master comprehended what had just happened.
"Ohh, so you are one of these bastards… That makes it even funnier!"
The golden beam disappeared and the Guild Master's claws were enmantled in a golden color before he disappeared in front of Kyle.
"Where the hell did he go?" Kyle shouted out, sensing that something bad was about to happen. His heart was beating rapidly, and cold sweat poured down his back. He had just used his entire energy to blast Arashi more than a kilometer in a different direction, through the only tunnel that was long enough.
Arashi could use numerous small tunnels to escape the Guild Master, Kyle was sure of that. However, the moment Kyle felt that the winds around him died down, a terrifying strong draft of wind splashed on his back pushing him forward.
"Looks like you are stronger than I expected. Maybe, it is because I'm so old and that I didn't use my whole strength for quite a while but your little Spirit Soul is truly fast. You are not bad as well, of course. In the end, your plan was pretty decent and you've just underestimated me.
Didn't you think that someone was just waiting for you to open the Gate to the Lost Arc? You even activated the Lost Arc for me, isn't that nice of you? If not for the Lost Arc and the opportunity to enter the Fallen Olymp, why should I have stayed in the Shalivra valley, always near the Forbidden Forest, to begin with? I wasted over a hundred thousand years waiting for you.
But it was good timing for you to arrive. This bitch, Vivian died so she cannot kill me anymore, and I don't need to hide anymore. I wish I could find her corpse, this would strengthen me a lot as well…sigh…" The Guild Master spoke a lot as he returned to Kyle.
However, Kyle couldn't care less about any of the words the Guild Master said. He stared at Arashi, who was wiggling in the Guild Master's claws, incapable of escaping.
'What am I supposed to do now…?'
