Chapter 94: Techno-Cosmic Union and Patents (1)

The entire registration procedure as an Imperial Aristocrat was extremely lengthy, time-consuming, and very consuming. He was rather satisfied that he managed to complete the entire procedure, no matter how tiring it was and how arduous the entire process was.

After the entire process was finished and Arcturus was officially the Imperial Aristocrat of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, there were not many things that he needed to immediately take care of, aside from going to the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy for the admission tests that would be at this point more formality than anything else.

Right now, Arcturus had the social status of the Imperial Aristocrat, which was the lowest noble title that one could obtain within the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, yet even having the lowest title of nobility within the Phoenix Empire was already far better than nothing.

Compared to the standard citizenship, there were plenty of other rewards included in being an Imperial Noble. Even though Arcturus didn't have any fief or personal territory, as that one was reserved only for the Planetary Lord, and to be promoted to the Planetary Lord was rather tricky.

One way was to be awarded the title directly from the nation by achieving something great that would warrant the EMpire to award him the Rank of the Planetary Lord and also the Planet as his personal fief.

The second method would be much simpler but no less complicated, and it would usually involve buying some planet as his personal property. Afterward, he could start developing the Planet itself, and when it was sufficiently developed, only then would he be eligible to be elevated to the Planetary Lord.

So, essentially, both methods had their pros and cons.

However, for the time being, Arcturus wasn't in a hurry to upgrade his Aristocratic Title because he was content with what he had at the time being.

Even as the lowest ranking Imperial Nobiltiy, he already got many benefits in the tax cuts, preferential treatment from the Imperial Institutions and Governmental Institutions, and preferential access to the Merit Lits and Exchange Rates, so he was rather satisfied with this.

He took the Codex of Imperial Conduct, Codex of Duties and Privileges of the Imperial Aristocrat, and other Codexes that were given to him by the Head Archivist in the Bureau of Imperial Citizenship: Department of the Imperial Aristocrats and stored them in his pockets.

As he was storing away, he seriously pondered whether he should have already bought Dimensional Storage Equipment because it was rather inconvenient to store everything in the pockets of his clothing and armor.

Of course, the most important thing was the Deed of the Nobility and Token of the Imperial Aristocracy, which served as proof of his newfound status. Those were the items that he would need to always carry with him anywhere he went because they guaranteed his status as one of the Imperial Nobles of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya.

Obviously, the tattoo that was engraved on his right hand and shining with the electric-blue color was also the clear giveaway. Obviously, even among the other Imperial Nobles, he had a rather high status because he was the 1st-Generation Highborne Asuryani.

"Then the congratulations are in the place, Lord Crawford."

Star Knight Neros Thoran congratulated Arcutrus on his successful registration as a member of the Imperial Nobility. Technically speaking, his social status was right now equal to his own, if not higher for him being the 1st-Generation Highborne Asuryni.

However, it was also to be noted that the members of the Imperial Knight Order had a very special status within the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, and even average members had the same social status as most of the Imperial Aristocrats.

Within the Eternal Empire, everyone was the same noble according to the Imperial Law; there were the Imperial Aristocrats, only the Highborne Asuryani had a bit more special status, and those who were of the 1st-Generational, 2nd-Generational, and 3rd-Generational Highborne Asurynai were further distinguished from the rest.

"Now that you have completed the registration process as the Imperial Aristocrat and also gained the Imperial Citizenship, we will be responsible for escorting your to the Imperial Phoenix Military Academy tomorrow for the special admission tests. Till now, you are free to move around the city, of course, under the protection detail."

Star Knight Neros Thoran after a short time, because he was strictly ordered by the Lord Padishah-Marshall Ardyn Tiberries to guard Arcturus at any cost and never let him leave his sight.

He was one of the strongest Imperial Knights in the entire Imperial Knight Order, so he was rather surprised and, at the same time, not very pleased to be assigned guard duty for someone who barely became a Psyker.

That would be his foundation in endless money-making, so he needed to protect it as soon as possible and inform himself of the process of the patens and their protection around the Andromeda Galaxy and the rest of the known universe.

"There are two possibilities for that... we can either go to the Administratum to fill for the patent, but that would be mostly applicable only with the territorial space of the Eternal Empire of the Asurya, or we can directly apply for the patent from the Techno-Cosmic Union.

Coincidentally, the Techno-Cosmic Union has branches in the capital cities of every High-Level Civilzition across the Cosmos."

The Dark Matter Engines that the Red Queen has designed were named R.Q. Dark Matter Engine MK I., R.Q. standing for the Red Queen as her initials because Arcturus wanted to honor the Artificial Intellignece as the ultimate creator of the new Dark Matter Engines designs.

"Can't the Imperial Administratum handle the matter for me? It would be more convenient in that way to use my status within the Empire to back up my application, or it doesn't really matter?"

Arcturus asked the Imperial Knight as they were walking through the halls of the Administratum, which seemed to be an endless labyrinth of corridors, rooms, places, and god knows what else.

"It won't really matter.

When the Techno-Cosmic Union opes the Branches in the High-Level Civilization, they will sign up for specially treated with the said High-Level Civilitzaton in which the Techno-Cosmic Union will acknowledge all claims and requirements from the already mentioned High-Level Civilization, and in turn the High-Level Civilization will support the Techno-Cosmic Union with the military aid, powerhouse aid and resource aid when there is the time of the need.

Through this model, the Techno-Cosmic Union managed to develop into a hegemon that has the unconditional support of tens if not hundreds of High-Level Civilizations and Star Nations across the Cosmos, while the Techno-Cosmic Union gives this faction preceded preferential treatment compared to the Low-Level Civilitzatiosn and Star Nations and Mid-Level Civilizations and Star Nations."

The more Arcturus listened to this new world where he had been living for the past month, the more he really came to learn that in this world, power meant everything.

Basically, all benefits and the most advanced technology were in the hands of the High-Level Civilizations, who were doing everything in their power to make the situation prevail.

Techno-Cosmic Union was one of the "Neutral" organizations in the Cosmos that had the sole purpose of gathering together engineers, scientists, scholars, and others to push the limits of science and technology across the Cosmos.

Among their major services, they were also creating and managing the database of technological patents across the Cosmos. They had branches in almost everything, though limited, opening their branches only in the capital cities of the High-Level Civilizations solely.

Techno-Cosmic Union or other similar organizations that operated on the scale of the entire Cosmos and tried to cover as many parts of the Cosmos as possible wouldn't be opening their branches in the Mid-Level Civilization, much less said about the Low-Level Civilizations.

That would be absolutely pointless and useless.

"Then we can go directly to the Techno-Cosmic Union Branch in the Celestara."

Arcturus stated that going to the Techno-Cosmic Union was indeed much better than the Imperial Administratum because he could see that it would be much more beneficial to have his patent be recorded within the Techno-Cosmic Union as that would give his patent much more credibility and power than if it was just registered within the Eternal Empire of the Asurya.

Even though the Eternal Empire was a fairly powerful High-Level Civilization, in the end, there was still only one High-Level Civilization in the end, and the Techno-Cosmic Union had countless members that were High-Level Civilizations.

So, the registration within the Techno-Cosmic Union took priority above everything else for the time being.

He also pondered over the matters and, in the end, decided to try to register the method of upgrades for the ABD-Spectre MK Battle Droids, turning them into essentially a new type of Battle Droid named ABD-Spectre MK II. Battle Droids.
