Su Heng was familiar with that look of sarcasm lately.
He strained to lower his voice, as he obviously had no intention of letting others overhear.
But Shen Qianrou and Jiang Rongrong heard everything.
Shen Qianrou turned around and hurried to Su Heng.
“Brother Heng, I’ll say it. I’ll go on stage and say it’s all my fault. I can’t control my heart…”
The atmosphere between the few of them was different, and it attracted the attention of many people. In particular the reporters, who had already detected something amiss.
“What nonsense!”
Jiang Rongrong growled, causing Shen Fanxing to let out a contemptuous sneer.
“Grandma… I can’t let Brother Heng bear all the responsibility…”
“Alright, stop creating trouble! Do you want to smear your reputation?!”
Jiang Rongrong chided harshly again as her gaze landed on Shen Fanxing, “Aren’t you going up?”
Shen Fanxing’s eyelashes shuddered and her grip on her bag left her hands white.
Reputation?
What about her?
She was still here, but she couldn’t even be bothered with her pretense.
At least she was calm.
“Grandma, please let me discuss this with Fanxing…”
“Enough.”
Su Heng wanted to interrupt, but a cold and firm voice sounded suddenly.
He turned his head and saw a tinge of disdain in Shen Fanxing’s sarcastic gaze.
“I’m nearly an hour late tonight. Su Heng, you can do so much in an hour. If you wanted to, you wouldn’t have waited until now… Now that things have reached this stage, why are you putting on an act? You betrayed me and still hope that I wouldn’t bear a grudge against you. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll pester you? Or do you actually want me to pester you?”
Su Heng froze, and his heart felt like it had been punched. His face turned pale as though the words had struck something.
Shen Fanxing took a deep breath and averted her gaze. Turning her head she said curtly, “Make way.”
“Fanxing…”
Shen Fanxing frowned, as impatience finally showed on her face. She pushed Su Heng aside.
He was caught off guard and staggered backward. Shen Qianrou darted forward and hugged his waist tightly, while he naturally held onto Shen Qianrou’s slender waist.
Even though it was a reflex, their posture was simply well-practiced.
There was bound to be a difference between a man and a woman. Besides, Su Heng would only suffer a fall. It had nothing to do with life and death. Just an outstretched hand would prevent him from falling. Yet, Shen Qianrou and Su Heng ended up cuddling together.
Shen Fanxing shot them a cold stare before she walked towards the stage, ignoring the noises around her.
Jiang Rongrong coughed to remind the two of them who were hugging. With a stern glare, Shen Qianrou promptly released Su Heng hastily.
Jiang Rongrong trailed closely behind Shen Fanxing.
Shen Fanxing walked up to the stage and stood before the podium, as her gaze swept across the sight before her.
It was indeed a five-star luxurious hotel. Even the tables had their own individual LCD screen.
She looked up slowly, her delicate features unreadable under the bright lighting. There wasn’t a trace of emotion on her face.
Her aloof look carried an air of arrogance, and she looked like a white flower blooming on the peak of the snowy mountains. Elegant, noble and unattainable.
Ding Chengyu stood below the stage and watched the arrogant woman. His eyes glittered with interest behind his gold-rimmed glasses.
Shen Fanxing’s gaze scanned the sea of guests, as her lips lifted into a smirk.
Seeing her smile, Jiang Rongrong frowned, and her heart was unsettled.
“Sorry to disrupt everyone…”
Her clear and crisp voice sounded throughout the banquet hall, attracting everyone’s attention…
