Although it was requested for the purpose of being able to share a room with his mother, it was still progress.
She was rather happy.
Han Qingsong’s eyes softened and he went to the main room to bring Xiaowang’s clothes, placing them on the kang cabinet.
Lin Lan saw that the elastic band of Xiaowang’s trousers was undone, so she made a few stitches with a needle and thread.
Han Qingsong brought some hot water for her, “It’s getting late.”
Lin Lan looked at her watch— it was only 9 o’clock, so it was still early. The night was long and she wouldn’t sleep even if she laid down now. If so, it would be better to get onto the kang later.
For him to actively tell her that, Lin Lan thought that there should be another meaning to it.
She didn’t go to the fields today, so she merely wiped herself with a towel dampened with water.
She knew that Han Qingsong was staring at her, so she put the basin behind the door and shielded herself from his eyes, lest his orbs burnt her like a spark of fire.
Although staring at his wife was not technically illegal, shouldn’t he control himself a bit more? She figured that the colder the person on the outside, the more unbearable they were once they were filled with desire.
After she finished washing up, she dried herself and climbed onto the kang. Han Qingsong took the water out and came in after taking a bath himself in the cold.
Soon after Xiaowang fell asleep, he kicked the quilt aside with his calf, sweating profusely as he felt the kang was very hot.
Lin Lan asked Han Qingsong to wipe Xiaowang with a towel and propped up the quilt a little to avoid wrapping the child up too tightly.
Han Qingsong also did as she requested.
Lin Lan whispered, “Xiaowang is different from other children. He doesn’t have a sense of security as he is slightly timid and easily withdrawn. As parents, we need to take care of him a little more and be patient with him,” After finishing speaking, she quickly added, “The doctor said so.”
She didn’t really ask for much from Han Qingsong before, so she never brought it up, not needing him to make any changes to his lifestyle. Now that she said so, it meant that she was asking him to pay more attention to detail, hoping that they could raise and educate their children properly together.
Han Qingsong rubbed Xiaowang’s forehead with his big hand and threw the child’s torn handkerchief at her.
“It’s not a serious sickness or something, right?” Han Qingsong stared at her.
Lin Lan shook her head, “As long as we take care of him and make sure that he doesn’t feel abandoned, he’ll be fine.”
Han Qingsong nodded without showing any intention of trying to blame, “Okay, I’ll pay attention.”
Seeing her leaning on the kang’s cabinet in thin clothes and talking to him, he motioned for her to get onto their kang quickly.
Lin Lan’s gaze met his deep eyes as her heart trembled. She then quickly got into the bed and wrapped herself in a quilt.
As soon as Han Qingsong stepped onto the kang with his long legs, he lifted the quilt and laid down next to her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his embrace.
It was a cool touch at first before their warm bodies gradually warmed up. Lin Lan felt very comfortable and leaned into his arms involuntarily.
“Will it numb your arm?” Lin Lan found him very strange. Even though there were two pillows, he insisted on her head lying against his arm. Was it like this for every pair of husband and wife?
He said, “No.”
Gently stroking Lin Lan’s wet hair, “It’s not heavier than a gun.”
