Also, the Security Director knew about Han Qingsong and Han Qingyun coming to the County today. If he were to encounter any sort of serious situation back at home, he would have entrusted them with to help sort out his workload. However, since he didn’t do such a thing, it was clear that Xiuyun came here on her own accord.

If she was here by her own will, then something must be wrong.

Usually, situations like these didn’t mean anything positive.

Lin Lan said, “Wait for me, I’ll go and say hello.”

Naturally, Lin Lan wasn’t that willing to meddle in other people’s business, but seeing Liu Xiuyun looking lost in the hospital before and encountering her in front of the entrance of the cinema again, there was probably something wrong.

Liu Xiuyun, the Security Director’s daughter, was a nice girl who treated everyone well. She was well-behaved, sensible, quiet and kind. Every time she were to meet someone, she would always wear a smile and never frown.

Even the most stingiest or worst-attitude person in the entire village wouldn’t be able to criticise Liu Xiuyun.

After all, she was kind to everyone and would help anyone who needed aid.

Even Lin Lan had accepted her help before.

It was also the year when the original owner had a fight with Liu Chunfang and  gave birth to Xiaowang prematurely. Later, the original owner had a fight with the old lady and the others before she ran out in a fit of anger. In the end, no one cared about her at all. The Eldest sister-in-law wanted to go out and find her then, but she was scolded by Old Lady Han for wanting to do so.

In the end, the original owner became both hungry and cold, almost passing out from hunger.

It just so happened that Liu Xiuyun passed by. At that time, she was only a 12 or 13 year-old girl. She didn’t mind Lin Lan’s tattered clothes and dirty body. She helped her to a leeward place and offered her own warm sweet potato to the original owner.

Lin Lan still recalled the warmth that the original owner had received in that cold and was very grateful to Liu Xiuyun.

Therefore, if Liu Xiuyun was in a pit, she would most definitely offer her assistance.

Han Qingsong stopped the bicycle and told her to go.

Lin Lan handed the satchel to Han Qingsong, telling him to be careful of the food in the lunch box before running towards Liu Xiuyun.

“Xiuyun, it’s really you!” Lin Lan said with a smile, “I thought I mistaken someone else for you.”

Upon seeing Lin Lan, Liu Xiuyun was taken aback for a moment as her expression changed. She looked a little at a loss, as if she was caught doing something bad.

“Au-auntie, are you here to watch a movie?”

Lin Lan said with a smile, “Why would farmers be watching any movies? We don’t have any spare money, anyways. I brought Xiaowang over to check on his eyes, how about you?”

Liu Xiuyun began to crumple the corner of her clothes desperately, “I-I, I had a stomach ache today, so I also came to the hospital to check it out.”

Liu Xiuyun was not good at lying. Not being able to make up a better excuse, she settled with this one.

Lin Lan asked with concern, “Is your stomach still hurting? We came here on bicycle, do you need us to get you a lift home?”

Liu Xiuyun quickly shook her head, “N-no, there’s no need.”
