Chapter 39: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Chapter 39 Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

The second class for Gryffindor freshmen is History of Magic. This is undoubtedly one of the most boring classes in Hogwarts.

The History of Magic classroom is located on the second floor of Hogwarts Castle. New students in Gryffindor will have twenty minutes of free time after finishing their first class.

However, since Albert chatted with Professor Flitwick for a long time, the four of them had no extra time to waste, so they had to hurry up and rush to the History of Magic classroom.

By the time the four of them arrived in the History of Magic classroom in a hurry, the administrator Argus Filch had already come to open the door in advance. After all, Professor Binns, as a ghost, could not open the door for everyone.

Gryffindor's History of Magic and Ravenclaw were together, and everyone was sitting in their seats chatting before class.

Albert ignored the twin brothers playing nearby. He took out the box of multi-flavor beans from his pocket, picked out a blue bean and threw it into his mouth. After chewing it, he found that it was blueberry flavored.

"Good luck." Albert muttered. When he took out "History of Magic" from his schoolbag, he also took out "Selected Spells of the Nineteenth Century" and flipped through his skill list under the cover of reading a book.

After taking the spells class, Albert found that he had acquired another skill: spell theory.

In Albert's memory, this basic skill was very useful, so he immediately upgraded his magic theory to level 1. He carefully recalled some of the extra knowledge of magic theory in his head, and couldn't help but frown. The effect of just upgrading by one level didn't seem to be big.

how to say?

His own curse theory has indeed improved, but Albert has a feeling that it is just like this. Most of the knowledge is actually not difficult to understand as long as it is broken down, so he has the illusion of being mediocre.

While thinking about the knowledge of the Luminous Spell, Albert took some multi-flavor beans and threw them into his mouth, as if he were eating chocolate beans.

The next moment, he reached out to cover his mouth, and a hot taste escaped from his mouth.

Damn it, the chili-flavored multi-flavored bean he just ate was so spicy that Albert swore he would never eat it when he was in a trance.

“What’s wrong with you?” Fred noticed Albert’s change.

“Versatile beans, chili flavored.” Albert pointed to the small box on the table. He hadn’t finished the multi-flavor beans he bought on the train last time.

“Every bite is an experience of a great adventure.” Fred gloated and laughed, not forgetting to tease Albert by mentioning the slogan of the multi-flavor beans.

Albert glared at the guy in front of him fiercely, took out another toffee from his pocket and stuffed it into his mouth to relieve the spicy taste, and handed the multi-flavor beans to Fred.

“Be especially careful when eating multi-flavor beans.” Fred pinched one and threw it into his mouth and chewed it, “Spinach flavored ones.”

“Mine is strawberry,” George announced cheerfully.

"I like this very much..." Li Jordan also came over, picked one and threw it into his mouth.

“Do you want all-flavor beans?” Albert asked, shaking the box towards the others.

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Qiaodan's voice came from the side.

“It smells like rotten eggs, so disgusting.” The black guy’s cheeks almost twisted together, and he spat out the chewed multi-flavor beans on the ground.

A Ravenclaw girl next to him cast a disgusted look at Li Qiaodan.

Perception of the other party's eyes, Li Qiaodan looked a little embarrassed and scratched his head in embarrassment.

“Clean it up.” Albert raised his wand, pointed at Lee Jordan’s vomit, and threw a fruit candy to him.

“I will never eat braised beans again.” Li Jordan vowed.

“You’ve said this more than once.” George teased. "He just took another one, the marmalade flavored one.

After the Li Jordan incident, everyone kept away from Albert's small box of multi-flavor beans. They didn't want to eat anything weird.

“What magic did you use just now?” The Ravenclaw girl introduced herself: “My name is Katrina McDougal.”

"Hello Katrina, I'm Albert Anderson." Albert stuffed another piece of chocolate into his mouth, and after chewing it, the burning taste in his mouth gradually subsided, "That was a descaling spell, it's very practical. A magic."

"Most freshmen are not as good at magic as you, even if their families teach them in advance. And..." Katrina glanced at the "Selected Spells of the Nineteenth Century" that Albert was flipping through and said, "I dare say The Sorting Hat must have sorted you into the wrong house."

"There's nothing wrong with Gryffindor." Albert didn't pay attention to what the other person said: "Also...I come from a Muggle family."

"This is impossible. Only if you come from a wizard's family, their family will teach you magic knowledge in advance." The expression on Katrina's face was a bit astonished.

"I heard... when you enter the Ravenclaw lounge, you need to answer a question..." Albert changed the topic stiffly, not wanting to argue about his bloodline.

"Yes, you need to answer the question on the eagle-shaped bronze door knocker before you are allowed to enter the Ravenclaw common room." Katrina looked at Albert with suspicious eyes and asked, "But, I am curious, are you How do you know this? Many people don't know how to enter the lounges of other colleges.

“I accidentally heard a Ravenc student complaining about not being able to answer questions and being left outside the lounge.” Albert talked casually.

“Oh!” Katrina was still a little suspicious of Albert, after all, the chance of encountering this kind of thing was slim.

“Do you feel that Albert can chat with anyone?” George, who was sitting next to him, muttered in a low voice.

Fred nodded repeatedly, and Li Jordan also agreed. He reached out and took out a multi-flavor bean from the box. This guy actually likes to eat multi-flavor beans.

Albert glared at the three of them, coughed slightly and asked, "Tell me about any interesting problems you have encountered?"

“Phoenix or fire, which one comes first?” Katrina picked a question she happened to know the answer to.

“What do you think?” Albert turned his head and looked at the twin brothers

“I think the phoenix should come first?” Fred said.

“I think so too?” George immediately agreed.

 “Why?” Li Qiaodan asked puzzledly.

“Of course I guessed it!” the twins said in unison, their natural expressions amused everyone.

Albert couldn't help but laugh.

“What about you?” Katrina asked again.

"In the Muggle world, there is a similar question." Albert continued without answering the other party directly: "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"

“What’s the answer?” Katrina asked curiously. She felt she had guessed the answer.

“The chicken comes first.” Albert replied, and the answer was indeed different from what Katrina thought.

"Why?"

Albert explained: "How could an egg appear in the world for no reason?"

Katrina shook her head and said: "That's not enough reason."
