Chapter 357: The Cat Who Wants to Die
Albert didn't predict the winning lottery numbers, but he predicted what he would write in his notes two days later, so...he won.
Although only a small prize of a few hundred pounds was planted, the experiment was undoubtedly a success.
The money was used as a dinner party for the Anderson family to celebrate Nia's arrival at Casterton High School.
Ever since this time, Daisy looked at her son with a strange expression.
Herb was disappointed when he learned that he had worked for many years, but the result might not be worth a lottery ticket from Albert. It's a good thing that they all like the profession of lawyer, otherwise they would probably give up and let Albert directly predict a big prize.
For the rest of the summer vacation, Albert stayed at home and did his vacation homework. Because he was doing repetitive things every day, he always felt that time passed very quickly.
On the last night of August, Albert was packing his luggage in his room. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. After the door was opened, Tom was trying to get in through the crack in the door.
“Mom asked me to give this to you.”
With that said, Nia put a bag of candies next to the suitcase, then sat down on the bed, looking at Albert who was busy packing his things, as if he was about to say something, but didn't.
“After you go to Casterton Middle School, remember to find some good friends and don’t let others bully you.” Albert warned without raising his head.
“I’ve also learned karate.” Nia reminded.
“Learning that is not just for you to fight with others.” Albert pushed Tom aside, turned to look at Nia and said, “Girls shouldn’t be so violent, otherwise they will be disliked.”
“Then why are you learning karate?” Nia curled her lips in dissatisfaction. She had not forgotten that someone had knocked down a few unlucky people in school.
“I learn karate!” Albert said without thinking, “Of course it’s so that others can talk to me calmly!”
“Quibble!”
"When the other party can't beat me, do you think he is willing to be beaten, or is he willing to reason with me?" Albert opened a candy and threw it into his mouth, and said to Nia with a smile: "By the way, there is one thing, you Remember."
"What's up?"
"Don't show off what I give you. Ordinary people are very afraid of magic, and they may even do some irrational things." Albert reminded seriously: "You should learn to protect yourself."
“You are more verbose than mom.”
"By the way, this is for you." Albert ignored the other party's complaints and took out a garnet pendant and handed it to Nia.
This is the amulet he and Nico tried to make together when he went to visit Nico. By the way, the piece of garnet was kindly provided by Nico.
He was quite satisfied with the finished product made in cooperation with Albert. Both of them cast very powerful protective magic on the amulet.
“Another amulet?”
Nia took the amulet and looked it up and down. She felt that it was more like a work of art.
"The amulets I gave you before are no longer effective. The one you have should last longer. I made this for you after asking Mr. Nico Flamel for advice."
“Did you carve it?” Nia asked in disbelief.
The pendant is like a phoenix reborn from the ashes. It is a very fine one. It is really beautiful with the red garnet.
"What else? Your brother and I are very talented. I really don't know why my mother is always worried that I can't find a job." Albert nagged, "Remember, don't mention magic to anyone. I will tell you about it in future letters." Let your family forward it to you."
“I know.” Nia took the necklace and ran downstairs quickly to share the gift with Daisy.
Albert couldn’t help but shake his head.
The next day, Albert got up early.
It took him a long time to convince Tom to stay in the cage.
Despite the experience from the last trip, Tom still doesn’t want to be locked up.
After Herb carried the suitcase to the car, the family set off towards King's Cross Station. They successfully arrived at the station before ten o'clock.
Herb helped unload the suitcases onto the trolley, while Albert was saying his final goodbyes to his family.
“Remember to write to me.” Nia stepped forward and gave Albert a hug.
“When you find a good friend in school, you will forget about me.”
“No way.” The girl was a little unhappy.
“Okay, take care of yourself when you go to school.”
“I’m not a child anymore, don’t keep saying these things.”
Herb and Daisy couldn't help laughing. They both stepped forward and gave Albert a hug. Daisy also kissed Albert's forehead.
"I'm leaving."
Albert pushed the car through the wall when no one was paying attention.
At this time, not many students have arrived yet, and the platform is deserted. Only the Hogwarts locomotive is emitting white smoke.
Finding an empty compartment in the middle compartment, Albert went in and closed the compartment door before letting Tom out of the cage.
The fat cat found himself in a strange place and seemed very insecure. He sniffed around and squatted on the table in front of Albert, staring straight at him, as if asking Albert to prepare. Where to take yourself?
Sheila in the cage next to her was shaking her head and looking at the back of Tom's head. If she hadn't been locked in the cage, she would have probably given the fat cat a slap on the head.
Probably sensing that the back of his head was being caressed, Tom turned his head and stared at the owl in the cage that was shaking its head. He licked his paws, jumped into Albert's arms, and meowed demonstratively at the owl in the cage.
The owl in the cage began to scratch the cage with its talons, as if ready to come out and peck out the fat cat's head.
“Okay, stop making trouble.”
Albert quickly comforted the two pets to prevent them from making a fuss in the carriage.
After a while, the platform began to become lively, and more and more wizards appeared here to send their children to the train, or to say their final goodbyes to their own children.
Albert observed the situation outside the platform through the window, looking for the boy with the lightning scar on his forehead.
Even though he knew there was little chance of him finding Harry Potter, he didn't mind doing it as a time-killing activity.
At this moment, a voice attracted Albert's attention. When he turned around, he saw Tom squatting in front of Sheila's cage, tapping the birdcage with his paws, provoking the owl in the cage.
It’s really a death wish!
Tom didn’t dare to do this before. Did he know that Sheila was locked in a cage and couldn’t get out?
Albert stretched out his hand to touch his forehead, preparing to separate the two guys before a fight broke out.
However, it’s already too late.
I don’t know if Sheila suddenly enlightened, and actually knew how to use her paws to open the door bolt on the birdcage, kick the door of the cage open, and get out of it.
Before Tom could react, Sheila stretched out her head and pecked at its head, and there was a sudden buzz in the carriage.
