Chapter 1006 "Self-Defense Guide"
Late at night, the windows of the Gryffindor common room were still lit, and Harry Potter was sitting at the round table next to the roaring fireplace, catching up on homework. He felt a little sleepy. He covered his yawn and rubbed his sore eyes. Then he raised his hands and stretched. In his free time, he looked sideways at the pouring rain outside the window. He covered another yawn and then felt heavy. Driven by my studies, I continued to pick up the quill pen.
This month, I was targeted at toads, and the unobstructed difficult training of the Queidic team caused Harry to have little time to complete the family assignments arranged by the professors, so that they could only stay up late every day to do homework.
He inadvertently glanced at the scar on the back of his hand. There was a shallow mark left on it from repeatedly copying sentences with the punishment quill.
Fortunately, Umbridge's recent experiences were even worse than his own, which made Harry's originally gloomy mood much better.
In order to further fight against Umbridge, Harry even joined the Anti-Toad Alliance.
Yes, the rumored anti-toad alliance certainly exists.
Harry knew a long time ago who was causing trouble for Umbridge.
This was Albert Anderson's idea?
Or is it a trick of the Weasley brothers?
Harry did not know this, but the truth was not important to him. What was important was that Umbridge was punished.
Yes, Harry didn't feel any guilt at all for teasing Umbridge so badly, and he never even thought that he would hate or be so hostile to someone.
Bringing his thoughts back, Harry continued to immerse himself in copying his homework. It was not until the early hours of the morning that he put away the homework on his desk. He took out the Mothra Mouse Tentacle Pain Relief Ointment provided by the Weasley brothers from his pocket and applied it on the back of his hand. The wound left by the punishment quill sometimes hurts. It is said that the analgesic ointment contains white extract, which can avoid leaving scars as much as possible.
“Does your arm still hurt?” Hermione asked suddenly.
“Have you not gone to rest yet?”
Harry looked at Hermione who was still sitting next to him with some surprise. In the past, Hermione would go back to rest before midnight. It was said that staying up late was bad for the skin.
“Hermione said she wanted to talk to you about something.” Ron also put down the quill in his hand, wanting to hear what Hermione was going to say.
“Hermione, just tell me if you have something to say.” Harry said calmly.
Hermione probably had something important to say, otherwise she would not have chosen this time. No doubt she did not want others to hear the conversation between the three of them.
“What did Sirius say?”
Hermione's first words made both Harry and Ron a little confused, and obviously neither understood the meaning of the words, but Hermione seemed to realize it and added, "I'm talking about practicing Defense Against the Dark Arts. "
"Oh, I contacted Sirius last night, and he approved of my courage to stand up to Umbridge." Harry understood what Hermione meant and said with a smile, "Sirius also recommended an exercise for us. Great place for a spell.”
“Where?” Ron asked.
"The Screaming Shack." Harry said, "He thinks that if you don't want Umbridge to notice, the Screaming Shack is a good choice. We take time to practice magic in the Screaming Shack every week. If you have time, Sirius And Remus will also take time to teach us."
"Harry, if there were only three of us, the Shrieking Shack would be a good place, but..." Before Hermione could finish her words, she was interrupted by Harry, who was frowning.
“More than just the three of us? Oh, you mean Fred, George and Lee Jordan?”
To be honest, the Weasley twins are also very good at Defense Against the Dark Arts. They had trained Defense Against the Dark Arts with Albert before. Harry even doubted that he could defeat one of them in a duel.
“I heard their joke props are very popular.” Ron felt that those guys were totally robbing money.
“Maybe it’s not just the three of us.” Hermione coughed and explained, “The initial defense association is not small, and... I think most of the members of the Anti-Toad Alliance will be willing to participate.”
"Hermione, I think you're kidding." Harry glared at Hermione and said angrily, "I'm not Anderson, and I don't have his charm. How many people do you think would be willing to believe a weirdo like me? What’s more, we don’t have that much room to move around.”
"Hermione, I think Harry is right." Ron echoed, "If you really want to reorganize the Defense Association, then you should let Anderson preside over it. Only he has the ability to reorganize the students of Hogwarts." stand up."
Both of them had previously thought that Hermione was planning to form a three-person Defense Against the Dark Arts team, but now it seems that Hermione is planning to reorganize the Defense Association.
Harry felt that if he did what Hermione did, he would probably become a laughing stock. After all, there were many students in the school who thought he was a liar.
"Besides, you think Umbridge has no reason to confine me?" Harry asked with a strange expression.
"Harry, since when are you afraid of Umbridge? If you want more people to be on your side..." Hermione was interrupted by Harry before she could finish her words.
"Hermione, I really don't know how to convince them, at least I don't think I have the ability." Harry was very dissatisfied with Hermione's plan, which was completely unrealistic.
If it were just a Defense Against the Dark Arts team, it would actually be a pretty good idea to find some good friends to communicate with each other and improve the level of Defense Against the Dark Arts, but Harry felt that Hermione's "ambition" was a bit too big.
"Many people are willing to believe you, and I think you should give them a chance." Hermione hesitated for a moment and said.
"Give them a chance to laugh at me?" Harry laughed at himself, "Don't kid yourself Hermione, you know very well how other people are feeling."
"I think Harry is right. Just take our dormitory as an example. Only Neville is willing to believe Harry." Ron stood on Harry's side, and he knew the attitude of others very well.
"If you want to reorganize the Defense Association, you should go to Anderson, he is better at this kind of thing." Harry repeated.
"He's not available, Harry." Hermione said helplessly, "And you don't have to underestimate yourself, you are also very good at Defense Against the Dark Arts, and you have this..."
"What's this?"
“Albert gave it to me.” Hermione handed the book to Harry.
Harry took the book and looked at the silver stamp on the book: "Self-Defense Guide".
"Self-Defense Guide"? Ron asked suspiciously: "Is this a book written by Albert?"
"Yes, it was said to be an early Christmas gift to me. I have read it several times. It is included in the spells we practiced in the Forbidden Forest last semester." Hermione explained to Harry: "It is said that this book also refers to Auror training, as long as you master the things inside, you can have some self-protection capabilities."
“Books compiled by Albert?”
Harry was a little surprised. He flipped through the "Self-Defense Guide" and found that it contained some very basic spells, and he had learned many of them, such as the Iron Armor Curse, the Disarming Curse...
“It feels very ordinary.”
That’s right, Harry’s first impression of this book was that it was just average.
"Harry, this is just the most basic knowledge. As long as you read the entire book, you will gain a lot." Hermione could understand Harry's thoughts because she felt the same way at first, but after reading the entire book , she found that she had not learned even the most basic things in the Defense Against the Dark Arts course she had taken for five years.
After reading it, Hermione even felt that this thing was more suitable as a textbook for Defense Against the Dark Arts than "Dark Powers: A Guide to Self-Defense".
"I dare say you don't even know the most basic techniques of casting spells. As long as you master the knowledge in this book, everyone's self-defense ability will be greatly improved." Hermione admired her very much after reading this book. Albert, she continued, "It contains a total of 66 spells and teaches everyone how to deal with various situations."
“Is this book really that powerful?”
Ron also leaned over, wanting to see the books that Hermione was touting.
“I feel very ordinary.”
Harry really can't see the brilliance of this book. He has mastered most of the spells in it.
"No, Harry, I think Hermione is right." Ron took it over and flipped through it, then nodded and said, "This book is indeed very powerful."
"real?"
"Harry, you feel very ordinary because Sirius has given you tutoring. You understand many things, so naturally you feel very ordinary." Hermione reminded, "You have to turn to the back of the book."
"Okay, Hermione, I agree with you. Can you lend me this book for a while?" Harry casually turned to the back part and found that it actually taught tracking and counter-tracking techniques.
He had to admit that he really didn't understand this stuff. At least so far, none of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classes would teach these things.
There will be teaching others how to use the Disillusionment Curse, teaching others how to build a simple and safe temporary camp, and teaching various practical knowledge and skills.
Okay, Harry admitted that compared to this book, "Defense Theory of Magic" really only deserves to stay in the trash can.
“I’m right, this book is very suitable as our teaching material.”
“But we have no place to practice spells.”
Harry flipped through the book briefly and saw how to cast a spell on his house to protect his family from evil guests.
"If Umbridge found out what we're about to do, I'm sure she'd be happy to put everyone in confinement."
“We can form the prototype of the Defense Association first, and we can slowly find a place to practice magic.” Hermione said excitedly.
“We can ask Fred to borrow their activity room?” Ron suggested.
"I'm afraid not. I don't think Albert would agree." Hermione shook her head and said, "Practice magic may ruin the place. Fred and George have agreed to help find an activity room."
"Aren't you ready to give up that unrealistic idea?" Harry closed the book and looked at Hermione with a slightly raised eyebrow.
“You always need some support.” Hermione said without hesitation: “And there are some things that we need to learn from each other and improve each other.”
"Okay, Hermione, tell me honestly what you want to do. I don't believe you just want to learn some magic." Harry looked at Hermione and asked seriously, "Those reasons of yours don't matter to me. It’s ridiculous, if it’s just the Defense Against Dark Arts team, I believe if you are willing, you can gather a dozen or so without any problem.”
Ron moved back and forth between Harry and Hermione in confusion.
"Okay!" Hermione took a deep breath and said seriously: "The main reason is to learn more about how to protect yourself. But you should also know the current situation at Hogwarts. Umbridge does not She is unpopular, and she has been disgusting others recently. I think it is not a good idea to provide opportunities for others and gather those who are willing to believe in you. Fighting alone is not a good idea. You need more supporters Harry. If everyone is willing to believe you, I think you don’t want to be isolated!”
"My plan is to recruit people from the Anti-Toad Alliance first." Hermione continued, "The Anti-Toad Alliance already has nearly a hundred members. I believe there must be some of them who are willing to believe in you. I think we can combine with each other and believe in you." Everyone is very willing to participate, they have had enough of toads."
“Hermione, I think your ideas are really naive.” Harry said suddenly.
“What?” Hermione was a little surprised.
“Actually, there is a way to convince them all at once.”
"any solution?"
"To put it bluntly, the whole thing is a debate over whether Voldemort is still alive." Harry pointed to the core issue, "For wizards who have never seen Voldemort's resurrection with their own eyes, it is indeed a bit difficult to convince them of the cruel reality. so…"
"so?"
"Just let them face the cruel reality. Sirius told me that there is a stone basin in Dumbledore's office that can present the memory to everyone. As long as others watch the memory of Voldemort's resurrection, no one will doubt it anymore. Is Voldemort resurrected?"
Hermione opened her mouth, stunned by Harry's method.
"You are right, but...will Dumbledore be willing to lend us the stone basin?" Ron actually wanted to see the scene of Voldemort's resurrection. "And, if that could really be done, why would Dumbledore Why don't you let Fudge watch your memories?"
"Because Fudge doesn't want to step down!" Harry sneered. "Whether he sees it or not, Fudge won't believe it. Once he admits that Voldemort is resurrected, he will have to step down and get out."
“What should we do?” said Ron.
"If you want to form a Defense Against the Dark Arts team, then follow my instructions." Harry said to Hermione, "Invite those who want to believe it, forget it if you don't want to believe it, tell them clearly what we are going to do, Instead of finding a reason to find them."
“But Harry, everyone…”
"I never feel that I need to be recognized by anyone, and I don't want to spend time convincing anyone," Harry interrupted, "Anyway, I don't want to be regarded as a monkey in the zoo, and I don't think I can make friends with a group of people who want to see others. The guy I laughed at?”
"Sorry, maybe I said it a little too much." Harry apologized to Hermione, "But I think Fred and George were right. You are indeed too naive in some ways."
"Lend me this book for a while. I want to study the contents." Harry took the book and left.
“Hermione, are you okay?” Ron asked worriedly.
“Do you also think my method is unreliable?” Hermione asked Ron.
"I don't know." Ron shook his head. "But I just want to learn something useful. Harry must think so too."
