When the doorbell rung, Keira woke up with a start. She was jetlagged and didn't realize that it was already 9am in the morning. She went to open the door and to her surprise she saw Feng Xinying over there. Even though she was feeling groggy, her hair was all messed up and her clothes were crumpled, she hugged Feng Xinying tightly.
"Xiao Ying! How are you? So happy to see you!" Keira shrieked. "Girl, I have been missing you crazily."
Feng Xinying as so happy to see her best friend that she became teary. She wiped the tears off her eyes and said, "I am fine Keira. Missed you a lot too." Feng Xinying felt good immediately. She was content that Keira was with her to protect her, to save her and guard her from the harms of the world. She had been there for her when she felt gloomy. She was her friend who laughed before picking her up when fell down. She remembered the times when they laughed together, were scolded together and played pranks on other professionals together. No matter how far across the continents they were, they were the besties for life.
Feng Xinying smiled as they both held hands and went to the living room.
"Xion Ying, give me ten minutes to get ready. Can you make some tea for me by then?" said Keira and went to take a shower.
Feng Xinying shook her head and went to the kitchen to prepare tea and breakfast for her.
Keira came out soon and they had breakfast. She was wearing black shorts and a crop top, which was off-shoulder. The large curls of her hair were falling on her small face and she had pinned them on one side with a bunny clip. She was looking adorable.
In comparison Feng Xinying looked every bit sophisticated. With a blue silk dress that hugged her body, she looked like a high society woman walking straight out of a magazine. Hair tied in a pony, her gracefulness was not acquired, it was inbuilt.
After having their breakfast, which comprised of toasts, omelet and stewed kidney beans, the two friends, went to the living room where they sat down for an hour and caught up with the latest gossip.
They kept talking until the lunchtime and Feng Xinying said, "Keira, how about we go out for lunch? I know a very nice restaurant located in one of our malls. It serves local authentic Burmese cuisine."
Keira sprang upon her feet and said, "Sure, let's go. I am dying to have some oriental cuisine and while I am in here, you better make me taste all of it."
Together they headed to the restaurant. Feng Xinying told the driver about it and they were there within fifteen minutes. While they were taking escalator to the fifth floor, they came across Yun Chen and her small group of friends.
"Oh! Look who is here," said Yun Chen. "The little 'Miss-trying-to-get-in-our-CEO's-pants'." Yun Chen looked at them with so much contempt that other girls around her also sneered at her.
Before Feng XinYing could say anything, Keira interrupted, "Hey, how about going your way? Do we even know you?"
Yun Chen looked at Keira and measured her up and down. She snickered at her and said, "And who are you? You look so shabby. How could you even enter a mall owned by the Feng group? This is a place for upper class people and not some beggars who have no standing in the society."
Keira raised an eyebrow and replied, "Then what are you all doing here?"
"You-" said Yun Chen gritting her teeth.
Feng Xinying stopped Keira by touching her arm and then turned to Yun Chen and thought how dumb this woman was. 'Alright, let us play.'
Crossing her arms across her chest she said, "And you are…?"
Yun Chen had a shocked expression on her face. How come she wouldn't know her? Was she such an ambiguous person that Feng Xinying had forgotten about her?
"I am Yun Chen, secretary to CEO Xie Yuansheng," she replied with a dejected look.
"So what are you doing in the mall? Shouldn't you be there in the office?" asked Feng Xinying.
Before Yun Chen could open her mouth, Feng Xinying said, "If there is nothing else, please go on your way. We don't like talking to the strangers." Feng Xinying walked away dragging Keira with her.
"You-" Yun Chen shouted behind and pulled her from her shoulders. "How dare you speak like this with me? I will have you thrown out of this mall now." She lifted her hand to slap her, when suddenly she felt sharp pain on her hand. She yelped and cried, "Ahhh." To her horror she found that Keira had hit her on the hand with her karate.
