"Has she spilled the beans? Who was helping her?" he asked.
"No… but she is maintaining her stance that it was Feng Xinying who wanted to murder you and that she only tried to foil her plan."
"I will come there in an hour."
Xie Yuansheng went to see Feng Xinying in her room after changing his clothes and found that she wasn't there. Worried, he went out. He heard some noises coming from the kitchen. He rushed down to the kitchen to stop the catastrophe that was about to happen.
"Today I will cook the lamp chops," Feng Xinying was ordering everyone around. The chefs over there were looking at her feeling helpless. Lu Boyun was chiding everyone as usual if they didn't follow her order.
"Get me thyme, garlic and rosemary," she ordered flexing a knife at the servants.
Xie Yuansheng came inside the kitchen and was very disturbed. "Feng Xinying, you are not well. Please go back to bed and we can eat later."
"No Xie Yuansheng, I am very fine. Don't worry!" she replied.
Xie Yuansheng wanted to smack her head for trying to cook anything but he said sheepishly, "Baby, please your wrists are hurt badly. They are bruised. You don't do anything now. Let the chefs take care."
"I am not a delicate darling Yuansheng. I can make lamp chops very easily. I have already researched about the recipe. You just sit here and watch."
Xie Yuansheng's eyes became wide with fear when he remembered the last disastrous dish she had made. He shuddered. He had to think of something to keep her away from the kitchen.
"Yingying, I have brought a great cook book from Paris. Why don't the two of us try making the dinner? I am going out to buy the groceries for the cuisine. Join me," he suggested and then bit his fist. He had never ever made noodles in his life, and he committed to preparing French cuisine! But that was the best he could to distract her.
Feng Xinying smiled at the thought of the two of them preparing a meal together. She nodded and said, "Okay, lets go out to buy the groceries." She wiped her hands and walked out of the kitchen with him.
Xie Yuansheng breathed a sigh of relief and they headed for the market. They went to the mall where directly went to the grocery line. Feng Xinying stood there with a cart and looked at him expectantly. She was really impressed by the fact that he remembered all the ingredients that he had to put in the cuisine. He looked at her staring at him and he stared back blankly. "What?"
"Pick the ingredients. I will walk with you," she replied with a smile.
Xie Yuansheng didn't know what to do. His forehead broke into cold sweat. It was at that time he realized the importance of the French classes that he had taken in school. The CEO of the Feng Conglomerate was seen running around the lanes of the grocery stores and picking everything that was spelled in French. Soon the cart was full and they checked out a happy Feng Xinying.
While driving back, Xie Yuansheng noticed that Feng Xinying had worn full sleeves shirt to hide the bruises on her wrists. He took his hand to her wrist, uncovered the bruises and then lightly touched them. He placed them softly in his lap inviting a warm smile from her.
"Do you know who was behind the attack?"
"Mhmm hmm…"
"I want to meet that person," she said.
"No, I won't allow that," he said as he tucked her hair behind her ear.
Xie Yuansheng declined her request with such determination that she didn't say another word.
"Take us to the Tangman District," he instructed his driver.
"Why are we going to the Tangman District?"
"I have a small meeting there with a business colleague. Just stay in the car and don't come out. I will be back in fifteen minutes. Okay?"
"Okay," she smiled and patted his hands.
Tangman District was located in the suburbs. It was far from their mansion. When they entered the district, Feng Xinying noticed how few houses were over there and the one that were there were huge mansions. It was a very beautiful area. Soon they reached the destination.
Xie Yuansheng hopped out of the car and walked inside. Feng Xinying became busy with her mobile.
Xie Shengjun saw him and stood from his place. "Yuangshen, I am leaving now! I am fed up of her. If she doesn't speak the truth I might end up killing her."
"No! Don't go out now. Xinying is in the car outside."
"Is she fine?" he asked.
"Yes, better," he answered as he looked at Wang Zirong who was strapped to a chair.
She was clearly very tired. He noticed that she was drenched in water. They hadn't let her sleep for the past few hours. He went to her. Her head was down and she was sleeping. He slapped her hard across the face. "Wake up!"
Wang Zirong woke up with a start. "Ah!" she cried as her lips split and blood oozed out.
