Chapter 179 - Hotel Red Dragon (2)

Ru Shishi read the last part of the message in the cab,

[They are celebrating the launch of the new movie by Lu Dao in which Feng Xinying is acting.]

She sighed and went inside the Hotel Red Dragon. "Feng Xinying, after tomorrow, you will be either dead or handicapped forever, and I will get the role in Lu Dao's movie. You will no longer be in my path to success," though Ru Shishi as she walked in.

It was a large property. A very beautiful hotel located in the uptown, there were many people inside the lobby and no one noticed her. She looked at the signs as to where the rooftop was and followed them. Instead of taking the elevator, Ru Shishi took the stairs to avoid bumping into people. The rooftop garden was located on the sixth floor and so it wasn't much of an effort for her to reach there and according to her guess, she didn't see a single person using the stairs.

When she arrived, she was mesmerized by the beautiful rooftop garden. It felt as though it was floating above the city. It had stunning views of the mountains far ahead and the river flowing on their foot. Once could see the clouds that had covered the mountains. There was cool wind blowing.

She saw that there were some workers working around. Glass railing from all sides surrounded the rooftop garden. There were numerous creepers with tiny orange flowers that were hanging from the railing.

As she walked in she saw that the workers were constructing a small podium for the chief guests in one corner. She went there and looked at it as though trying to register everything in her mind.

One of the workers, who were working there, saw a young and cute girl looking at it intently. He went to her and asked with a smile that exposed his yellow teeth, "Hello there miss, do you like it?"

Ru Shishi smiled back at him. "You should cover the podium with a green colored carpet."

He laughed and asked, "Who are you?"

Ru Shishi gave him a beatific smile. The worker melted. She turned around and said, "I am one of the staff from the hotel."

"Oh! Sorry young miss, I didn't know."

"It's okay but there are a few things I would like you to do." Ru Shishi went and sat on a chair that was kept conspicuously

"What is it Miss? I will do it," he asked with enthusiasm.

"First tell me where are you from? Are you from this city or from somewhere else?" she asked keeping her elbow on the table and resting her face on her hand.

The worker laughed and said, "I am a temporary laborer. My contractor has given me this daily wage job. I will finish it today and go back to my village."

"Oh! Where is your village?" she asked.

"It is five hours journey from here…" he replied.

Ru Shishi smiled. She opened her purse and whispered softly so that no one around heard her. "You have to do two things actually." She took out a thousand Yuan and kept them on the table.

"Number one, you have to loosen the nuts and bolts of the last board of the wooden podium that is present towards the end, near the glass railing."

The worker looked at her with shock. "Are you mad?"

Ru Shishi took out another five thousand Yuan from her purse and kept them on the table. The worker's eyes became wide. He started extending his hand to lift the money in front of him but Ru Shishi kept her hand on it with a smile.

She continued, "Number two, I want you to loosen the bolts of the glass railing that is just behind the podium."

The worker was eyeing so much money in front of him that was almost equivalent to his month's salary. Hailing from a village, this kind of money was a lot to spend. Ru Shishi was well aware of the fact that this was a large sum of money for him. She looked at him with a very serious expression and said, "If you can do those two jobs, you get the six thousand Yuan that is kept on the table in front of you, or else I will just pick them and go."

"But- but if I do that people on the podium may get injured seriously by stepping there," stuttered the worker. This was a small job that required very less time and some alertness. He knew he could do it but his consciousness was pricking him at the same time.

"Oh no! You are thinking too much. This is just a small prank we are playing with one of our colleagues here in the hotel. It's his birthday. We will scare him how badly he has managed it and then we will reveal it while cutting his birthday cake tomorrow." Ru Shishi said all that in a light manner.

The way she said, the worker actually thought that it was a prank. He laughed. "Madam, is that so? I will do it and it will hardly take an hour for me. I am very skilled at these types of jobs."

"You have to do it very secretly and don't do this until tomorrow evening. I want you to finish this job just before the guests arrive for his birthday," she said with a hint of naughtiness.

"Oh ho ho. Young miss, you don't have to worry at all. I will complete the job according to your satisfaction." The worker once again extended his hands towards the money over there as he bared his big yellow teeth. He was ecstatic that he was getting paid. He would go and drown himself in alcohol as soon as he reached his village. He had even thought of buying a small gift for his wife.

Ru Shishi withdrew all the money back. "What is the guarantee that you will finish the job after I give you the money?"

"Miss, of course I will finish the job! You can trust me."

Ru Shishi smiled and handed him all the money. "If they ask who gave you the money, just tell them that the hotel manager gave."

The worker laughed his heart out. "Okay Miss, but you are truly a prankster." He picked the money and Ru Shishi left.
