Chapter 13: Chapter 8 Mysterious Organization
The Drone quietly flew over the villa, its HD Camera rotating 360 degrees, beginning the search for Zhang Baocheng’s figure.
The upgraded Drone Surveillance Camera, although lacking infrared capabilities, had reached the pinnacle in optical imaging technology. At night, with just a bit of light, combined with its automatic light enhancement technology, the entire scene could be presented clearly. At the same time, the drone’s sound collection system had grown even more sensitive; the minute sounds from a hundred meters away could be collected, and it could even automatically filter out background noise, analyzing the original sounds.
Armed with such powerful detection methods and the faint moonlight tonight, the entire villa was completely under Yan Fei’s control. The villa’s guards focused mainly on the ground; searchlights rarely illuminated the sky, and nobody ever thought there was a Drone flying overhead, observing them.
It was already past eleven, and most of the rooms in the villa were dark, with only a sliver of light peeking through a crack in a window on the top floor. The Drone carefully lowered its altitude, then flew over and hovered outside the window, finding it tightly shut, the sliver of light seeping through a gap in the room’s curtains. Thus, the drone’s HD Camera started adjusting, and through the tiny gap in the curtains, Yan Fei actually managed to see the scene inside the room.
Several people were sitting inside the room, one of them was indeed Zhang Baocheng. The burly man beside him was none other than Second Xie, while on the other side sat an abnormally gaunt young man, who seemed as if he hadn’t woken up fully. Facing them was Wang Xiaohong, the middle-aged woman who often came to Yan Fei’s home wailing and causing a scene.
Seeing that middle-aged woman Wang Xiaohong in Zhang Baocheng’s house, Yan Fei finally confirmed that she was sent by Zhang Baocheng, and all this was Zhang Baocheng’s doing behind the scenes.
Inside the room, Zhang Baocheng looked very angry, nothing like his amiable self at the Company, and he shouted loudly, “What’s wrong with you people? After so long, that Yan Fei doesn’t show any sign of submission?”
Second Xie responded, “Brother Cheng, that Yan Fei is like a stone in a ditch, stinky and hard, and he reports to the police at the drop of a hat. You won’t let us use Martial Force to intimidate him, so without any deterrent, of course, he won’t easily submit.”
Zhang Baocheng frowned and said, “It is a critical time now. I told you not to use Martial Force because I don’t want you to make a big deal of this and then get burned, implicating ourselves. But we are also pressed for time and can’t keep waiting. Starting tomorrow, find a few fierce-looking men from Marquis, pretend to be Second Aunt’s distant relatives, and make sure to teach that kid a lesson. He won’t submit until he has suffered. The demolition project is approaching the negotiation and signing phase, and I worry about unexpected problems. His building is worth at least 100 million; we simply can’t miss out on that.”
Second Aunt, who went to Yan Fei’s home to cause a commotion, said, “Boss Zhang, when you sought me out for help, you said once I accomplish the task, the benefits you promised me can’t be less!”
Zhang Baocheng replied, “Don’t worry, as long as you handle this matter, the one million we promised you won’t be a penny short.”
Second Aunt seemed very happy and said, “Rest assured, Boss Zhang, I’ll visit that Yan tomorrow. I’ll find a chance to get in his room, then initiate physical contact with him, and as soon as there’s an opportunity for physical contact, I will tear my clothes and shout that he’s indecently assaulting me. Then your men can rush in and give him a good beating.”
Second Xie said disdainfully, “Yan Fei, indecently assaulting you? Even if your acting is convincing, who would believe that?”
Zhang Baocheng glared at Second Xie and said, “You don’t care what others think, we just need an excuse. Understand? All we need is an excuse. Does the specific nature of the excuse matter?”
No longer daring to question, Second Xie asked, “Brother Cheng, are we really going to beat him up hard?”
Zhang Baocheng turned and slapped him, angrily saying, “Are you stupid? We’re here for the money, not to commit murder, so why should we really beat him? What if he gets injured and hides in the Hospital? Who will we go to for a signature then? This time, it’s just to scare him. When hitting him, avoid his vital parts, but we must make him feel the pain.”
Second Xie said, “That guy works out often, has some brute strength; I even suffered a bit in a tussle with him before. I’ve long been displeased with him and thought I could give him a proper lesson!”
Zhang Baocheng consoled his subordinate, saying, “We’ll talk about it after this blows over. Once we have the money, I won’t care what you do to him. You can dispose of him any way you like, even killing him wouldn’t bother me. That kid dared to reject me several times, giving me no face at all. I’ve wanted to deal with him for a long time. When the time comes, give him a few extra chops for me.”
The voices of the people in the room weren’t loud, but the Drone’s audio collection Equipment captured everything clearly. And upon hearing the sinister plans discussed in that room, Yan Fei broke out in a cold sweat, never expecting to overhear such a ruthless scheme.
This plan was simply too vicious. Had Yan Fei not heard it with his own ears, he might well have fallen for their Trap. And then, like a mute who has eaten bitter herbs, he would have too much misery for words. How terrible his fate might be, Yan Fei could perfectly imagine. Meanwhile, Zhang Baocheng proved to be cruel and merciless, wanting Yan Fei’s life simply because of past rejections, using such a venomous scheme just for his real estate, disregarding Yan Fei’s life completely. Had Yan Fei been an ordinary person, his end would have been utterly tragic.
For the first time in his life, Yan Fei felt the urge to kill someone. This Zhang Baocheng was not only after his fortune but also wanted his life, using such poisonous stratagems for his property, treating his life as nothing. If Yan Fei were just an ordinary person, his end would have been exceptionally grim.
Zhang Baocheng, Second Xie, and Second Aunt continued to discuss, revising and improving the plan, how to allocate personnel, and how to deal a fatal blow to Yan Fei…
It wasn’t until half an hour later that the few of them finished their discussion. Second Aunt stood up to take her leave, and Second Xie escorted her out. Only Zhang Baocheng and the slim young man remained in the room; the latter hadn’t spoken a word, looking sleepy-eyed and about to doze off.
Zhang Baocheng turned and asked, “Xiao Kong, do you have any news from over there this time?”
The slim man named Xiao Kong finally spoke up, his Mandarin not very standard, “They said to keep lying low, not to cause any trouble, lest you delay their important matters.”
Zhang Baocheng chuckled, “I didn’t want to meddle either, but that kid actually has such wealth. I feel like I’m missing out if I don’t make a move, as the saying goes ‘to not take when given is to bring trouble upon oneself’. But rest assured, this matter will be resolved quickly, I guarantee it won’t interfere with their main event.”
Xiao Kong said, “Remember, those internet influencers and expert resources you control are not yours, they belong to the Organization. You’re just managing them, so don’t let them take action rashly and risk exposing themselves. Your using them to manipulate public opinion against Yan Fei likely has already caught the higher-ups’ attention.”
Zhang Baocheng offered an awkward smile and said, “This was just a one-time thing, I guarantee I won’t arbitrarily utilize their power from now on.”
Xiao Kong said, “They are pawns in the hands of the Organization, poised to play a significant role in the future. They can only publicize content provided by the Organization. Your job is to maintain their relationships and grow their influence. You know, if the Organization’s mission fails because of you, you’re well aware how dire your consequences would be.”
Zhang Baocheng wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, “I understand that, please convey to the Organization that I will absolutely work hard for them and ensure the completion of any task given by the Organization.”
Yan Fei was shocked; he hadn’t expected to overhear such information. Zhang Baocheng was actually part of a Mysterious Organization, and those internet influencers and experts were under his command to slander him—it seemed like there was some plot at play. Xiao Kong appeared to have a high status within the Organization, and Zhang Baocheng was very wary of him, speaking cautiously.
Xiao Kong said, “That’s for the best, as long as you work well for the Organization, you won’t lack future benefits.”
Zhang Baocheng nodded repeatedly and said, “It’s my duty.”
Xiao Kong inquired, “I’m curious, after it’s all over, will you really give Second Aunt the million?”
Zhang Baocheng snorted coldly, “That woman is not only greedy but also vicious. How could I possibly give her so much money? People like her have one weakness—they’re afraid of dying. So, if she knows what’s good for her after things are done, then all is well. But if she causes trouble, I wouldn’t mind making her disappear.”
Xiao Kong chuckled, said nothing more, then took something out of his pocket and asked, “You’ve seen a lot around here; tell me, do you recognize what this is?”
Zhang Baocheng took the item from Xiao Kong’s hand and inspected it closely.
Yan Fei grew curious, but the angle was slightly off, and the Drone couldn’t see clearly what it was. So, the Drone cautiously turned to another side, preparing to adjust the angle to inspect the item. Out of the blue, a gust of wind arose, and Yan Fei, caught off guard, couldn’t control the Drone. The Drone swayed in the wind and accidentally hit the outside wall of the window, making a faint noise.
Inside the room, Xiao Kong’s ears twitched; he actually heard the faint sound outside. He snatched the item back from Zhang Baocheng’s hands and took a quick step to the window, pulling back the curtain to see the Drone hovering outside the window.
Yan Fei was stunned for a moment, then quickly realized what was happening and swiftly raised the Drone, ready to leave the place. Xiao Kong punched out, shattering the window glass, and as he stuck his head out, he saw the Drone ascending. Xiao Kong sneered and casually grabbed a chair, hurling it at the ascending Drone.
As the Drone was rapidly climbing, it saw the chair flying toward it. Yan Fei initially didn’t pay it much mind, but to his astonishment, the chair pursued the Drone with incredible speed, catching up with it in the air. The Drone hastily tried to dodge but couldn’t completely avoid it and was hit squarely by the chair.
Yan Fei, careless for a moment, felt the Drone Avatar suffer damage for the first time. And Yan Fei, who was physically linked to the Drone Avatar, immediately felt a surge of intense pain, as if his own body had been struck by the chair.
