Chapter 516: Chapter 510: Risking Everything for Wealth and Honor
Finn Lewis squinted at the horizon, with Parasite Humans still running beneath his feet towards that direction. He took a deep breath and yelled out, “Full armor coverage, optical camouflage, infrared concealment, activate anti-gravity system.”
As his words faded into the air, the protective suit on his body began to transform. Soon, Finn was completely enveloped in the suit, with even the air he breathed being filtered by it. A faint blue light shined on him and his figure disappeared into thin air. Feeling his body lightly tremble, it was as if Finn had lost all sense of weight.
When the anti-gravity system activated, Finn jumped off the rooftop. He felt light as a feather and beneath him were the constantly running Parasite Humans. Although he activated the anti-gravity system, it didn’t entirely cancel out gravity, just reduced it, adjusting the diminished force according to his movements.
A month on the brink of death had sharpened his calmness and control, enabling him to utilize every bit of his bodily strength. Despite the crazed running of the Parasite Humans below, Finn accurately stepped onto the head of one, and with a little push of his right foot, he drifted swiftly forward.
Finn almost knocked the Parasite Human underneath him to the ground. However, he had already rushed ahead nearly tens of meters. As agile as a fictional martial arts master, Finn sped through the sea of frenzied Parasite Humans. His speed almost rivaled that of a cheetah’s, sixty to seventy kilometers an hour.
The Parasite Humans hardly reached half his speed. Nonetheless, Finn darted towards their meeting point, lightly stepping on their heads. While the Parasite Humans stumbled every once in a while, they did not cry out or react aggressively. Instead, after regaining balance, they simply continued running forward.
“Zero, what is this dark purple slime?” Finn asked directly. He was completely packed inside the suit now, so he wasn’t worried his voice would be transmitted out.
“An organic fluid filled with energy. It provides the energy necessary for the birth of the Insect Species.” Zero answered accurately.
“Does it corrode?” Finn asked with curiosity.
“It’s not corrosive, it’s a kind of dissolving. It can dissolve all other organic matter and turn it into organic fluid necessary for the evolution of the Insect Species.”
“Can I step on it?” The path ahead was flat. Neither the Insect Species units nor the Parasite Humans had stepped into this dark purple organic fluid. To Finn, it felt creepy.
“No problem, this organic fluid won’t dissolve non-organic material.”
“Good.” Finn didn’t need to step on it; he could just float in the air. Although he moved slowly due to the weak propulsion system of the suit, the anti-gravity system could make him float in the air, letting him travel forward at a speed of about ten kilometers per hour.
Soon after, Finn approached the huge, spore-like object. As he came closer, he noticed that the dark purple “spore” was not dissolving but peeling off layer by layer in an orderly manner from top to bottom.
