Chapter 38: Quest Completed

"Ahem, I got a dagger with water poison effect," General Tark said with a cough and continued, "I want to exchange it with a long-range weapon if possible."

"General, I have a pistol here that shoots a snake projection bullet of a random element between fire and wind," a soldier said as he decided to exchange.

Erix, Rin, Isabella, and others just watched the gathering on the ground while standing in the corner.

The gate was closed, so none of them were farming. Instead, they were exchanging weapons and skill scrolls.

"Seniors, did you all already get your job class?" Hathor suddenly asked. noVe-Lb-1n

"Of course, they would have gotten it. We got one mystic essence for killing one zombie, so they should have definitely killed more than by now."

The topic attracted everyone's attention as they looked at Erix's group.

"I know that. But I didn't see any special power related to job class when they fought. That's why I was asking," Hathor said with a wry smile while scratching the back of his head.

Hathor had played games, and even though this was the real world, the term was the same, and every job class would give an extraordinary power or some other boosts, but he didn't see it while Erix and others fought.

"Once you collect a hundred Mystic Essence, you can choose a job class. But to awaken it, you need to complete tasks, which are a bit tricky-" Erix explained. "-so, we have yet to finish those tasks."

"Anyway, since you all are done, then we have something important to announce," Rin said with a smile as she decided to drop the bomb.

"What is it?" General Tark asked curiously.

"As you all know, our group is the most powerful, and we also helped you get strong. So, I think we need a powerful leadership group," Rin said before she spread her right arm toward Erix and others with a smile. "This group."

"I agree!"

"Yeah! I also agree!"

"Without you, that frog monster would've killed all of us!"

"That's right."

Everyone started shouting excitedly and agreed that Erix and his group should be the leader!

However, there were two whose faces turned sour.

Ben and General Tark!

"I think Senator Ben and General Tark also don't have any problem with it, right?" Rin said with a smile as she looked at General Tark and Ben.

"Cough..." Ben coughed and felt everyone's gaze on him.

General Tark also saw people looking at them, with some even having slightly fanatic expressions.

All of them were given a path to live and hope by Erix, Rin, and others, so many were determined to follow them.

Although their determination contained a core selfish reason, it was normal. People wanted to follow them and let them lead because they were strong and reliable.

Staying with and following them would make them stronger, but it would mainly give them a strong pillar and reliance—hence, a sense of protection.

'If we disagree...' Ben thought as he felt a chill crawling his spine and immediately broadly smiled before saying, "Haha, you are joking. We, of course, don't have any problem with this arrangement."

"You saved everyone in this military base and helped everyone get strong, so it's only natural that you are fit to lead in our current situation," Ben added.

"Indeed. The world we knew is no more. Our meager and rigid experience wouldn't be helpful," General Tark said eloquently with a wry smile.

Right after those two finished speaking, Erix, Rin, Isabella, Lena, Serina, all bodyguards, and even Toshin, who was in his room, heard a voice in their heads about the quest.

[ The quest: Dungeon Call has been completed. ]

[ Congratulations. A random talent stone has been stored in your inventory]

[ Dungeon Gate opening: 9 hours and 59 minutes.]

"We'll open our boxes later," Erix said.

Rin, Isabella, Lena, Serina, and the bodyguards nodded.

"Everyone!" Erix shouted as everyone's attention was directed at him. Seeing that, he continued, "All of you have reached level five or six and got at least one or two skills."

"Yes!"

"Did any of you get a skill that can regrow limbs?"

All of them instantly looked at Erix's missing leg.

"I got a healing skill. It says it can cure wounds but doesn't mention regrowing limbs. Want to try it?" a middle-aged man with short white hair and a slim build said. He was a doctor.

"Yes. No harm in trying," Erix said in a wry voice as he dryly chuckled.

The doctor walked towards Erix from the group and sat on one of his knees before his hand touched Erix's thigh and used his healing skill.

Alas, it didn't work. Erix's leg was not regrowing.

"Unfortunately, it's not working."

"No problem. What's your name, mister?" Erix asked.

"John Rees."

"Thanks for trying," Erix said with a nod.

"I also have a healing skill. How about we try it?" A college girl with twin blond ponytails said.

"Sure," Erix nodded.

Everyone wanted to help Erix if possible, and over ten people had healing skills.

Unfortunately, none of them could regrow his leg.
