61 Lightning Rin!

"I hope she can awaken it this time," Isabella said as she looked at Rin, who was trying her best to endure and succeed.

"She will," Erix smiled confidently.

It was plainly apparent that Rin was in tremendous pain from her expression and eyes, but she was not giving up.

Her progress bar was filling up, and she could sense she was getting close to acquiring the mystical force that would let her control lightning as she pleased and even produce it from her mana without using skills.

She could feel it was almost within her grasp.

So, she continued despite the pain and pressure that her body and mind were experiencing.

Like Erix, she also extensively suffered when sensing and trying to control an element for the first time. Nay, she suffered even more than Erix, given the number of attempts and how she decided to acquire her lightning affinity.

Her consciousness could shut anytime if she lost her momentum for even half a second, so she had to stay awake and in focus. It must feel like the element was a part of her body, her mind.

By now, she could no longer think properly, but the desire and the feeling of bathing in the element led her to continue.

To her, it felt like hours were passing as her eyeballs were rapidly trembling, but not even a minute had passed since Pelian Angel died.

Suddenly, she swung her Blade Eater and sharply screamed, her ferocious voice mixing with the booming thunder, which was no less intimidating than a majestic roar.

Finally, a burst of lightning exploded from her body as Rin grinned despite her lips and eyes twitching due to pain and shot a trail of lightning in the sky that transformed into a wingless dragon.

She felt absolute control and shaped the lightning with her will.

[Congratulations. You have acquired Lightning Affinity.]

[ Lightning Affinity]

Realm: Alpha.

_Description: Attunded to Lightning. Ability to turn mana into lightning. Manipulation of lightning.

'Eh, this is different than Erix's affinity panel. He can't produce metal from mana. I guess it depends on elements:

Rin flew down towards Erix and Isabella with a jolly grin. "I did it!"

"Good job," Erix smiled.

"Now, only I am left," Isabella wryly smiled. "I'll have to try harder."

"You will succeed soon, Isabelal-sis. Let's first return to the base so you two can awaken your class by absorbing the cores. After that, we can enter Limitless Plane and practice there."

Erix nodded. "I'm sure it will be possible to awaken affinity in the limitless plane."

...G

The trio returned to the military base and saw that many people had already awoken and were going out.

They also saw Hathor's group fighting mutated creatures half a kilometer from the military base.

All of them had slept early after constantly fighting yesterday, so it made sense that they woke up within seven hours, especially since they had leveled up and gotten stronger.

When they entered the military base, the people inside quickly approached them.

"Leader, was it you that brought this dungeon gate here?!"

"It won't spawn monsters, right? In novels I read, some dungeons sometimes spawn monsters outside."

"Leader, are you planning to bring some people with you to train?"

Erix, Isabella, and Rin were slightly stumped at the bombardment of questions.

"Let me clear this," Erix softly said before he loudly coughed. "Everyone, please listen to me for a minute!"

Everyone turned silent.

"First, this dungeon will reward you with items and materials, but you can only enter once you reach level 51. Be sure to enter as a party of ten people or more!"

"Second, we will no longer stay here after today."

Lena and Serina had just arrived there after hearing the commotion but were not surprised to hear about Erix's announcement of leaving. They had already talked about that yesterday.

"That's all, folks! Good luck in your endeavors!"

After saying that, Erix, Rin, and Isabella walked away from the group.

After Erix, Rin, and Isabella left, Lena and Serina spoke with the people briefly before they returned to the bunker and walked toward Erix and Rin's room.

"Mom, we should also leave for phoenix city after we reach level 51 and clear the dungeon," Serina suggested.

"Of course," Lena nodded before she knocked.

Rin opened the door and invited them in but suddenly remembered something and almost wanted to facepalm. 'But they won't really notice...I guess?'n()O.)V.(E-(l--B/)I(-n

Erix had removed his mask, so his pale skin might stand out, but his eyes were closed, so that was one worry off.

'Hmm, but I don't think Erix really needs to hide his race... who can even harm us here? Unlike that angel, I doubt people would want to harm us for such a silly reason. It's not like Erix is roaming around biting people, humph!'

"Eh, Erix without his mask? He looks handsome," Serina smiled.

"What are they doing?" Lena curiously asked, seeing Erix and Isabella holding a glowing orb in their hands while sitting cross- legged with their eyes closed.

"Absorbing origin core. You can get it from killing supra-order monsters, but they don't drop from all supra-order monsters," Rin said before she sat on the bed.

"So, how did yesterday go for you?"

"I reached level 48, and Serina reached level 49," Lena answered with a smile. "It was a fruitful adventure behind the military grounds since the forest is near and the barren area in the middle also had monsters."

"We played safe and slowly killed since we have long-range attacks," Serina added with a grin before she asked, "What's your level, sister Rin?"

She could feel Rin become way more powerful.

"Fifty-four. Leveling up becomes harder once you cross level fifty."

They talked with Rin for several minutes as Rin told them about important information that could help them and their experience in hitting monsters.

"Oh yeah, don't think that angels in reality are the same type you read in books and folklore," Rin snorted. "Just consider them humans who are drunk in power and authority and think they are above others."

"Of course, not all angels might be like that since personality is a thing, but the one we encountered was like that."

"They are shining..." Serina pointed at Erix and Isabella as her eyes slightly widened in surprise. "What's happening?"

"Class awakening," Rin grinned.

"Ah! You crossed level 50. Yeah, you must have completed the tasks," Lena nodded. "How powerful did your class make you?"

"Very powerful," Rin chuckled. "Did you also choose time-limited tasks for the upgraded class?"

Lena and Serina nodded.

"It seems that most people who want to get stronger would choose that option," Rin nodded as it was understandable.

'But people can rank up their class, so it doesn't matter in a way. Although it should take longer to rank up than directly getting an upgraded class by completing the time-limited tasks.

"By the way, why is Erix's face so pale?" Serina curiously asked. "It's kinda strange. Was he poisoned?"

Erix's ears twitched. Since he finished absorbing the core and awakened his class, his focus spread, and he heard what Serina said.

However, he also felt that it would be fine to reveal his face.

Initially, he feared it to reveal to others since he felt that humans would go after him, but there were not many humans to begin with, and he became powerful quickly as well.

'So what if I am a hybrid zombie? I am still Erix, Erix opened his eyes, black and red. They faintly glowed, causing Serina and Lena to get startled.

"I am no longer a pure human since a zombie bit me. However, I managed to retain my mind and sanity, so I somehow became a hybrid zombie," Erix calmly said with a faint smile.

"Don't worry. I won't bite you, haha."

'But, I do want to bite someone or, rather...scratch someone, A cold light flickered deep within Erix's eyes.
