203 Don’t date the crazy one, please! part Anne almost finished ironing her dress, two weeks had passed since Ryu took charge of the goblin village and, even though he wasn’t that busy, he had to supervise goblins and teach them whatever he could until they were ready to do things on their own.
Bardun was supposed to have returned to the village last week, but there had been no news of him, but Ryu was done worrying, especially because he had a special date today.
Anne put on her new dress while it was still warm, it was a plain dress crafted by Mia but it had a cute lace around the waist and Anne made sure to provide some imput on how to make it look more classy.
She washed her face and put on some handmade make up while looking at her own reflection in a water mirror. In a single word, she was gorgeous.
Ryu came to pick her up early in the morning, the agreement was that they were to spend the whole day together and, if things went well, they were allowed to spend the night too. The only condition was that the others too will get their chance, no matter how things went.
Anne tried to keep her excitement hidden behind a poker face, but Mia did no such thing. She was ecstatic, not only her master would finally pick a girlfriend which would hopefully increase the nourishment she would be able to get from him, but also she wanted to be part of a family.
She knew that humans were selfish creatures that didn’t like to share their love, even though poligamy was accepted it was still uncommon for the average people. What she couldn’t understand was what would her role be after Ryu got into a relationship. Would her master still feed her directly? She really hoped so, she looked forward to those little intimacy moments they shared and, without noticing it, she had already developed romantic feelings for Ryu.
Anne greeted her date with a soft smile that drew his attention, the light pink on her lips did wonders for her face and it was the first time Ryu saw something like that. He took her by the arm and left for their first stop.
Ryu had planned the whole day, it wasn’t something that occured to him, in fact it was Anne herself that told him that it was expected of the man to plan the date. He didn’t know if it was true or not, but he complied nonetheless.
.....
First stop were the stables. There were lots of small wolves being raised by goblins to ride on them, it was very rare for goblin raiders to survive and everytime they lost a wolf they had to capture a new one and train them. It was only thanks to Anne’s suggestion that they started breeding them.
It was still too soon to see the results, but Ryu’s choice to take Anne over there was on spot. She loved any outdoors activity, and spending time with animals was the next best thing. She had always tried to hide that fact from everyone out of a sense of guilt, her family was always against any activity that could result in getting dirty or not looking great.
It could have seemed like an inconsiderate choice by Ryu, because she had put on such a cute attire and she had made so much effort to look more beautiful than ever. But he was the only one who knew just how much did she love animals.
Whenever Ryu wasn’t near, Anne would cuddle up with Mochi or brush Famine’s furry loin. But he found out about it from the goblins who reported directly to him.
After spending part of the morning feeding the wolves and bonding with Famine and Mochi, they headed to the newly inaugurated restaurant in the platforms.
The platforms was the name of the ‘ceiling’ over the goblin village. Built on top of the trees, it was a vast open space perfect for building all sorts of facilities.
The idea of building in there wasn’t just because they looked nice, but they provided a safe place to watch over the distance.
The tree tops moved from side to side with a creaking sound, making it seem as if they were on a boat in a calm weather. It was a pleasant feeling that everyone enjoyed from time to time.
The goblin restaurant was supervised by Sera, but she didn’t work in there. All she did was teach goblins as many recipes as she could and they did the rest themselves, but that didn’t mean they were bad at their job.
What goblin cooks lacked in experience and creativity, they made up for in hard work and in following the recipes so strictly it almost seemed religious.
The first course they were served was a dish Ryu wasn’t familiar with, it was a small bird called fizzlebird, as their name implied they had a strange texture that felt similar to spicy food but it was something entirely different.
Ryu had to close his eyes to enjoy the full experience of a new taste, but Anne was distracted. There was a lot in her mind and she just didn’t know how to put it together.
“Say Ryu, why did you agree in all of this dating nonsense?”
“What do you mean nonsense? I think it’s a nice solution to our current situation”
“I mean, yes... but I know you’re not the kind of guy who cares much about these stuff and here I am, sitting in a nice table in a cute restaurant located in the middle of a goblin village. I don’t know what I’m doing anymore”
“Let me get this straight, you fought the others to be with me, but now you don’t know if this is what you really wanted?”
Ryu said lifting an eyebrow, Luke had told him how complicated women were, in fact he always complained about it, but this was something far beyond what he had expected.
“No, yes, no”
“Make up your mind already”
Ryu complained as he held on to his head with both hands.
“It’s not that I don’t like you, but a lot of things have happened and, to be honest, I just don’t want to be alone anymore”
Anne’s eyes started tearing up, leaving Ryu in the most awkward situation.
