Chapter 206 - Who Is it?

Alex instructed his secretary to get a police missing file report just in case Allison can't be found within 24 hours.

He already had the number of a private investigator that will help him locate the whereabouts of his sister.

He was not in the mood to report to his office right now, but he will eventually have to go to his office in the afternoon to sign some important doc.u.ments that needed his authorization.

Now and then, he would pick up his phone and call his sister's number.

This time, her phone can no longer be contacted!

As if it was turned off deliberately!

By whom?

By his sister or by the people who were holding his sister captive?

Right now, he was trying not to entertain the idea that someone abducted his sister! But that idea keeps popping up in his mind.

If his guess is correct, what could be the reason for kidnapping his sister?

Kidnap for ransom?

God, he hopes he is wrong!

But...If that's the case then he is willing to pay any ransom money just to get his sister back alive!

He changed into his swimwear, wore the robe around his body, and exited his bedroom, he needs to take a dive in the pool and loosen up his tense body! That's right, he's going to the pool and from there he will continue analyzing the mystery of his sister's disappearance.

Outside the door, Alex saw Greg getting out of his bedroom.

He invited his brother. "Bro, come, join me in the pool!"

Greg nods his head. "Alright, let me change into my swimming trunk first, you go ahead, I'll follow a few minutes later," he said.

"Okay," answered Alex and went down the stairs to proceed to the pool area.

Greg knocked at the door of Caroline's room. "Car...would you like to join us in the pool area? My brother and I will dive into the pool to shake away some stress," he said.

The door was opened by Caroline.

"Just go ahead and join your brother. I'm not in the mood for swimming. I'm currently browsing for TV news and listening to radio stations online hoping we can hear some breaking news about your sister..." she answered.

"Okay, thank you, Car," Greg said sadly as great stress marred his gaunt face.

"Don't worry, Allison will surely return before the 24 hours waiting period," Caroline reassured him. "Go now..." she urged him.

"Alright," said Greg and took a step forward heading to the direction of the stairway.

Caroline watched as Greg was going down the stairs wearing a forlorn look on his face. A faint smile appeared on her lips.

She closed the door and went back to the bed, she glances at the TV screen, waiting for the breaking news that she desperately wanted!

She wishes for a piece of breaking news confirming that Allison encounters a tragic death on the road.

That kind of news would make her happy!

She was now past the period of feeling guilty for her wicked evil thoughts.

If Allison's death can give back her freedom right now, then she welcomes her death with open arms!

She was turning into a shameless, cruel, and evil person right now, she doesn't care anymore! What important is, she can free herself from this complicated situation!

She lies on the bed and closed her eyes for a moment.

Imagining in her mind...what she will do and what's she's going to tell her husband and family after her sudden comeback in their lives.

Well...she would just claim that she has finally recovered from her doubts and insecurities and finally found her inner-self.

If they would ask her what is the reason why she pulled the stunt of disappearing act she will just answer them that all the horror and psychological torture that Joseph's has put her through...they come back suddenly in her mind and traumatized her that is why she needed space for herself to subdue the demons trying to create havoc in her marriage life.

She would just say that she suffered nervous breakdown all of a sudden and feel not adequate and now worthy to be Mike's loving wife, that she was perilously troubled by her bitter past.

She will play the r-ape victim haunted by her dark past that is why she needed to go away for a while to sort out her feelings and make herself whole again.

Everyone knows of her tragic experience with Joseph...If she uses that reason they would take pity on her and try to console her and they would no longer insist on interrogating her.

A triumphant smile curled up in Caroline's lips.

Wow, everything seems to be aligning with her plan right now!

She clapped her hands in glee.

Before, she was having a hard time thinking about the perfect excuse for her sudden disappearance. She needs something solid and foolproof! And after going through everything, she realized that her scary experience with Joseph can be used as a perfect excuse to make her husband—willing to welcome her back with open arms!

She stared at the ceiling of the room...this time her smile was wide and marvelous!

Hmm, she can almost see herself going back to Blue Bell Residences welcome happily by her husband!

She can smell her husband's manly scent! Oh, God, she misses him so much!

All she needed right now is for Allison's dead body to be recovered somewhere and the news stations will be reporting it!

If that will happen, she will leave this house immediately and come running to her husband's side!

She's feeling happy and hopeful!

She will reward and pamper herself because she already had the perfect excuse to use for her glorious comeback to her husband and family.

She will reward herself with a few minutes of an invigorating shower!

She went to the bathroom and indulged in a luxurious shower.

A few hours later.

Lunchtime.

The brothers already finished swimming in the pool and went to the dining room for lunch.

Caroline descended from the stairs and proceed to the dining room, she took her seat beside Greg.

"Any news on TV?" Alex asked her.

Caroline was shaking her head. "None so far..."

"I already assigned Rudy to call all the hospitals in the city to inquire if someone has been admitted today bearing Allison's name," Alex's shared the info in a somber voice.

"That's good!" Caroline responded and smiled.

Alex's studied Caroline's face closely.

Between the three of them that were dining right now...Caroline has the calmest demeanor. Maybe, because she is not blood-related to any of them and Allison's disappearance doesn't affect her like it affected him and Greg.

He was speculating, that the moment they will know that something bad happened to his sister, Caroline will leave his house instantly!

He was having that kind of premonition right now.

Caroline felt that someone was staring at her...she raised her gaze and came in contact with Alex. He stared at her with a piercing look. She avoided his gaze and fixed her eyes on the food on her plate.

From that moment onward until they finished their meals, Caroline has successfully avoided Alex's gaze.

They went back upstairs. Alex entered his office room while Greg retired to his room.

Caroline goes straight to her room, feeling bothered by the way Alex scrutinizes her face as if she was guilty of something...

Was her face that transparent or he just finds it odd that she was not looking affected at all. She can't feel any ounce of sympathy for Allison no matter how hard she tried. Maybe, because she was looking forward to her freedom and Allison's return would hamper that.

Anyways, she would not pay much attention to Alex and she would avoid meeting his gaze from now on.

Thirty minutes later, Alex was exiting his bedroom, going downstairs, and boarding his car going to his office.

Back in Caroline's bedroom.

She was sprawled lazily in the bed taking her afternoon nap. She feels sleepy during this time... yawning, she closed her eyes to sleep while the television continues playing in the background.

Two hours later.

Alex returned to his mansion from his office.

He went to his office room and placed the missing person report form on his desk. He already filled up the form with all the necessary details about his sister. Although, he wasn't supposed to be the one who needs to file it since they were adopted by different families, still, she was his blood relative and he doesn't want to bother Allison's adopted brother, not yet!

Before he left his office, he called Owen for updates, he got a negative reply. He was getting fearful of his sister's well being. What if she was out there somewhere...needing his help?

He released a deep sigh. He lowered himself on the swivel chair and stared at the window. His gaze was greeted with the green leaves of the tree blown gently by the gentle breeze outside. He closed his eyes and massage his temple.

"Sister...where are you!?" he said loudly.

Three hours later.

Nighttime.

Alex, Greg, and Caroline went to the dining room to eat dinner. The atmosphere around the brothers was more tensed this time since it's already night time and Allison has not come back yet.

After consuming their meals, they retired into the living room, discussing Allison's mysterious disappearance.

Alex looked at Rudy and asked him. "Did you already called all the hospitals situated in the city?"

"Yes, Sir. But no one was admitted today with Madam's name," Rudy answered promptly.

Alex took a deep breath feeling frustrated. He runs his fingers through his hair in desperation. "You may go now, Rudy," he said.

"Thank you, Sir," Rudy replied and stood up. He left the living room going to the dining room to join the other house staff for dinner.

Alex looked at his brother. "Any news?"

"Nothing..." Greg shook his head sorrowfully.

Alex glanced at Caroline.

She shook her head. "Nothing so far..." she answered.

Alex's face was submerged in great stress and worries. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall. It's already 7:30 in the evening.

When the clock strikes at midnight, it only means one thing, Allison was already missing for 24 hours.

But he can no longer wait for midnight...he must go to the police now! He stood up and picked up the enveloped containing the missing person file report. "I'll go to the Police Precinct to file a missing report for Allison," he said in a dispirited voice.

He was about to move towards the door...when suddenly they heard the sound of a car stopping in front of the door.

They looked at each other in the eyes.

They rush towards the door to investigate who just arrive?***
