It was a sunny morning the next day when Caroline woke up.
The time was 6:30 am.
After the heavy rain last night, the sun was shining brightly up in the sky, it expelled the gloomy atmosphere that lingered in the room where Caroline was staying.
She was sitting on the edge of the bed, brushing her hair, when she remembered what Allison told her about asking someone on what to do with her baby?
Hmm...Does it look like Allison was depending on someone for advice? There are only two people who she deeply cares about, they are no other than her siblings!
The two brothers!
Which of them? It could be Alex?
Nah, more like Greg!
Right! It's Greg that Allison was asking for advice regarding the fate of her unborn baby inside her w.o.m.b.
C-could it be Greg—the key to stopping Allison's craziness?
Allison planted her on Greg's side, to cheer him up and become his companion, but what if Greg will no longer want her? Can he convince Allison to set her free as well?
But she remembered also that Greg willingly set her free while she was about to board the taxicab going home.
But why Allison still insisted on keeping her on Greg's side?
Could it be that...Greg is willing again to welcome her back in his life?
Or maybe because her presence brought a positive change in Greg's health, that is why Allison wanted her to be on Greg's side until he will finally recover from his illness. If Greg will be miraculously healed from his AIDS/HIV illness, the more she won't be able to get out of his life.
Allison would always use the death of those people to frame and blackmail her in staying on Greg's side forever.
This is going to be her life now...
The only way to get out is to admit her crime, serve her sentence in jail, and dragged Allison with her.
She regretted somehow that she didn't surrender to the police authority right away after killing Brenda. She can't also blame herself during those confusing times because she was afraid to get convicted in the crime that she only made to protect her own life.
Now the life that she was protecting was going downhill.
Worst...her unborn baby will be dragged along in the ride of madness and horror.
The price she has to pay for delaying the inevitable was too much for her to overcome. It sometimes drained the will out of her system to continue living, giving her suicidal thoughts. She's longing for the peace, calm and quiet of life somewhere. Dreaming of eternal peace far away from her conflicted life.
She never expected that her path and Greg will cross again and their second meeting resulted in tragic murders of several people!
If she only had known that her life will go this way, she would have tried her hardest not to meet Greg and his family at all, especially Allison.
But she has no way of knowing what will happen next, events just continue unfolding in her life in a way that she didn't expect.
She used to dream of spending a happy life with her husband Mike and raising their children. Now that dreams turn blurry, but she can't lose hope now, she must focus on bringing a healthy baby in this world and hand the child to the father.
After giving the baby to Mike.
She will go to the police station and surrender, then confessed everything about what Allison has done to her. If she can't prove that she killed Brenda out of self-defense then she is willing to spend time in jail just to give an ending to Allison's madness.
Maybe, after serving her sentence in jail, she can finally be free from the demons that are haunting her life now.
She planned her escape after accidentally killing Brenda. Unfortunately, destiny won't let her get away for too long.
Now she's back in square one.
Her baby's arrival in this world comes at the wrong time! Not when she's facing the greatest trial in her life. But despite that, she loves her unborn baby so much! It's her and Mike's offspring, the fruit of their love!
Right now...she finally made up her mind...before she goes to prison she must make sure that her husband and his family won't be dragged with her mess.
Her excitement the other day of finally going home has evaporated into thin air. She can never go back to her husband's side peacefully unless Allison will finally give up on her.
After analyzing everything, she's ready now to return to Greg's side, it's better by his side than being imprisoned inside this room for many months to come.
Outside, she can find ways how to improve her situation.
Here in this room, she can only wait, what's going to happen next and it's killing her inside.
She needs to get outside and breathe free once more!
All of a sudden, the door was opening...
Owen entered the room bringing her breakfast. He put down the tray in the table and looked at Caroline. "Do you want anything? I can get it for you," he offered politely.
Caroline nods her head. "Thank you for bringing my breakfast. Can you please tell Allison that I'm now ready to go back to Greg's side. How about tomorrow?" she said in a cheerful voice.
Owen smiled. "That's good to hear. Of course, I'll tell Madam that you're ready..." He turned around going back to the door and exited.
Caroline released a deep sigh while staring at the closed door. Then she glanced at the food in the tray. Time to eat and nourish her baby inside her w.o.m.b.
She went to the table and sat on the chair. It's eggplant omelet, rice, and boiled egg for today. She started eating slowly.
She finished eating thirty minutes later.
After eating breakfast, she went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.
Then she went to the bed and sat down, thinking about how to pass her morning?
Ah, she will watch a doc.u.mentary on how crops and vegetables were being grown inside a greenhouse dome, it looks interesting and informative to watch!
She settled on the bed comfortably and watched the doc.u.mentary.
The program lasted for one hour.
Done watching, she went to the bathroom and take a bath.
Twenty minutes later, she exited the bathroom feeling refreshed. She got addicted to watching a doc.u.mentary on TV, she plans to watch another doc.u.mentary about shrimp farming. Doc.u.mentaries in this kind of topic...transported her to another world...she was able to forget her misery for a few hours.
She was in the middle of watching another doc.u.mentary of shrimp farming when the door opened.
Allison entered the room. She glanced at the television. "I'm glad you're not crying anymore and it looks like you were entertaining yourself. That's good! I hated it when I see you cry. You remind me so much of my younger self when I'm weak and hopeless, I cried a lot and everything changes when I took matters in my own hands. You might hate me right now, but one day, you will realize, that when you don't act right away and seize the opportunity, you will never be able to achieve what you want!" she lectured her.
Caroline muted the TV and listened to Allison's rambling. She hated the woman in front of her with every fiber of her being. But she was careful not to show that hate while she was in Allison's control. This woman has an unstable mind. Allison might go crazy all of a sudden and kill her out of whim.
Allison looked at her in the eyes. "Owen told me that you are now ready to return to Greg's side. Is that right?"
"Yes..." Caroline nodded her head.
"Okay, that's good. I'm glad that you finally realized that unless you give me what I want, I can't give you what you want. If you only stick to our agreement and finish it 'till the end, we don't have this problem right now. Do you understand me, dear?"
Caroline nodded her head. "Yes, I understand."
"Good girl!" Allison clapped her hands in glee. "I hope there will be no more problems in the future. Just stick to your end of the bargain and you will gain your freedom soon. I do hope, that you realized that I have the upper hand, and going against my wishes will only bring you more harm. What I hated the most, is people who don't know how to honor their words and promises. They make my blood boil!" she throws Caroline a murderous look for a fleeting second.
Caroline shivered in fear.
Allison is indeed a force to reckon. She can be loyal, devoted, and overprotective to the people she loves but very cold and ruthless to her enemies.
And right now, Allison was staring at Caroline like a hawk looking at her prey.
"Let me remind you, dear, if you are planning to surrender one day and drag me with you, you won't succeed. You will only bring destruction to yourself. Me, I can pretend that I'm mentally crazy and that is not hard to prove because I already had a record in the mental hospital.
My lawyer can say that I have a relapse that is why I committed the crimes. My punishment?...they will send me back to the mental hospital, not bad. I have been there once, I'll survive. How about you? Would you survive inside the prison?
And didn't you hear the horrors that those pretty women like you had experience in jail? Believe me, those perverted guards will be crawling all over your skin wanting a piece of your beautiful skin.
Trust me, I read a lot, and I know that many beautiful women are being s.e.x.u.a.lly violated inside the prison, but they can't say anything because they were afraid of retaliation from those guards, the conditions inside the jail are terrible, and sometimes you just wish you're dead than alive...
So, if I were you. Used your head wisely. Don't think of revenge on me, instead, be grateful that I help dispose of your enemies. If you know what's best for you, just keep quiet, let me handle the rest because I got your back covered. As long you cooperate with me, no one will know, we'll bring our dark secrets to our grave," Allison grinned.
Caroline stared at Allison's face, swallowing the lump on her throat, digesting her lecture slowly. So...this crazy woman already covered everything, eh? Indeed, she's one step ahead of her.
Allison locked eyes with Caroline for a few minutes, smirking, then she left the room afterward.
Allison was already long gone, but Caroline's eyes were still fixed on the door.
She was speechless...
