Zayn was too interested in the Normies and Blessed to leave them alone. It was a rare sight to see several Normies and Blessed working together.
At most, one or two Normies would be allowed in a group of Blessed Adventurers. Even then, most Normies wouldn't be treated well. Only the truly powerful would be respected. But that was a type of respect that had been forced upon them. They didn't want to die and would thus treat these powerhouses nicely.
That was also why his interest in the group of six was growing. Mike and Miranda, the two Blessed, rushed over to the injured to see how they were doing and if they could help them somehow.
The worry in their eyes and actions was genuine.
'Looking at this, it feels weird to know that Normies are usually never treated like this. Is it because the Gods really think that Normies are descendants of heroes from another world? Do they feel threatened in the Higher Dimension?'
Zayn had come up with many theories over the course of weeks, and a few of them didn't even seem that unlikely.
One of his theories was that the Gods were actually higher lifeforms from the 'Higher Dimension'. He didn't have any concrete evidence for this theory yet, but he made this theory knowing that the Grimoire of the Ancient gave him a few clues with the three written pages it had unveiled.
A theory that was directly related to the Gods, was that Gods were actually trying to bless Normies in order to turn them into devout believers. However, blessing existences originating from another world was not possible. That was what Zayn believed.
He was pretty sure that all heroes from another world were Normies, and that they had unique powers which made even the higher lifeforms fear them. That was why these Gods chose to start influencing their devout believers, creating a bad omen around the existence of Normies.
Zayn knew that there were certain Normies who had given birth to children who were later blessed. He was not yet sure if his guess was correct, but he presumed that if a Normie and a Blessed gave birth to a child, it was more inclined to be blessed than two Normies giving birth to a child that would later be blessed.
The chances for the latter were extremely low, while the former had a 60% chance to be blessed.
Zayn wanted to research this a little more but he believed that the genetics of the 'heroes' from another world was like a protection layer that defended the body from the forceful influence of the Gods' Blessing.
He was pretty sure that he was right with this theory even if he didn't have any concrete evidence here either. It was worth researching more, which was also why he was looking for the Normie Union.
He was hoping to find out more about the people that had been pulled into this world.
It may not be helpful in his circumstances but was that really important? Zayn was curious, so he would do as he pleased to find out more information.
Thus, he approached the small group of Normies and Blessed after the battle was over.
As for the ownerless soul particles he devoured from the two Trolls he had killed, they were neatly distributed into the Grimoire of the Ancient's empty pages, to accelerate the replenishment of his Spirits' power. This was just for safety's sake, of course!
"Hello everyone. I am sorry for stealing your kills, but I thought that it was better to deal with the Trolls before they could cause too much damage."
Zayn's voice rang throughout the small clearing. His voice was polite and calm. There was also a trace of warmth that could be felt by the young men and women in the clearing.
Their attention turned over to the origin of the voice, where they saw a teenager with black silky hair and dashing ocean-blue eyes pulling the two azure-colored sabers out of the neck of the Troll he had killed with a single attack.
The azure sabers were coated in white fog and a thick golden Soulblade, which could be seen clearly by everyone. With a simple slash to the side, the Dragontale Twin Sabers were cleaned before they were sheathed once again.
"You didn't steal anything. Actually, we're grateful for your help. The Trolls' physical strength was a little higher than I calculated. My mistake almost cost the lives of my comrades. I am very grateful to you…what was your name again?" Jeremy said hurriedly as he stepped forward to inch closer to Zayn.
He stretched his hand out as a means to show that there was no need for rivalry or unnecessary trouble. Both sides wanted to avoid causing trouble after the battle against the Trolls.
"My name is Jeremy Walker. I am 19 years old, a Soul Knight, and the Captain of the Hunting Unit belonging to the Silverflame Cadet Camp. Nice meeting you, and thanks again!"
Jeremy seemed like a nice young man. Zayn was not too sure why Jeremy felt the need to tell his age and rank as well, but he said it in a disciplined manner. There had to be something about it.
"Silverflame Cadet Camp? Where did I hear about that before…?" Zayn mumbled to himself before it made click. Realization dawned on him and everything started to make sense.
"Isn't the Silverflame Camp the training camp for the cadets of the central region's Three Big Legions?" He asked to make sure that he was not mistaken about something.
"Yes, exactly. Seems like you heard about us already!" Jeremy answered with a smile before his eyes moved to his hand that was still stretched out.
Zayn smiled lightly and grasped Jeremy's hand tightly.
"Nice meeting you. I'm Zayn Noir, 14 years old and also a Soul Knight. I don't have any affiliations to some organization thought."
Before he realized it, Zayn had already revealed his real name.
He froze in his tracks for a moment when he realized his mistake, and staring at the expressions on the faces of the 352nd Hunting Unit's members, he immediately turned his guard up by a notch.
However, that was completely unnecessary. After all, the reason for everyone's shock was something completely different!
"You…are only 14? Are you eating fertilizer, or what?!
