Chapter 13

Jiang Xu and An Nuonuo turned their heads to the source of the voice.

They saw Li Honghong rushing towards them angrily.

She glared at them, “What are you doing!”

“We…” An Nuonuo started, unsure of what to say.

Jiang Xu frowned, “What are you screaming about?”

Li Honghong was very angry.

Pointing at Jiang Xu, she accused, “On one hand, you’re pursuing Zhou Qingyue, and on the other, you’re ambiguous with this woman. You’re nothing but scum!”

“Clear up your words,” Jiang Xu turned bitter, “I’ve said it before, I’ve given up on Zhou Qingyue.”

“Ha. Well,” Li Honghong sneered, “Who doesn’t know your deep-rooted feelings for Zhou Qingyue.

How could you possibly give up so easily?

If you break up with this woman right now, I won’t tell Zhou Qingyue what I saw today.”

Jiang Xu didn’t want to waste his words on her anymore.

With a dismissive wave of his hand, he said, “Do as you please. Please move aside.”

His nonchalant attitude further infuriated Li Honghong.

She turned her anger towards An Nuonuo, “How could you be so shameless, meddling in other people’s relationships?

If you had any dignity left, you should have taken your leave.”

An Nuonuo’s eyes turned red in an instant.

Tears began to well up in her eyes.

She held her breath, trying to keep the tears from falling.

She wished to step back, to distance herself from Jiang Xu.

However, she found her wrist gripped tightly by him.

And then.

A deep handprint appeared on Li Honghong’s face.

The sound of the slap was unusually crisp.

Li Honghong covered her slapped face.

In disbelief, she looked at Jiang Xu, “You hit me?!”

“Smack!”

As soon as she finished speaking, another slap landed on her other cheek.

Jiang Xu spoke calmly.

But his words gave Li Honghong a chill.

“An Nuonuo is under my protection. For every time you bully her, I’ll hit you twice,” he warned.

Li Honghong had never been slapped twice in a row like this in her life before.

She wanted to make threats.

But the moment she met Jiang Xu’s icy gaze, she couldn’t utter a word.

The Jiang Xu she was seeing now seemed like a stranger.

He seemed nothing like the Jiang Xu from her memories. The one who had no dignity and would only humbly please Zhou Qingyue.

Li Honghong turned her head and ran away.

Not until she was a distance away, she stopped,

And yelled at Jiang Xu, “You wait for me! This matter isn’t over!”

Jiang Xu clenched his fist, causing Li Honghong’s heart to tremble. She ran away again.

When he turned his head, he saw An Nuonuo’s face covered with tears.

Jiang Xu panicked immediately.

He hurriedly wiped the tears off her face.

“Don’t cry. That woman deserves to be punished. Wait here; I’ll go and beat her again,” he said.

“No,”

An Nuonuo gripped Jiang Xu’s arm.

Sniffling thickly.

Her crying was partially due to the humiliation from Li Honghong.

Nevertheless, it was his words about him being her protection that truly broke her composure.

She had never experienced such a feeling of being protected before.

Her heart was filled with ripples that refused to calm down.

“Don’t worry, as long as I’m here, no one can bully you,” he reassured her.

“Yeah, thank you,”

An Nuonuo lowered her head to hide her shyness.

Jiang Xu, such a good person.

Only when An Nuonuo had completely calmed down, did Jiang Xu take her back to the library.

Like yesterday, they went to the restaurant when it was almost noon.

The day was as busy as the day before.

At ten o’clock in the evening, Jiang Xu pulled An Nuonuo to leave.

They had school tomorrow after all.

On the way,

Jiang Xu asked her how much tips she had received for the day.

“I got a total of 560. Thank you, Jiang,” An Nuonuo replied from the back seat, her face beaming with joy.

She decided to keep 120 for herself to treat Jiang to a meal as a thank you the next day.

He saved the rest as living expenses till the end of the term.

“Not bad, luck is on your side.” Someone grinned.

Didn’t care the least that his wallet was much thinner no.

This was called strategic investment.

Dropped her at her doorstep.

An Nuonuo got off from the rear seat: “Thank you, Jiang. Drive safe on your way back.”

Jiang Xu: “I’m a few months older than you, stop calling me Jiang, that’s too formal. Call me Brother Jiang.”

The timid An Nuonuo’s cheeks flushed again.

She couldn’t say it.

Jiang Xu urged: “Hurry up and say it.”

“No.”

An NuoNuo turned and ran right back into the house.

Jiang Xu couldn’t help but laugh.

There is no rush.

I wanted to hear you call me not just brother, but…

Just when he was about to turn back.

An Nuonuo poked her head out: “Take care, brother…”

As soon as she finished speaking, she immediately retracted back.

She was so cute it was exploding.

How could there be such a cute girl in this world?

Jiang Xu stood in the same spot, giggling like a fool.

The next day.

Jiang Xu got up on time to review for half an hour.

Then he went out.

In the classroom.

Zhou Qingyue walked in with red eyes.

She didn’t sleep well last night.

Naturally it was because of a certain someone.

She was a bit obstinate in her character.

The more Jiang Xu ignored her, the more upset she was.

However.

She had just sworn to herself that she would never take the initiative to find Jiang Xu.

She could only bear with it.

All of a sudden.

Zhou Qingyue, who had a straight face all the way, burst out laughing.

Because she saw that on her table, there were buns and soy milk.

“Hmph, I thought you could stand it longer. I didn’t expect you to give in so soon.”

Zhou Qingyue had just sat down.

When Jiang Xu arrived.

The other classmates also started to arrive one after another.

“Strange, why hasn’t Nuonuo come yet?” Jiang Xu muttered to himself.

At this time of the day, An Nuonuo would have already been here.

Zhou Qingyue saw Jiang Xu come in.

She snorted in her heart.

She would not forgive him so easily.

You think breakfast is enough?

Thinking about this.

She got up.

Picked up the breakfast, walked up to Jiang Xu.

With a thump, she put the breakfast on his table.

She said coldly: “Take it back, I told you, I’m not going to forgive you!”

Jiang Xu, who was about to start reading, lifted his head in surprise: “What?”

“Act, keep on acting.” Zhou Qingyue sneered: “You’re buying me breakfast but not admitting to it, huh?

I’m telling you, please do not think that such small favors will help you win my forgiveness. Keep dreaming.”

“That breakfast wasn’t bought by me.” Jiang Xu responded.

Zhou Qingyue didn’t believe it at all: “What, afraid of being rejected by me, so you dared to act but not admit.”

“It really wasn’t me.” Jiang Xu was speechless.

This woman, she was getting more and more annoying.

Why would he, in the first place, have had feelings for such a woman?

He must have been blinded by something.

“You are really incorrigible.” Zhou Qingyue looked at him with disdain: “You dare to act but not to admit. I despise you.”

“No, are you mad?” Jiang Xu couldn’t hold it any longer: “I kept telling you it wasn’t me.”

“What’s up, what are you two arguing about?”

At this moment, the class president ran in.

He looked at the breakfast on Jiang Xu’s desk: “Hey, isn’t that what I bought for Zhou?”
