Chapter 14 Ice Touch

‘Ding,

Hero assessment.

Name:- Amy Icefeather.

Age:- 21

Hero rank:- Rank 5 (Mid-level elite hero)

Talent:- Sharp eye (level 4), Ice Touch (level 5).

Sharp eye:- A talent that helps see the actual value of the items that can’t be seen with a normal eye.

Ice touch:- With a simple touch, the hero can freeze anything or anyone for a limited time.

Note:- Higher the hero rank, the lower the freezing time.

Potential:- Sharp Eye (56 percent) and Ice Touch (8 percent).

Looking at Amy’s silhouette, Leo quickly checked her information.

‘Dual talents?’

Even though he had seen many heroes with dual talents, Leo was still surprised that Amy awakened two talents.

‘An attacking type talent and the observing type talent. Looks like she will be becoming the family head of the Icefeather family at this rate.’

Leo was sure that she would not have any problem succeeding her father in the future.

‘Master, you are being watched by someone.’

Suddenly, Leo heard Vladimir’s voice in his head, making him a little annoyed.

‘Idiot, do you think I didn’t notice that?’

Leo had long noticed the prying eyes of the old man who had taken his photo; however, he paid no heed to him.

‘Also, if you communicate with me in broad daylight, you might be seen by an Advanced hero.’

Looking at Julia’s shadow, Leo warned Vladimir to keep quiet.

As a shadow vampire, Vladimir could hide in the shadows. Since Leo tasked him to protect Julia, he lived in her shadow.

“Brother Leo, how do you know about the premium auction?”

After Amy left, Julia asked Leo with a curious look on her face.

‘Did you forget that I am an advanced hero?’

Leo answered her in a low voice and continued, ‘I have my sources to gather information.’

“So, are you coming to the auction to broaden your horizons?”

Leo asked her whether she wanted to come to the auction without waiting for Julia.

“Of course. I have never been to a premium auction house. So, I will definitely go there.”

Julia nodded her head without any hesitation.

“But the problem is…we can’t buy anything in that auction.”

Compared to a regular auction, a premium auction only has limited items, and each one of them costs a fortune.

Even though she had been saving money for the last couple of years, it was not enough to buy one of those limited items.

“Right…we need money to buy something from that premium auction.”

Leo nodded his head as he could understand Julia’s problem.

“Since there are still two days left for the Preimum auction, how about we complete a few missions from the city’s mission hall?”

He waited for a few moments before suggesting to Julia the fastest way to earn money.

“Missions from the city mission hall? It is dangerous for ….”

Julia raised her brows for a moment and was about to reject that suggestion; however, when she remembered that Leo was an advanced hero, she changed her words and said, “What are we waiting for? Let’s go.”

Even though it was the city leader’s duty to clear all the hideous monsters and the fierce beasts around the city, the city leaders established a ‘Mission hall’ in their cities.

Various missions would be posted in these mission halls, and the residents of the cities could help the city leader complete those missions.

Of course, the city hall would pay handsome rewards depending on the danger rating of the missions.

However, even the most straightforward mission in the mission hall requires a group of rank 4 and rank 5 heroes. So at first, Julia was worried, but after remembering Leo’s rank, she was not concerned.

“Shouldn’t you inform Ryan and others about it? They might be worried about you.”

Since Leo and Julia planned to take a few missions from the city mission hall, it would take more than one day to return to the city.

So, he mentioned Julia to inform others about going out of the city for two days.

“Right. I was too excited about it and forgot.”

Julia revealed an embarrassed smile and rushed into Ryan’s house.

‘This girl…is still eight years old.’

Leo shook his head at Julia’s actions; however, it made him like her more.

‘I need to earn money too to buy the item that might help Emily and Evan from the premium auction.’

Leo had another reason to enter the premium auction.

Besides seeing all the powerhouses of the Phirie city, Leo wanted to find a medicine or an item that could help Emily and Evan awaken their talent fully.

That’s why he didn’t beat around the bush with Amy and directly asked for the invitations for the Premium auction.

‘I was able to get the invitations easily because I knew about Amy very well.’

Leo was confident that he would get the tickets from Amy because she was the type to repay for even small things.

Even though Leo didn’t like using Julia to get the auction tickets, he didn’t have a choice or time.

“Brother Leo, let’s go.”

Soon, Julia returned from Ryan’s house as Emily and Evan waved their hands and asked them to return safely.

Ryan was not in the house as he had already left for his beast hunting job.

….

“Mission hall, I am here.”

Soon, they reached a magnificent building bustling with many heroes who were entering and leaving the building.

Even though the missions in the mission hall were dangerous, so many rank 4 to rank 5 heroes were willing to face those dangers for three reasons.

One, they would be paid generously after the completion of every mission.

Two, the more they experience the dangers, the more powerful they become as the repetitive use of talent increases its level.

Third and the last, by venturing a lot into the wilderness, the chances of encountering treasures or God ruins would increase. As long as they find at least one ‘God ruins’ or a powerful treasure, they no longer have to take risks and enjoy the good life inside the city walls.

“Let’s enter.”
