Chapter 214 [Nether Domain]

‘Ding,

Talent Name: Call of the Lightning (level 7).

Talent Type: Special.

Effect: The user can summon seven lightning flashes from the sky to hit seven targets with 300 percent lightning damage.

Note: Even though each lightning flash hits only a single target chosen by the user, it causes collateral damage to the target’s surroundings in a 10-meter radius.

Soon, the information about level 7 [Call of the Lightning ] appeared before Leo.

‘300 percent damage? It’s more. Moreover, the number of lightning flashes I can summon has increased from one to seven. I think it is related to the level of the talent without a doubt.’

Even though there was only a single effect for the [Call of the Lighting], the damage dealt to his enemies was enough to satisfy Leo with his talent.

Of course, he could not kill the supreme-ranked target with the talent because it was still a level 7. Even if it deals 300 percent lightning damage, it would not be enough to injure a supreme-ranked being, not to mention killing them would be impossible.

‘However, if I can upgrade it to level 9, then I can kill a level 1 and 2 supreme-ranked being even without any title.’

Leo didn’t have exact data regarding that; however, he was sure that he would have no problem killing level 2 supreme-ranked beings with a level 9 [Call of the Lightning]

‘If I can find an Innate Elemental Spirit Fruit for this talent and mutate it, then it might become even more powerful; however, finding those fruits was already difficult, and lightning elemental fruit was even more difficult.’

As the saying goes, a human always wants more, and there is nothing that would make him satisfied.

‘After the appearance of the portals and world assessments, no matter how powerful I become, it is not enough. Therefore, I should never be content with what I have.’

Leo didn’t mind becoming greedy for power; however, he didn’t want to chase after the power for his whole life and wanted to give preference to his family and friends.

For that, he needs to be powerful enough to face any danger.

‘The first and foremost danger is the world assessment. I need to be powerful enough to stop them or at least protect my family and friends.’

After thinking about his family and friends, Leo checked his other special talent.

‘Ding,

Talent name: Nether Domain (Level 1).

Talent Type: Special.

Talent Effect: Upon activation, the user is surrounded by a thin layer of black-coloured smoke for a 10-meter radius which reduces the battle prowess of all the targets that enter that range by one percent.

Note: The effect of this talent can be stacked with similar effects of other talents.

‘Huh? Only one percent?’

Ajax frowned and thought, ‘One percent of the reduction in the battle prowess is a little too low, but since it is still a level 1, I think I have to upgrade it.’

Leo wanted to upgrade this talent; however, he decided to wait until he upgraded the [Talent Promoter] to level 7.

‘Show me the upgrade requirements of the [Talent Promoter].’

Until the other talents, the [Talent Promoter] shows the upgrade requirements for the next level.

‘Ding,

[Talent Promoter] upgrade requirements.

1) Upgrade three special talents from Elite Class to Advanced Class (3/3). [Complete].

2) Upgrade three normal talents from Elite Class to Advanced Class (2/3). [Incomplete].

3) Spend ten million [Promote Points]. [The user has enough points].

‘I have five new normal talents. Let’s upgrade one of them.’

Leo had a fruitful day where he got so many new talents and skills. Hence, he didn’t waste time and checked the five new normal talents.

‘Ding,

Newly awakened normal talents.

1) Lightning Resistance.

2) Nether Vision.

3) Fire Bullets.

4) Underwater Breathing.

5) Earth Camouflage.

Soon, the list of five normal talents he gained from devouring appeared before him.

‘They can be useful in some situations.’

Among the five new talents, four were supportive-type talents that can be used in different situations, and as for the [Fire Bullets], it was an average talent.

Nevertheless, Leo didn’t mind having these talents because he always thinks ‘Having something is better than nothing.’

Since Leo didn’t get any warning from the system regarding the limit of his talents and skills, he didn’t mind having as many skills and talents.

‘In the worst case, I will merge them and make them powerful; if they fail, they will be destroyed anyway.’

Leo was not worried much about it as he picked [Lightning Resistance] to upgrade.

‘Ding,

The host spent 1313000 [Promote Points] and upgraded it from level 1 to level 7.

Since it was a normal talent, Leo spent half of what he spent on the [Call of the Lightning].

‘Ding,

The host has fulfilled the main upgrade requirements for the [Talent Promoter]. Please spend 10 million [Promote Points] to upgrade it to level 7.

‘Upgrade.’

Leo had been waiting for this moment for a while. Therefore, when he saw the system notification, he upgraded it by spending 10 million [Promote Points].

‘Ding,

10 million [Promote Points] are deducted.

‘Ding,

The host’s [Talent Promoter] is upgraded to level 7. Please check more details in the [User Interface].

‘I hope I can upgrade my talents to level 9 now.’

With a head full of expectations, Leo checked the details on level 7 [Talent Promoter].

‘Ding,

Talent Name: Talent Promoter (Level 7).

Talent Type: Special.

Talent Effect:

1) The user can upgrade any talent from level 1 to level 7.

2) The user can upgrade only one level 7 talent to level 9 at one time.

Note: 1) The host has to upgrade a talent to peak level 9 before upgrading a new level 7 talent.

2) A special effect will be unlocked at level 9.

‘Phew…finally, I can upgrade the talent to level 9 using the [Promoter Points].’

Soon, the brief information about the [Talent Promoter] appeared in front of him, making him reveal a slight smile.

Even though he could upgrade only a single talent to level 7 at once, it was enough for Leo…at least, for now, it would be sufficient.

‘I just have to upgrade the [Talent Promoter] further to get more upgrading slots for the Advanced talents.’

Until now, the [Talent Promoter]’s upgrade requirements asked him to upgrade more talents. It might be hard for regular humans; however, it was just a piece of cake for him.

‘As long as there are enough beasts and monsters, I can get as many talents and skills as I want.’

Leo slightly smiled as he checked the upgrade requirements for the [Talent Promoter].

‘I wonder how many normal and special talents I have to upgrade this time?’

This was the question in Leo’s head; however, Leo’s jaws dropped after seeing the holographic screen in front of him.

‘It looks like the difficulty has finally increased in upgrading the [Talent Promoter].’

Looking at the three upgrade requirements in front of him, Leo shook his head and thought, ‘It will take quite some time to upgrade the [Talent Promoter] to level 8.’
