Chapter 384 Troubles in Space (2)
My mind was in chaos as I saw the jellyfish approach. Forget about the messed-up perspective due to a lack of things to compare it with, but seeing how large it was, even though it's far from the satellite, its tentacles were definitely longer than a skyscraper!
"Ember!"
I called to her in panic. Without delay, she quickly turned on the defense systems and fired lasers toward the enemy. However, the powerful laser blasts looked like a dot against the large body of the enemy.
The attack definitely didn't cause much damage! The source of this content nov(el)bi((n))
"D*mn! Ember, I'm going to intercept it!"
I quickly teleported back to the laboratory before teleporting right outside the satellite. There, I could feel the surface of my suit tighten from the cold temperature of space. Still, as expected of Ember's design, it managed to keep me safe and warm inside, unaffected by the cold.
"(Master, the enemy is roughly 50 kilometers away! Its size, estimated by the earlier laser blast, is about one kilometer long and 300 meters wide!)"
Ember quickly informed me through the Mental Scape connecting us. Talk about a grand scale! It's even bigger than the God-level Demon Shark from before.
Knowing that it'd spell bad news if it got close, I quickly moved toward it... Or at least I tried.
"Wait, there's no thruster in this suit!"
I guess Ember only prioritized survivability and forgot about its mobility. It completely lacked any method to move through space!
Having no other choice, I had to use space-element energy, which was abundant everywhere around me, and create a gravity tunnel. It pulled me forward while pushing me from behind, causing double the acceleration. After gaining enough speed, I quickly turned, swerving to the right, and orbited the large jellyfish.
I'm not that knowledgeable about identifying jellyfish, but I guess it looks the same as a lion's mane jellyfish. Ignoring the glowing part, of course, since a normal lion's mane jellyfish doesn't do bioluminescence.
"First, let's test its defenses!"
I quickly turned toward the jellyfish, dashing straight into its thin, membrane-like head. I quickly took a sword out of my [Spatial Storage] and swung it down with all my might!
"Elemental attacks do work!"
Rather than elements, it was more accurate to say energy-
based attacks. Meaning, the previous laser should also work, but...
"It lacks the power to properly send this jellyfish packing!"
I quickly relayed what I discovered to the girls and received their approval for my plan. Without delay, everyone started to prepare.
"Fang, let's go as planned!"
"Don't worry, Leader! I'll make sure that not a single tentacle touches you!"
I was unable to use my hand to hold her since there were two large blades made out of concentrated space energy held in both my hands. They weren't technically "held" as they're not physical objects, however.
Fang, to protect me while tagging along, crossed her arm around my neck, with both legs locking around my waist. Her head was right beside mine, looking toward my back, covering my blind spots.
Confirming that Fang was hugging me tightly, I quickly created another gravity tunnel. Our figures zipped across the empty space, reaching speeds above Mach 10. If it were anywhere with an atmosphere, then we'd probably get damaged by air friction at this speed. It's like the speed I'm moving at when I use [Echoing Thunderclap].
In a few seconds, we reached the vicinity of the jellyfish's tentacles. As expected, it quickly moved toward us, as if it could see our movements clearly. Hundreds of thin tentacles hounded our path, trying to catch us, but this time was different.
*SCHING!*
With a swipe from my left and right energy blades, the wall of tentacles crumbled immediately. I'm not sure if the jellyfish could feel pain, but the other tentacles started to move faster as if it got angry.
Of course, Fang continually used her dark tentacles to protect us both.
Just like that, the two of us came closer and closer to the enemy's gigantic head.
"Take this!"
I slashed the two blades violently, as if trying to dig a hole in the ground—the jellyfish's head.
