After Sheng Ruming had reached the company, he got out from the car and gave her car a side glance. Afterwards, she entered the company.
Luo Lixi found an empty place and parked her car on it. Afterwards, she stepped out and then she glanced around the place.
There weren't many cars at the surrounding places. She straightened herself and walked into the company.
After she had reached the office area, Luo Lixi's sight fell on the company's logo on the wall. She soothed her facial expressions and entered.
After she had gone inside, she saw all people were busy with work. Then, she took out a paper which Sheng Ruming had given her the day before tomorrow and walked to the receptionist.
"Hello."
"Hello, miss, how can I help you?" The receptionist asked in English. Luo Lixi gently smiled and then said.
"I want to see Secretary Huo."
"Wait a second…"
The receptionist called someone and in two minutes, a man came. Luo Lixi turned back when she heard the sound of footsteps.
"Miss Xi?" Luo Lixi saw a man who wasn't in good shape. Even though his attire was alright, there was fatigue and dark circles under his eyes.
"Yes. Mr. Huo…" She wanted to say more but he cut in and told her.
"Please follow me. Let's talk inside."
Luo Lixi stopped at once and nodded. Then she followed the man inside. Afterwards, the man brought her to a room with sofas. It was for guests.
Then, Secretary Huo sat before her and spoke out, "Miss Xi, CEO Sheng has already told me everything. You will be his secretary from now on. Since he has said, there is nothing more to say…"
"Uh, alright." Luo Lixi had prepared more to speak but at his response, she didn't know what else to say. Then, she turned towards the man.
When she was in Luo Corporation, she didn't see such expressions on her employees' faces. She couldn't help but doubt if Sheng Ruming made his staff work hard to death.
The man showed her an awkward smile as he stood up. Then he said, "Come with me." Thus, Luo Lixi stood up and followed him outside of the room. Then, he guided her to a seat and said.
"From today, this will be your seat." The woman who was working beside that desk turned at them and said.
"Ah, If it is her seat then where will you work." Luo Lixi turned at him when she heard it. 'So it was his working place earlier. But why would he give me his seat?'
Her thoughts were soon answered as he spoke out, "I am resigning from my work and would go back home. It's been some time since I have seen my parents. Finally, I have time."
"Umm, I don't know what to say but stay strong." The woman stood up and hugged him lightly, at which he flinched back.
Luo Lixi stared at the desk. 'It can't be! Did Sheng Ruming fire him so that I can become his secretary? Isn't it too much?!'
Luo Lixi thought as she lifted her head. Then, her sight fell on Sheng Ruming who was busy working in his room. Because the front wall was made of glass, it was easy to see him from her sight.
As if the man had sensed something, he stopped tapping on his phone and turned at her. Luo Lixi didn't change her facial expression when she stared at him.
Sheng Ruming just gave her a glance then he turned towards his computer. 'What is she thinking and looking at me like that?!'
Sheng Ruming thought as his forehead creased but there was no one to see.
Afterwards, Luo Lixi turned towards the man who was busy taking the stuff of his from the desk. Then, he gave her twenty files and spoke, "Read them and try to memorise as much as you can. Here are the things you will need and also some important things. Farewell…"
Luo Lixi stared at the big pile of files on the desk. But she didn't feel intimidated even for a second and nodded.
The man didn't say anything and walked away. Currently, his resignation letter was on Sheng Ruming's desk.
Luo Lixi sat down on her chair and slowly opened one. She engrossed herself in reading and would someone glance around the room.
It was totally different from her past experience. Everyone was very invested in their computer and seemed very serious.
In two hours, she had done reading. Afterwards, Luo Lixi placed them aside except one. Then she started to work on it.
Sheng Ruming would occasionally stop his work and glance at her. Her concentrated and firm expressions made him feel like she was encountering something grave. When she stood and walked away with one file, he couldn't see her anymore and concentrate on his work.
Luo Lixi had gone to bring herself water. When she was pouring warm water in a mug, a man came and glanced around the room. When he saw Luo Lixi, he walked towards him and gave a form to her.
"Please, fill in the information and attach a picture of yours for your ID." Luo Lixi nodded her head and walked away. Then, she took a pen and began to fill in the information. But after a few seconds, she stopped and stared at the form.
'It required my bank information, parent's names as well as my address. Should I perhaps write the original things?'
Luo Lixi mulled over this matter for sometime then she made up her mind and filled the original information. She couldn't bring herself to write any unknown man's name on her father's name.
After she was done, her sight fell on the place where it was needed. She thought for sometime and then she placed it in her drawer. Afterwards, she walked out from the company and searched for a photo studio to take out some passport size pictures of her.
After Sheng Ruming was done working on a file, he stood up and straightened his body. If he remained seated for a long time, he would feel uncomfortable.
After he stood up, he looked at Luo Lixi's desk, but even after a long time, she didn't return to her desk.
'Where is she?' He thought and walked out.
The people working outside turned towards him but he raised his hand to motion them to continue their works. After he had walked to her desk, he asked the woman whose desk was beside Luo Lixi's.
"Where is the person?" Sheng Ruming's face didn't have any expression when he asked. But the woman thought he was dissatisfied because someone wasn't working.
"She has gone out earlier." When Sheng Ruming heard it, he retracted his hand and walked out of the company.
When Sheng Ruming walked out, he didn't see her silhouette anywhere. He took out his phone and called her, "Where are you?"
"I am coming in a few minutes." Luo Lixi replied and cut the line.
"Your photos."
"Thanks…" Luo Lixi took them and put them in her purse. Afterwards, she walked out from the photo studio and hurriedly walked towards the direction where the company was.
After five minutes, from afar she saw Sheng Ruming was waiting outside for her. "Luckily it was nearby…"
Luo Lixi thought as she walked towards him. As Sheng Ruming saw her coming, he reached to her in his large steps.
"Where did you go without telling me?"
"Uh, I needed a photo for an ID. Thus, I went to a studio." Luo Lixi said that but even then his face didn't show any sign of soothing down.
"Lixi, you should at least tell me before you go outside. I was worried for you."
Luo Lixi patted his arm and spoke out smilingly, "Don't worry. It was just a trivial matter. How can I disturb you for such a small matter?!"
Sheng Ruming saw her laughing. He inwardly thought, 'It would be great if you disturb me?'
Then Luo Lixi suddenly stopped smiling and asked, "Did you fire that man because you wanted me to be your secretary?!"
At her question, Sheng Ruming stopped and then shook his head. "No. He would've been fired a long time ago because he had done something wrong. Just that I didn't have the time to concentrate on him."
Luo Lixi looked relieved when she heard it. She was glad that he hadn't done such a thing or she would've become really angry at him.
While they were speaking, someone from the second floor was peeking at them. "Ah, is our CEO angry at her and reprimanding her now?" The woman mumbled while she was looking.
"It doesn't seem so…" Another lady came and looked down. Both of them looked at each other for a second then turned their sight below.
"His expression is so gentle, unlike the other times…" The woman spoke in Chinese as she turned towards the woman before her. There was a playful smile at the corner of her lips.
