Sheng Ruming walked out from that room in anger and hurriedly went to another place. Currently, his mood was very bad, bad enough for him to want to break things.
He walked beside a pillar, leaned against it and ran his fingers through his hairs, pushing them back and later ruffling his hair with a dissatisfied groan escaping his lips.
His scalp was hot like a burning rod. "Damn it! Damn!"
He punched the pillar a few times but even then his anger didn't go down. "How dare they?!"
For a long time, he didn't move away from that place And took his time to cool himself down. He wouldn't want to see anyone with his rage working up.
Suddenly, Zhou Lei rushed towards him from somewhere with an excited expression.
"Boss! Why are you here?" When Zhou Lei asked, his voice even trembled a little. His mood was the polar opposite of Sheng Ruming's.
Sheng Ruming frowned as he turned to face him, "What? I can't even come outside?"
Zhou Lei shook his head as he excitedly grabbed his arm, "Boss! That's not what I meant! They have already announced the result! Guess what!"
From his expression, Sheng Ruming didn't need to guess. If it was in the past, he would have felt very pleased but now, when he saw the biased attitude of the government authorities, he didn't think it was too much.
Zhou Lei was waiting for Sheng Ruming's face to crack to show some emotions but he was doomed to be disappointed because nothing came out except those stern eyes of his staring right into his.
Sheng Ruming left behind a word and started to walk inside, "Let's go."
…
When Sheng Ruming went back, this time many people turned their attention towards him. But the man's eyes fell straight on Luo Lixi who showed him a bright smile.
For some reason, he felt a huge rock was placed on his chest. The man intended to go to her at first hand but the first person who was seated in the row got up and suddenly hugged Sheng Ruming tightly.
"Congratulations! Ruming. You got the deal. I hope that you will complete the project in the future."
It was the excited shareholder of his company. The man was smiling from ear to ear. In his mind, he could foresee the future when he would receive a huge profit! It was like money would fly to him!
The man was already brewing the hopes of profiting through it for his luxury even before Sheng Ruming started working on it. What a cunning and greedy man!
The shareholders who had come, were smiling from ear to ear in bliss. In their mind, they had already foreseen the future which had them all giddy.
Sheng Ruming nodded as he wanted to go away but the old man didn't let him. "You have to go up to the stage, remember?"
Hearing him, Sheng Ruming paused and glanced ahead where the man on the stage was waiting for him with his gaze following Sheng Ruming's every moment. They weren't in a hurry!
Without any other way, he abandoned his plan and went up to the stage.
Madam Wang saw this and couldn't stay silent. She turned towards the smiling Luo Lixi and murmured, "We are very blessed that we got Sheng Ruming as your fiancé. If we can get his assistant, we can still get a part in this large project."
Luo Lixi took a second to see Madam Wang's face. Then, she forced down the displeasure that had come out in her heart and replied in a low voice, "Aunty, I don't want to rely on him to get any benefits. I want to do everything with my capabilities."
Not the first time, people had said similar things like Madam Wang. Sometimes, Luo Lixi even felt like telling them not to give their opinion about this matter.
Madam Wang paused for a second. Then, she looked where Luo Lixi was staring and said with a serious tone, "Silly girl. In business, you should take advantage of everything to get where you want. Only someone without any backer or helper says such idiotic things. A huge backer falls on your capabilities too. Don't say those silly lines of wisdom! "
Then, Madam Wang turned towards Luo Lixi and whispered, "I can see he loves you very much. Luo Corporation is yours. In another way, it's also his. If you two collaborate, who dares to say anything."
From the side, Pan Er Jiu and Luo Biwun also nodded in agreement but inside their minds. To them, it made sense. But to Luo Lixi, it pricked in her heart.
She didn't want to rely on anybody because she was one independent person. As if Madam Wang had heard what Luo Lixi was thinking and her smile vanished.
She whispered every word so that only the two could hear, "If you want to rely on your so-called capabilities, then, perhaps my girl, you have forgotten that the company you are working, is your family business. Sorry to say but, you didn't have to work very hard to prove yourself and get the highest CEO'S seat when your grandfather changed his mind."
Luo Lixi felt something twist in her head. If people judged it this way, then it was true. A line surfaced in her head, 'Today, Luo Lixiang could have been in my place if he didn't do that to me …'
Thinking at this point, her eyes subconsciously turned aside. But Luo Lixiang wasn't present. Madam Wang saw her plan was working and moved a little more.
She grabbed Luo Lixi's hand intimately and mumbled, "Don't you think, if someday your grandfather changes his mind, you can… Sigh! That's why do everything possible in your means to establish your power in the company. You can see the shareholders don't support the change of CEO either…"
It could be said in another way, 'Your grandfather just forced them to accept you!'
Hearing that, suddenly Luo Lixi began to have other thoughts. She still remembered the twisted faces of some shareholders in the meetings they used to have.
In the past, she didn't care much and thought she should do what her heart wants.
Right then, she decided in her heart, 'I don't want to sit on that seat for all my life! If grandfather agrees, I will give it to someone else to manage. But not now...'
Luo Lixi never enjoyed her time working in the company. But sometimes, people had to do some work they despised. Even if they hated it, they had to do it to achieve something. There was no way.
Before Luo Lixiang threw her from the bridge, she used to work alongside her grandfather in the company. She had never thought to continue working.
Later, she had wanted to tell the old man her thoughts so that she could work on other things that she liked but the time never came. Much later, she directly ended up on that seat.
Luo Lixi turned towards Sheng Ruming. She made a plan in her heart so that in the future she could transfer the company to Sheng Ruming if her grandfather allowed it.
On stage, Sheng Ruming took the mic from the man and turned towards the guests. His cold eyes swept on the crowded area and then fell on Luo Lixi.
Right that moment, Luo Lixi was thinking about how to get away from the huge thing called Luo Corporation and passed the company to him in a good way but the man saw her serious face and classified it as she was hurt.
His Lixi got hurt from the events that took place. For a second, he had the urge to reject the project but his rational mind said he couldn't and wouldn't. He didn't want his father to get any chance to condemn and criticize and say that it was a mistake to let him get engaged to her.
The man opened his mouth and began to say, "Thanks the seniors for having faith in me and my 'Sheng Industry and Corporation'. We will give our all to complete this huge project. Thanks again."
Even though his speech was very short, it carried everything he wanted to explain. The guests clapped slightly to show their appreciation.
Next, the authorities came. Sheng Ruming's group of people went to the stage.
In the nation, the contracts and projects the government issued to the various companies would be all the same. There wouldn't be any change.
Thus, in a few seconds, Sheng Ruming signed the papers in front of the masses. When it was done, the event finally came to an end.
"Sheng Ruming, we have organized a dinner at the back. Let's come to join us." The officer who represented the government and signed the papers asked him with a good attitude but Sheng Ruming knew they had other purposes.
Staying in the circle, he had already gained the ability to read hypocritical people's minds from their facial expressions.
