Christo led the servants and Regina into the Western-style house. I followed a little farther behind.

I guess he wants to get his hands on the precious items as soon as possible. They opened the door of the room carelessly and ransacked it.

I was taken aback as they proceeded onward without warning. Don’t they have to worry about monsters suddenly attacking them or something like that?

In fact, there are times when monsters attack through the walls, so you can’t let your guard down at all once you enter the dungeon. Only a rookie adventurer would go into a dungeon unprotected, just like exploring an empty house.

I’m too cautious because I’m familiar with the dungeon.

Haven’t you ever thought a little about why adventurers place so much importance on scouts to understand the terrain and find traps? No, I guess not. You’re not even aware of the fact that they’re important. Is that why all you can think about is, fighting monsters?

You must be assuming that dungeons are places where dangerous monsters exist and where you have to fight them, just like the common stories. That’s what their preconceived1 notions tell you.

“Christo–sama! I found a jewel here!”

“There’s a magic item in the drawer, a ring! Let’s bring it back and have it appraised!”

He opened one door after another and ransacked the rooms. He was like a bandit as he ransacked the room, destroying any furniture that got in his way.

“Oh! Well done!”

I watched them with cold eyes.

The only saving grace was that Regina was not participating. She had an expression that clearly showed her disgust.

It was painful to continue to watch the brutality in front of me, so I decided to try one.

No matter how he replied, it wouldn’t change what I was going to do, but I wanted to make sure he had values and principles before I went ahead with the mission.

“Are you not joining them?”

“I am a Knight in the service of the House of Erlers, and there are certain behaviors that are not appropriate. So I think I’ll pass.”

It’s not unexpected, but it’s unusual.

I think there was some kind of lesson for Knights. I don’t remember, but…

—You should respect weakness and be a protector.

—Serve your lord and obey his commands.

—Love the nation of your birth.

—Do not retreat from the enemy.

That’s what I thought it said. Are you suggesting that Regina is practicing a lesson that no one else is following?

If you think that she looks young and maybe she has just been knighted and is burning with ideals,……, would you agree?

If so, your ideals will be tainted by the dirty world you are about to see, but thank God there is at least one decent Knight. I’ll take advantage of your straightforward nature.

“Now this room! This door looks like it belongs to the master(owner) of the house. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! I’m going to take it all!”

Christo opens the luxurious door and walked in, talking like a burglar.

There are many different kinds of knights …….
