Chapter 17

Li Yan thought that after being sold by her birth mother to her father, this illegitimate child would feel inferior and become withdrawn. However, young Qiao Mu was able to deal with the members of the Qiao household well. She continued living a carefree life even though her stepmother and stepsister were pretentious and bullied her all the time.

She was only five years old at that time.

Her family members told her that Li Yan was her uncle, but being the innocent little girl she was, she refused to call him anything other than “big brother”.

She said to him behind everyone’s back, “Big brother, don’t tell my father and Aunt Yun about me crying. The members of the Qiao family don’t allow me to talk about my mum, and Qiao Ya said that my mum is a bad woman.”

He nodded just to pacify her, but she asked him to make a pinky promise with her. She said that this was their secret.

The cigarette had burnt out. Li Yan could feel its heat on his fingers, and this jolted him out of his reverie.

He put out the cigarette. The little thing beside him squired a little and moved closer toward him.

She had changed a lot after ten years. The only thing that did not change was that she was still capable of tugging at his heart strings.

She had succeeded. Again, she managed to seduce him!

…..

Qiao Mu’s eyebrows were slightly furrowed as she slept, and she parted her lips a little. She looked like she was having an unpleasant dream.

She dreamed about the day her mother sold her off to her father. Her mother started haggling with her father as she wanted a large sum of money from him. She did not care that her daughter was there at all, and her words were mean and ruthless. After they settled on a price, her father held her hand as they walked away from her mother.

She then dreamed about something else. She dreamed about how the big brother next door whom she liked very much suddenly disappeared. His whole family had moved away. She cried her heart out, and she felt as miserable as she did the day her mother sold her off to her father.

Her heart ached as she opened her eyes abruptly. Only then did Qiao Mu realize that she was dreaming.

She lay there in a daze. She often dreamed about her mother abandoning her, but this was the first time she had dreamed about Li Yan leaving.

Her eyes were wet, and she realized that she had been crying.

Perhaps, that memory had come back because Li Yan suddenly showed up in her life again. She did not expect herself to feel so sad.

Qiao Mu was in a daze for quite a while before she came round. She sat up, and she froze when she realized that her whole body was aching.

She was in neither her room in the Qiao family’s mansion nor her hostel. She was in an unfamiliar place!

Qiao Mu immediately became so shocked that her heart skipped a beat. Her shoulders felt cold, and she finally regained her senses completely. She realized that she was naked…

The memory of what happened the night before slowly flooded into her mind, and her face immediately turned pale. She and Li Yan…

She only remembered that Li Yan had placed her on the bed. After that…’Damn it, why can’t I remember anything?’

There was no one beside her. Qiao Mu did not know whether to feel relieved or disappointed.

This was when the bathroom door opened. The man that she thought had left appeared before her.

He was wearing a bathrobe, and he glanced nonchalantly at her. He did not look guilty and uneasy at all after taking advantage of the fact that she was drunk!

Qiao Mu blinked as she looked at Li Yan, and her ears were red. No matter how upset she was, she could not change what had happened. Right now, she must appear calm!

But the person before her was Li Yan, her stepmother’s cousin. Technically, he was her uncle. Why was she careless enough to… f*ck him?

Erm… no. Her waist was hurting right now, but he appeared nonchalant and unaffected. He was the one who f*cked her!

Li Yan saw Qiao Mu’s facial expression. He tossed the towel he was holding aside and said flatly, “You’re awake. Let’s talk about what happened last night.”
