Chapter 329: Feng Mo's Identity!
"What the fuck is going on here?"
The commotion naturally drew the attention of the students in the library.
"Isn't that Ling Feng, the chief of our East Court? Why is he fighting again?"
"Yeah, it looks like him. And next to him is Qin Wanwan."
"Oh my gosh, I recognize the guy Ling Feng is holding. That's Mo Lin, the young prince from the Rongqin royal family!"
"I think I get it now! The chief is really something, daring to fight a young prince over a girl. That's fucking niubi[1]!"
"But this is going to be a big deal. The other party is a young prince, so this won't end well."
The students were buzzing with conversation, and some yellow-tier students from the East Court even ran to call for a mentor or academician to intervene.
This matter shouldn't be escalated any further!
Among the crowd, Feng Mo, who usually buried himself in the library reading "deeply profound" books, was also present.
When Feng Mo saw Mo Lin, his brows furrowed. Seeing the conflict between Ling Feng and Mo Lin, he sighed, thinking to himself, "Why did it have to be with that guy? This is going to be a headache..."
After a moment's hesitation, Feng Mo pushed his way to the front of the crowd, ready to step in if the situation escalated.
...
Ling Feng gripped Mo Lin's neck tightly, his expression menacing, looking as if he was ready to go all out.
Of course, Ling Feng didn’t really intend to kill the young prince. Though he wanted to stand up for Qin Wanwan, he wasn’t foolish enough to risk his own life by taking down Mo Lin.
His goal was to scare Mo Lin into backing off. After all, Mo Lin was clearly in the wrong for attempting to drug Qin Wanwan with nefarious intentions.
Qin Wanwan wasn’t just any girl; she was backed by the Jiangling royal family. Even though the Jiangling King had no real power and was an appointed noble, a royal family was still a royal family. If this incident were to blow up, it would not only disgrace the royal family but could also lead to a severe fallout with the Jiangling royal family—consequences that Mo Lin couldn't afford.
Mo Lin, knowing this, was likely to resort to underhanded tactics but wouldn’t dare escalate the situation too much.
"You... dare?" Mo Lin, struggling to breathe under Ling Feng’s grip, rasped, "You... filthy... commoner... you’ll die... horribly!"
"Before I die, you might want to worry about yourself first."
Ling Feng shrugged nonchalantly. "As a young prince, are you really willing to ruin your future and lose your life over a woman? Isn’t that a bit stupid?"
Just then, a shout came from behind the crowd of East Court yellow-tier students. "Instructor Leng is here! Instructor Leng is here!"
"Bastards, what's going on here? What's the situation?" Leng Jianfeng barged in, only to find that the situation had already resolved itself and the troublemakers had inexplicably departed.
"Damn, looks like my reputation still holds some weight, hahaha..." Leng Jianfeng threw his head back and laughed heartily.
Ling Feng, however, bit his lip and furrowed his brow. He found it strange that Mo Lin, a notorious playboy, would back down so easily.
He thought he needed to display enough strength to intimidate him into retreat, but Mo Lin had unexpectedly chosen to leave without much resistance.
"Could it really be because of Instructor Leng?"
Ling Feng rubbed his nose thoughtfully. Mo Lin left as soon as Leng Jianfeng arrived. Is there more to Leng Jianfeng’s background than meets the eye?
This would probably be the only reason...
Ling Feng was unaware that in the crowd behind him, Feng Mo let out a sigh of relief and quietly slipped away through the library's back door.
"Thank you, Ling Feng!" Qin Wanwan bit her lip and looked at Ling Feng with gratitude.
If Ling Feng hadn’t intervened, Mo Lin would have continued his blatant pursuit, and once he lost patience, who knew what underhanded tactics he might have resorted to.
"Thank your cousin; he’s the one who told me," Ling Feng shrugged nonchalantly. "Don’t worry, Mo Lin won’t bother you again."
Because he no longer has the ability of a normal man.
Ling Feng added silently to himself.
Qin Wanwan sniffled, her eyes moist as she gazed at Ling Feng’s retreating figure. "Stupid Ling Feng, why do you always have to meddle?"
"Just think of it as me meddling then," Ling Feng shrugged again and smiled faintly. "I’ve got other things to do. Make sure to explain everything to Instructor Leng for me, thanks!"
With that, Ling Feng used his movement art and swiftly left the library like a gust of wind.
"Damn, he just took off like that? Isn’t that basically a hit-and-run?" Leng Jianfeng cursed, clearly annoyed. "So I came all the way here for nothing?"
"Pfft!"
Qin Wanwan couldn’t help but laugh through her tears. She quickly walked over to Leng Jianfeng and began explaining. "Instructor Leng, here’s what happened..."
1. Niubility, often spelled as newbility, is a Chinglish noun describing formidability, incredibility or awesomeness. It derived from the Mandarin Chinese vulgar term "niubi/newby" which literally translates to cattle's cunt or cow's pussy. Usually written as "cow B" in mandarin. ☜
