Chapter 754: Aggressive
Tan Jian shot the driver a strange look, turning to the girl beside him. “Tangtang,” he said. “You’ve been here before?”
However, Yao Tang, didn’t appear to care about all the attention she was being given. She just continued to swipe on her phone screen. “Yeah, I’ve been here before.”
Chauffeur Wang noticed that President Tan was also looking over. His heart throbbed in his chest. “Miss Yao, you wanted to get off the car just now, right?” he asked cautiously. “Can you tell me why? Do you need my help?”
Yao Tang shrugged.
This time, she didn’t answer.
After a few seconds of calming everyone else down, Chauffeur Wang returned to his seat. Despite the bright smile on his face, his gaze was still boring at Yao Tang’s bowed head. Fear flashed in his eyes.
What was he going to do now?
Tan Jian took out a bandaid and applied it on his father’s forehead.
As he was doing so, Chauffeur Wang continued the drive. This time, he made sure to pay extra attention to the girl in the back.
Did she know anything?
He slowly turned the car around and drove in the opposite direction.
After a few minutes, he glanced at the backseat and found that Yao Tang’s head was still bowed. She continued to stare at her phone with no reaction at all.
Maybe he was overthinking things. She was just a high schooler. How could she know of their plan?
The car continued to speed down the main road, and President Tan slowly drifted off to sleep once more.
Tan Jian was sound asleep behind him.
Yao Tang was the only one who was awake. She was still concentrating on her phone.
He slowly smiled.
It seemed that these people would be approaching their doom later on. Soon, their leisurely faces will be replaced with that of desperation as they beg for mercy.
An hour later, President Tan was woken up by a soft rustling wind outside. He drowsily looked out the window and found that they were more isolated than he had thought.
The entire road was deserted, and there wasn’t a gas station in sight.
Was something wrong?
He took out his phone and was about to search for their location, only to see that his phone had lost signal.
A bad feeling stirred in his stomach.
“Didn’t you say that we’re taking a shortcut?” President Tan demanded. “Shouldn’t we have arrived already? There’s not a single person around!”
“Don’t worry. We’ll be arriving shortly.”
Chauffeur Wang smiled.
His heart tightened as he glanced at the backseat.
At that moment, Yao Tang was still gazing at her phone. She didn’t look like something bad had happened. Instead, she still appeared quite calm and composed.
Was he being overly suspicious?
“Is this really the way to the airport? Maybe you’ve taken a wrong turn?” he asked again.
Chauffeur Wang sighed.
“I’m an experienced driver. How can I not know the way? Besides, I’ve taken this road for your safety. Look, there are no cars around. It’s much safer to drive here.”
Tan Jian was also woken up by the noise. He picked up his phone to check the time, only to see that his phone also hadn’t regained its signal.
Something was wrong.
“This isn’t the way to the airport, right?” he said directly. “What are you trying to do? Stop the car now!”
Before Tan Jian could finish, Chauffeur Wang shot him a glare.
“Fine!”
He stomped his foot on the brakes. “You wanted to get out of the car, right? You better not regret it!”
He stepped out fo the car.
“Well? Don’t you want to get out? Now that I’ve stopped the car, get out!”
As he was talking, several cars quickly surrounded them.
There were three other vans behind them, and before long, dozens of people rushed out of the vans. All of them were wearing black coats. Their eyes were narrowed, and their hands were wrapped around electric batons.
It seemed that they weren’t going anywhere.
