790 Was He Really Wrong?
“You really think so?”
Elder Xu sneered.
What did he mean about looking out for her junior? What did he mean about the Green Cloud Pavilion finally recognizing his skills? Cai Cheng was obviously looking for the easiest way out.
He was just finding reasons to justify his laziness.
It would take years for someone to cultivate their own spiritual power. This meant years of hard work and determination. It wasn’t for the faint of heart.
Taking a shortcut would only cost him his life!
“By using the secret technique suggested by the Green Cloud Pavilion, you’ll only be exhausting yourself, and when that happens, you’ll collapse. There are truly no shortcuts in this world, and if there are, they always have consequences.”
Elder Xu reminded.
Even then, Cai Cheng snorted, turning his head to the other side. “I don’t believe you,” he spat. “You’re just jealous that my strength has improved and increased. Listen, if we could reduce the time we’ve spent on cultivating our power, why should we spend more time on this?”
“The only thing you lot are, are idiots!”
Finally, he glanced over at Liu Feng. “Have you seen just how strong I am? Back then, I was incomparable to you, but now, I was able to injure you. You must feel terrible, right?”
“The only thing I’m uncomfortable about is how you’ve betrayed us for something as useless as this,” Liu Feng snapped.
As soon as he said this, Cai Cheng fell silent.
He felt a ball rise up to his throat.
The young man slowly glanced around to see that the rest of his fellow disciples felt the same way. All of their eyes were narrowed, and their lips were set in a thin line. The pity is Liu Feng’s voice echoed in his mind.
Was he really in the wrong?
Every person had their own ambitions.
He shouldn’t be blamed for having his own hopes and dreams. He just wanted to have it all. Was this really his fault?
He rapidly blinked, trying to get rid of the tears that were threatening to spill.
Elder Xu didn’t appear much bothered about the young man. Instead, he looked around. “Call Tangtang until she answers,” he commanded. “Deng Hai, call President Tan. Liu Feng, call up Chauffeur Wang.”
He gritted his teeth.
On the bright side, he had been able to ask for their phone numbers right before they were about to leave. He didn’t expect, however, that he’d have to contact them right now.
Everyone immediately set out to their respective tasks.
Hopefully, one of them would pick up!
If something were to happen to them...his stomach lurched at the thought.
Deng Hai and Liu Feng appeared somber as they delivered the news. “I can’t get through. I don’t think there’s any signal—where they’re already at.”
As Elder Xu glanced at his own phone, he realized that his phone was still ringing.
However, just as they thought that she’d finally pick up her phone, the call only went to a dead end.
“They must be in trouble!”
Elder Li ran a hand through his hair. “Their flight isn’t on till an hour. They should’ve picked up the phone by now.”
Even if Yao Tang and the two others weren’t able to pick up their phone, Chauffeur Wang should’ve been able to pick it up by now, right? But he also wouldn’t answer the phone.
What would they do now?
Something must’ve happened to them.
“Could Junior Sister be separated from them?” Deng Hai hesitated, unable to explain what was going on.
If they were separated, it would explain why only her phone had signal.
Liu Feng’s face darkened. “Why don’t we try to locate her then?”
“I can try!”
“Yes, let’s do that.”
“Contact the professionals. They might be able to do it.”
“Got it.”
Everyone was obviously in a state of panic.
If Yao Tang was really kidnapped, they wouldn’t know what to do.
Elder Xu quickly contacted his friends around the area, trying to get a hold of Yao Tang.
However, he only received a very strange result.
Despite the fact that her phone had a signal, they couldn’t locate her at all. It was as if someone was blocking them from reaching her!
