"Be careful!"
Yang Ming said while he was escorting Yao Ran back into the car.
Finally, the car left the hotel as it zoomed along the empty street.
The young woman can finally relax. She leaned back against her seat as she watched the flashing lights appearing in her window.
"Director Yang sure is lucky with women." The driver suddenly looked up.
What? Who the heck was this driver to talk to her in this manner? She gazed up at him, wondering if she had heard him wrong. However, from the minute she did, she could tell there was something different about his voice and his temperament.
"Aren't you afraid that I could get you to lose your job?" she finally spoke.
"I am afraid," he slowly said. "But I don't think you'll let that happen either."
The driver parked the car in the other alleyway before turning around to look at her. His eyes had a weird glint, and a chill shot down her spine.
Yao Ran froze. "What are you doing?" she demanded. "What do you want from me?"
"You've grown." The driver's voice sounded gentle and bewitching. If this was another conversation, she would've been quite intrigued by him. However, this wasn't any other conversation. Yao Ran continued to stay in the corner, completely frozen.
"Don't worry," he continued. "I wouldn't hurt you."
Suddenly, the driver turned around. The artificial light shone over him, and she couldn't help but find him quite eye-catching with his handsome face.
Yao Ran froze. What was this? Didn't he look like someone else?
"Well? Do you have nothing to say?"
The man blinked.
"Who—who are you?"
"Who do you think I am?"
"You're from the Sky Clan?"
"Please." The man snorted. "Don't compare me to that trash clan!"
"If you're someone else, then why else are you looking for me?" Yao Ran didn't look too convinced by the man's words. "Why don't you look for Yao Tang?"
"Yao Tang? That bitch is the reason why I've been looking for you." The driver chuckled darkly. Whatever his experience was with that woman, it certainly wasn't good.
"I was asking—why don't I help you? Let's deal with that woman together?"
Yao Ran furrowed her eyebrows. "And why should I believe you?" There wasn't a free lunch in this world. this man obviously wanted something.
And he was dangerous too.
She inched a bit farther from him.
"Because I can help you get everything you could ever want. Yao Tang wouldn't even know what's coming for her."
"Help me out?" Yao Ran snorted, rolling her eyes. "Who else could help me but me? If you had been willing to help me without asking for anything, why would you only come here now?"
"I must have something that you want, right? Just spit it out now while I'm in a good mood!"
The driver smirked. "Seems like the girl has a brain after all," he said, chuckling. "If I had appeared earlier, would you have known how much you could have risen? Or how bad it felt to be isolated from it all? Well?"
"I've seen what you're capable of, and I want to help. As for what I can get from you—none of your belongings interest me."
"I—" Yao Ran gritted her teeth.
"I want to train someone like you—someone with ambition. It would be interesting." The driver strokes his chin, leaning against his seat. He didn't seem bothered by her.
"All I need is for you to acknowledge me as your Master."
"What did you just say?"
Yao Ran scoffed, unsure of how to react. "Are you crazy? I don't know you at all! I don't even know how capable you are, and you want me to acknowledge you as my teacher?"
