Chapter 168 - Who Was That?

"Well, if you change your mind... -do let me know and I would make the arrangement right away. Promise me that you would think about it, alright?" He then continued walking towards his office without waiting for her reply.

Ashley just shook her head as she heads toward the breakroom. After she put the food in the fridge, she quickly returned to Koji's office so they could start Working.

However, her eyes widened when she saw that the plastic covers of the table and chairs were already gone. "Wow! That was quick, I wonder who did it?" She wonders since there was no one else in the office but Koji.

While she stood by the threshold and reluctant to approached Koji so they could start working. The employee came from the supply department with some supplies. She moves out of the way so they could enter.

"Excuse me- sir, where do you want us to put these supplies?" One of the employees asked while carrying a box to what it seems to be a laptop. Another employee was behind him carrying more supplies, waiting for Koji's response.

Koji had noticed that Ashley was back and was just standing in the doorway, looking like she was lost. He smiled secretly before responding sternly to the employee from the supply department.

"What kind of a question is that. Do you not see a desk that has no equipment? Of course, you put it in there!" Koji's snarled at the employee with a serious look on his face.

"Yes, sir!" The employees hurriedly put the equipment on Ashley's desk and arranged them one by one. They even made sure that the laptop is securely plugged in and turned on. 

They checked and make sure Ashley has everything she would need. Once they are satisfied that everything she would need was all there, "would there be anything else, sir?" One of the employees asked with a baffled voice. 

Koji looks at Ashley's direction. "What do you think? Is there anything else you want or need? If so, go ahead and tell them and they would bring it right away." He proudly said with a spark in his eyes as he looks at her.

She looks around the table and checked if there's anything missing. "Hmmm, how about stapler and staples? I don't see one. Do you mind getting me one, please!" 

"Oh' I'm sorry!" The employee pulled something from his pocket and put it in the table.

"I apologize, ma'am, I forgot I put it in my pocket." When they had finished, they quickly said goodbye and run out of the room as if the devil was chasing them. 

"These bosses here are too serious, no one knows how to smile. One would think that when their mothers were craving, they all ate nothing but lemon and lime. I swear!" One of the employees mumbles to himself as he left Koji's office.

Ashley smiled slightly at what she heard. She suddenly thought of her husband. 'I wondered if he as arrived yet? What time is it in America now?' She glanced at the time on her phone and quickly calculated the time difference to find out what time it was in America.

"With twelve hours difference, it means it's night over there right now. Should I call and check if he has arrived yet?" Ashley mumbles to herself as she wondered how she would ask Koji's permission?

Ashley did not know that Koji was watching her the whole time. He figures that It seemed as though she had something to say, but he didn't know how to approach the subject to her.

'Perhaps she wanted to call Tanaga before we begin working.' He thought while thinking of how to tell her.

"Miss Gusman, if you need to report to CEO Jones first, go ahead! I have something important to do. So 'up to you!" Said Koji nonchalant.

Ashley was delighted with Koji's offer. She didn't hesitate any more and quickly accepted the offer. 

"Thank you! I didn't know how I was going broach the subject, but now that you mention it-I will. Do you mind if I go to sir Tanaga's office to make the call? I also need to check on the girls making sure they are not playing hookey." She jokingly said as she picked up her bag getting ready to leave.

A couple of minutes later, she was back in Tanaga's office. Tiny who was guarding her from the distance went straight to Sato's office to wait. He doesn't want the Junior secretaries to notice him.

"Good morning ladies!" Ashley said as she went straight to Tanaga's office and locked the door to prevent anyone from entering. She didn't even bother waiting to see if the girls heard her or not.

As soon as she was in safe haven of Tanaga's office, she quickly dials his number. "Come on, come on! Answer the darn phone, honey!" She mumbles as she waited for Tanaga to pick up. 

However, he did not pick up the call and she had to dial a few more times before Tanaga finally answered. What baffles her was when she was calling through facetime-he didn't pick up? After a couple of tries, she decided to just call regularly with only voice and he answered. 'Hmmm?'

"Hi! I see you already arrived in America?" She greeted with sadness in her voice.

"Yes! we just finished meeting with the company's lawyers." Response Tanaga without greeting her back and he seemed to be covering his mouth as he spoke because his voice was so weak.

When Tanaga didn't add to what was being said, Ashley didn't ask either. She decided to go ahead and finish the conversation for it seems that he's really busy. 

"I see! Well, it looks like you're very busy, so just call me when you have time." Her voice sounded a little upset because Tanaga didn't seem to have any desire to talk to her.

She waited for Tanaga's reply, but none came. Therefore, she decided to just hang up the phone, when she suddenly heard a woman's voice on the background.

"Tan, who is that?" Ashley asked with obvious concern and a bit of jealousy.
