Chapter 408 - Taking Over...

Everything was well-planned out. Tanaga was to spend some time with Tanaka, so he'd be informed of the things he needed to know as the CEO of THJ Group, and butler Ruffy would also return to Japan to accompany and assist Tanaka. 

Tanaga spoke with Koji to inform him of his plans about guiding Tanaka and assist him in running the company. Koji was more ecstatic when hearing Tanaka was returning to Japan, and Tanaga wasn't. He had plans of his own, and the fact that Tanaga was now out of the picture helped it greatly. 

As a precaution to make sure no one suspected him, Tanaka would live in Tanaga's mansion and act as if he was Tanaga himself. This plan would continue until Tanaga was finally finished with his treatment, so, for now, Tanaka would have to live as Tanaga. 

Since Tanaga had been absent for about a year, there was a board meeting to address why. The plan was to use the reason Tanaga had gotten in an accident while he was on a business trip and lost his memories during the accident. It was foolproof since it was a valid reason he had been absent for long, and it also wouldn't be suspicious if Tanaka slipped up names and forgot who was who.

Meanwhile, it was a sad day at home since it was the same day Ruffy was to leave for Japan with Tanaka. He didn't want to go back to Japan without his charge, but Tanaga had requested it and there was nothing he could do.

Jessie was trying his best to comfort his brother, trying to assure him as much as possible. 

"Don't worry, and you won't be in Japan for too long. It's only a couple of months at most. We'll all go to Japan once my son-in-law's cure, and we'll be able to see you," he assured as he gave his brotherly figure a tight embrace before lightly squeezing his shoulder.

In no time, Tanaka had already arrived in Japan, ready to take over the company in place of his twin. He was taken to Tanaga's mansion, where the household help didn't know that the man who'd be living there wasn't Tanaga was disappointed to not see Ashley with him when he arrived. 

Before he arrived in Japan, Tanaka had learned all of Tanaga's mannerisms to act less suspicious and tricked others into thinking he was Tanaga. When he meant others, it also included the household help, who still assumed it was Tanaga they were meeting, not his twin. 

Since the bodyguards they had hired were still news, they didn't know how Tanaga regularly acted, so it wouldn't be too hard to put up an act.

Tanaka would only stay at the mansion for one night, using why he missed his wife, which would eventually lead him to stay at his condominium instead. 

Unbeknownst to him, a woman was already living there, and she'd be the reason for all his future headaches. That woman was no other than Miss Ohani Yamaguchi.

The next day, Tanaka arrived at the THJ Group headquarters, where the board of directors was lined up at its front, waiting to welcome him back.

All the higher-ups had received a memo that CEO Jones was finally returning after a long absence. Koji was briefed about this and knew that it was not Tanaga, but instead, Tanaka's twin brother. He was to act accordingly, making sure he was present when Tanaka arrived. 

"Welcome back, CEO Jones," everyone greeted as they bowed to pay their respects as he made his way to the inside of the building. 

Tanaka acted the way Tanaga normally would, wearing a cold, stern-looking poker face as his bodyguards followed right behind him. 

Koji walked by his side as he headed straight to the building's private elevator, not acknowledging the presence of any of the board members and the other higher-ups. As much as Tanaka had previously practiced, his heart was thumping like crazy. He almost got a heart attack when he stood in front of the private elevator. 

Everyone gazed at the CEO of THJ Group. Their gazes never left him as they waited for the elevator to arrive. 

Minutes later, a ding was heard, and the elevators' doors opened. 

Everyone waited for Tanaga to enter. 

Koji waited for him, planning to use the common elevator, but Tanaka was having none of it. Once the doors were about to close, Tanaka spoke. 

"President Hanada, what are you waiting for? Come, I have something to discuss with you," he said sternly, showing others his voice of authority. 

Koji raised his brow, uncertain if this was some joke and whether or not he should enter the elevator with him. He didn't want the others to get suspicious of Tanaka for doing things differently than Tanaga would've done. Still, he did let everyone hear that they had an important matter to discuss, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to enter the elevator. 

Right before the doors came to a close, Koji entered the elevator. 

The elevator doors came to a close, and everyone else let out a sigh before heading to the common elevator to go to the meeting room.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you!" Tanaka said, much to everyone's surprise. He had shocked all the board members and all other higher-ups that were currently present. That was Tanaka's first mistake. Tanaga would never say that. 

"Is he alright? I have never heard him say that before. Is this because of his accident? Did it somehow make him more human than he was?" I asked one of the board members to another. 

"Hmmm, if that was the case, that's a good thing," answered the other member. 

"You are correct. This might greatly benefit the company," admitted another board member. 

While they were busy gossiping, Tanaka continued speaking, continuing to thank everyone for all their help and how they kept the company going when he was absent.

"As I was saying, now that I'm back... We will take the THJ Group to the highest level. Together we will work to be the best of the best and number of in our fields." He spoke with sincerity, eyes looking at everyone in the room for approval. 

Once he finished speaking, everyone clapped at his words, right before they continued their busy business agenda. 

About half an hour later, the meeting was finally over, and all board members were satisfied with the progress they had made and extremely glad CEO Jones was finally back. Tanaka made a promise that he'd take the company to another level. He had many projects in mind, and with Koji's assistance, they'd take THJ Group much higher than it already was and hopefully show his grandmother and his twin brother what he could accomplish.

Koji, on the other hand, has different plans. Now that Tanaga's out of the picture, and Tanaka's only a puppet, he will execute the plans he has been scheming for the longest... It's time to take the game to the next level, and that's to venture out of THJ Group and formulate his own company...
