As the Dragon God spoke, the Gods of Datar realized how much more dire their situation turned out to be. Perhaps they had no other way out than to turn to the Nexus Being or rely on themselves. Right now, they could only hope that there was a chance for the future for them.
"It is best that you do not delay in reaching out to the Nexus Being." The Dragon God advised.
"No need, I am already here." A voice buzzed as a red light appeared in the center of the hall, forming a head sized ball that floated. "The help I can provide you is limited, but I believe it will suffice with defeating the crazed True God."
Eyes immediately went bright, but a moment later, they dulled.
"Limited help? I hoped that you could force him to back down." After taking a moment to compose himself, Shorn asked the Nexus Being.
"Unfortunately for you, I am limited in the means I am able to mobilize. So, I will have to channel my power through someone else. The best vessel for that here is Leon."
Eyes turned to Leon once again as he was made the center of attention. Thankfully, he was not caught off guard, as he had already discussed this with the Nexus Being prior to this meeting.
"Must it be him?" Tiphone asked, sounding annoyed. Even in the face of destruction, he held onto his dislike for Leon.
"His body is already receptive to such a large influx of power that will propel his strength to the level of a True God. That said, I cannot do it alone." The attention of the Nexus Being turned to the True God of Truth. "Vesper, I will need your aid."
"My aid? And what shall I get in return?" The Dragon God sounded intrigued.
The Gods took their leave one by one after that and before long, just those that were requested to stay remained.
"Fazir, Michael. I need the two of you to handle maintaining the stability of Datar during this period. Part of the reason why I do not want the weaker Gods to participate is because they will be assisting the two of you with their power. With the combined power of dozens of Gods, you should be able to hold the World Foundation together long enough for us to fight.
However, it also depends on how long the fight will drag out."
"And how long is that?" Shorn asked.
"Anything between minutes to months." The Nexus Being responded flatly.
"..." A tense moment passed before Shorn let out a sigh. "I guess this is it. It's either we win or we lose, no in between."
"Yes. If you lose, then I can tell you that the universe will become a much darker place for all of us. If you win, then it will be the opposite, as a universe without such a force of darkness and terror will be a much greater place to be."
"It sounds like the Paragon of Undeath, Izeal, has been a thorn in your side for a very long time. Why did you not take care of him long ago?" Fazir suddenly spoke up curiously.
The other Gods also expressed curiosity, but Leon was exempt from their curiosity. After all, he already understood the story behind the Paragon of Undeath's lust for power.
"That... is not a story you need to concern yourself with." The Nexus Being answered flatly, showing that it had no intention of satisfying their curiosity.
