“Kukuku, as expected of Haishin-sama.”
He muttered to himself in one of the ramshackle huts.
His name was Pacul, a commoner with no distinguishing features.
“I can’t believe I’m raising this much money… it’s a piece of cake.”
Pacul smiled ecstatically at the sound of gold coins jingling in the bag.
He was the one who raised money by using the hottest name of the moment, Haishin, and lying about supporting him.
Nowadays, few people don’t know about Haishin, and many children don’t doubt him because he has a growing fan base among them.
“It feels good to make money this easy. Just a little bit of pretending to be a follower of Haishin, and people won’t think I’m lying.”
Pacul felt no guilt for using his name without permission or taking money from pure children.
In the first place, he was an evil man who never worked and made his living by fraud and burglary.
He was skillful and had no evidence against him… he didn’t sneak into a noble’s residence, but only of commoners of the same status, so he did not get caught.
“It’s not a crime that I can’t outwardly speak about. Besides, I’m a listener who listens to Haishin. Feels much better, hahaha!”
Sure, he was a listener, but he’s not qualified to call himself one when did something like this.
In the first place, using someone’s name without permission is neither legal nor proper, and it’s worse when the money raised is not sent to the person in question but only used to line your own pockets.
“Well, the feeling’s mutual, Haishin. You get paid to talk just as much as I do, so we’re both guilty of the same thing.”
This man, it seems, was rotten to the end.
But in a way, it was inevitable that people would talk about the great things that Haishin was doing in this way.
Many people in this world are jealous because they think he is getting paid just to talk into a terminal, and there are many like Pacul who are thinking of either tricking him or taking advantage of him.
“… An?”
But he didn’t truly understand Haishin’s influence.
Rather, he does not know the fear of those enchanted and who adore Haishin.
“… what?”
The time was night, around when it was expected for Haishin to be streaming.
Something was loitering by the hut he was in, so Pacul leaned over to look and see what the h**l it was.
“… Hey, hey. What’s up with you, Babe?”
There she was, a beautiful woman.
Her revealing, rag-like clothing was clearly inviting to men, and her dark hair, dyed like the dark night, seemed to glow in the moonlight.
“… Ha ♪.”
“?”
The woman exhaled, and Pacul quickly ran out of the hut.
As his body wouldn’t listen to him, he jumped on the woman with an unusual degree of absentmindedness.
“An ♪.”
“Hehe, what are you doing here all alone?”
‘Funny, funny,’ Pacul kept thinking.
The woman in front of him smiled happily even though she had been grabbed by Pacul, looking like she would not complain if he attacked her at that moment.
Why does he desire women so much? Why does he feel like an ape, unable to control his excitement? What little reason he had remained appealed to him about these unintelligible feelings.
“You’re a tough one, aren’t you? What are you going to do about it?”
Although she was a beautiful woman, her voice was husky, and her manner of speaking was somewhat masculine, but she was definitely a woman.
Pacul drooled as he hugged her voluptuous body.
“Heh… heheheheheheheh.”
There was not a shred of reason left in Pacul.
The questioning appeals he had felt earlier no longer made sense, and Pacul could only see the woman in front of her now.
“Mm-hm. You’ve got a strong body… That’s going to work well.”
The woman patted him on the back, and he fell to the ground with his eyes closed, like a child nursed by its mother.
He was not dead. He just fell asleep, still breathing.
“Wonderful. But… the atmosphere is too calm, and it’s driving me crazy. I see, so this is what you call a succubus.”
A man appeared wearing armour. He looked at the woman and mouthed the word succubus.
At that moment, with a bashing sound, the woman sprouted wings and a tail.
“That guy’s tough as nails. As I said, he’s going to work hard.”
“I know. We’ll bring him and make him pay for what he’s done immediately… Well. I don’t know if he’ll make it back out alive.”
The woman was a succubus and a demonkind, while the man was just a human. This scene was quite unusual.
Although demons have conveyed an offer of a ceasefire to the human world, the two sides have yet to come to terms with each other.
But they formed a cooperative relationship with one goal in mind.
“I won’t allow anyone to use Haishin-sama’s name without permission. That goes for you too, right?”
“Yeah. I’m a big fan of his too! Hey, hey! The stream’s about to start!”
… Yes, that’s what it was about.
So this succubus woman and soldier were also big fans of Haishin.
“Even so, since you’re a demon, I thought you’d kill him.”
“Haishin-sama told us not to harm people needlessly, and that’s what the Demon Lord has told us all. We’re sworn to stay close to Haishin-sama and be a civilized listeners wherever we go.”
“… I see.”
A good listener. That’s what the demons were trying to keep in mind.
The soldier man left with the sleeping man on his back, wishing the humans would do the same.
The fact that someone using Haishin’s name was collecting money made Haishin try to move on his own, but the demons moved faster than that.
“Have I been of any use to you, Haishin-sama? I’m the one who taught her.”
The woman mentioned her as a certain former assassin.
Demons can see other people’s magic, so they can easily find out about Haishin’s true identity as soon as they see him.
Still, they don’t go where he’s likely to be because they’re proud to be his followers to all intents and purposes.
“We listeners are the reflection of Haisin-sama… therefore, if we were to be stupid… it would be Haishin-sama who would get inconvenienced!”
Unbeknownst to humans, there have recently been disturbing movements among the demons. A demon belonging to a radical faction has fled to the human world, but it is currently under investigation.
This woman also happened to be in the middle of her mission when she learned of Pacul’s activities in the vicinity, so she dealt with the situation.
“A demon who likes to fight… Oh dear. I guess he’s not in his right mind… I wonder where the h**l he ran off to. I’ll have to check out some more remote villages and settlements.”
The woman muttered and took off with her wings.
Then, Pacul, one of the frauds, was successfully taken down by the local security forces.
Thus the matter of fraudulent fundraising using the name of Haishin has been resolved.
He got informed of this through Mira. The demon-kinds helped him out in this regard.
However, Kanata also told his listeners in the stream to be careful because he had never done this kind of fundraising and would never do it in the future.
Now that the matter was settled and a brief peace had come… Kanata was now in the building considered the largest in the royal capital— the Royal Castle.
“Ohh, so you’re Haishin-sama!”
“Well, Haishin-sama, how I’ve missed you!”
The King and Queen were delighted, dancing madly in front of him, and Maria’s siblings were further behind them with their eyes wide open as they wanted to talk to him too.
“Father and mother, don’t annoy Haishin-sama too much.”
“Yes. Your Highness And Her Highness, if you bother Haishin-sama too much, I won’t keep quiet either.”
The air was tense and unpleasant, but Alphana’s intimidation didn’t bother them, as they were still shedding tears of joy at the sight of Haishin.
(… I’m just here to see Maria’s younger brother and sister.)
Wearing a black robe, Kanata let out a tired sigh under his mask.
He’s merely a streamer… a Haishinsha, you may ask, but Kanata was bewildered to get treated like a guest of honour, and it made him think again about his position.
