Chapter 12 – Yandere and Flirty Guy

“Asai-san? Ah, I know, I know. She’s one of the ‘Four Famous Students of the University,’ right?”

Moroboshi replied as he sipped his ramen. This guy eats ramen all the time. I can’t really speak for others, but I think it’s inadequate.

“You know Asai-san, too? You’ve got connections with a lot of weirdos, don’t you?”

“Don’t look at me like you’re sorry.”

“I actually feel sorry for you. College students are…supposed to have fun.”

“You play too much, so I can’t really take your word for it.”

“Really?”

Tsubaki must be behind me while I’m having lunch with Moroboshi like this. Although these days, I try not to look back with a strong feeling of “if I care, I lose.”

“Oi~, Tsubaki-chan. Don’t hide like that and come here.”

“Why do you do such unnecessary things!?”

“Eh? I mean she looks so sad. Standing there in the dark like that.”

I was about to run away, but Tsubaki was already sitting next to me. She better put that reflex to better use for something else.

“Senpai, Moroboshi-san, good day. I see you two are as close as ever.”

“Ah, don’t worry, Tsubaki-chan. I’m not interested in men~”

“I know very well, fufu…”

“I can tell. Well, it’s true that me and Takenaga are good friends.”

Eh, what is this feeling? Is Tsubaki and Moroboshi having a normal conversation? They seem like they’re friends…

“Ah, senpai… Are you jealous that Moroboshi-san and I are chatting? I’m not going anywhere, you know?”

“I’d be happier if you’d go away… But no, I’m just wondering why you guys seem so strangely close.”

After hearing my words, they looked at each other and started laughing, “Fufufu” and “Hahaha,” respectively. What is this feeling of being left out?

“I have a non-war agreement with Tsubaki. It’s an alliance, so to speak.”

“It’s a give-and-take relationship.”

It’s oddly annoying to see them both grinning at each other. When I heard the word “agreement,” I understood the general situation, but now it’s irritating me even more now that I’ve understood it.

“Moroboshi, you betrayed me.”

“Betrayal isn’t a very good thing to hear. I’m your friend, not your ally.”

“What’s with the sophistry?”

“It’s not sophistry. I care about you, second only to my own convenience.”

Moroboshi’s glasses shined. I’ve always known Moroboshi isn’t a good guy, but he’s really a scumbag after all. Perhaps this guy is profiting in some way from Tsubaki by selling my personal information. And I have some idea what that “profit” is… It’s most likely woman-related.

I just don’t understand why this guy, with his stern appearance, unkempt hair and beard, and even round-rimmed glasses, is so popular, but life is always unreasonable.

“There, there, senpai. You’ll ruin your cute face if you get so angry. Come on, smile. The camera’s over here.”

“What kind of person would take sneak pictures so openly!? Seriously… Don’t you people have any human empathy?”

“I like Takenaga because he’s always there for me, even when he hates me.”

“Stop it, you’re freaking me out.”

Moroboshi brought his face closer to kiss me, but Tsubaki mercilessly smacked him on the head, preventing him from doing so. Despite this, both of them were grinning at each other.

Maybe these guys just get along with each other pretty well.

But then again, why am I chit-chatting along so well with these guys? I’ve known Moroboshi is a scumbag for a long time, and Tsubaki is almost a criminal. The university is a big place, and there must have been a way to stay away from these people.

“Well, senpai can’t leave bad people alone, you see. That’s the wonderful thing about him.”

“So you do realize you’re a bad person!”

“Eh, I wonder if I’m such a bad person…”

“Moroboshi, you should have more self awareness!”

I just couldn’t help retorting. I really can’t stay away from these guys.

Someday we will have to part ways. If these guys haven’t become genuine human beings by then… Isn’t it bad already that I’ve thought about that!? But it’s also a social disservice to leave these quirky people on their own…

“Ah, now that I remember, Tsubaki-chan, why do you call Takenaga ‘senpai’?”

“Eh? Because my last name will eventually become ‘Takenaga’ and I thought ‘senpai’ would be better than getting used to calling him that. Also, I once called him ‘husband,’ but he didn’t answer me…”

“Hahaha! I see, I see! I hope you two get married soon.”

“Senpai, I have found the matchmaker for our wedding.”

Hmm, I need to cut ties with these guys as soon as possible, after all. Do your best, me…

(T/N: Doing daily update is kinda hard for me right now, but let’s try first… I’ll update again regarding release schedule in a few days.)
