Chapter 44 Egg

Today was a refreshing day…. Supposedly.

But instead, I was being crushed by Alex’s weight.

Yesterday I thought I’d finally get to relax for the whole day but Alex suddenly came and pushed me down. 

In the end I ended up having sex with him again.

This dragon… His sex drive was really high and he was not the least ashamed to satiate his urge anytime and anywhere he wanted to.

And the eggs I got from mating with him was really heavy too.

“Too… Heavy… L-let me go…” I groaned.

“Ghu… Ugh… Uwah! W-wah! A-aahh!”

Alexis fell asleep on top of me after mating so I tried to wake him up.

When he finally woke up, he stumbled away from me in surprise. 

Uuuh.. It’s because you’re too big for your own good.

Even though he only put half of his weight on me, it was still too much for me. 

I thought he was going to suffocate me to death. 

While I was crawling away from Alex’s body, something came to my mind. 

“Which reminds me.. Alex, are you the only dragon left?”

“No? There’s a green dragon and water dragon too.”

“Oh! So there are other dragons!”

“But those guys often change their nest so it’s hard to pinpoint their location.”

Apparently other dragon species still existed.

“Ah…”

Alexis trailed, he had a bitter look on his face. 

He groaned once more before he finally said.

“I know the whereabouts of the dark dragon.”

“Really?!”

I shot up in excitement, we could finally have a chance to add another species of dragon into our family!

Looking at my excitement, Alexis patted my head to calm me down.

“Don’t get your hopes up. The last remaining dark dragon is over 2000 years old but I only know about his location. I don’t know about anything else, just his location.”

Alexis exhaled and continued with the same bitter expression on his face. 

“And whether he will cooperate with you or not… Is a whole different matter. That old fossil, he… Ah…”

“I see.”

So it was up to me whether he would cooperate with us or not.

“Well then! Since you’re already up, let’s go for one more round?”

Alexis pushed me down onto the bed again, ready for another round. 

I sighed to myself. Seemed like I had to wait until tomorrow to go to the dark dragon’s place.

After taking another day of break because I was too tired from mating with Alexis, I finally got on top of Alex’s back and departed toward the dark dragon’s nest. 

As expected, flying on Alexis’ back felt so nice. 

Despite Alexis soaring on the sky with high velocity, it still took us almost the whole day to reach our destination.

The sky was already getting dark by the time we arrived at the dark dragon’s nest. 

“If you think gaining his cooperation is impossible, tell me immediately. That old man almost chewed the Maou from the sixth generations before to death.”

“R-really?!”

“Yeah, his only reason was because the Maou had interrupted his slumber.”

What the…. 

What a scary guy…

“I tried to get that old man out of his nest so many times but he wouldn’t listen. For the last 800 years, he never went out of his cave even once.”

Alexis reminded me once again to be careful before he saw me off and let me walk into the dark dragon’s nest alone.

The cave looked so gloomy.

S-scary…

I should’ve let Alexis come with me had I known the cave looked this creepy. 

Even though I had a torch with me, the cave was so dark like a never ending abyss, it sent my sense into overdrive. 

I used my perception skill to scan the surrounding area. 

Level 765 Dark Dragon. 

…. Wha-?

I used the perception skill once more and ended up having the same result.

I gulped down on air as I realized the demon I was about to meet was one of the highest level demons I ever encountered. 

If by any chance I were to offend him, he could easily kill me with one hit. 

Ma-maybe I should go back with Alexis now…..

The cowardly part of my heart suggested, but in the end I continued on to walk in the dark abyss. 

I didn’t know how long I had walked until I came to a large clearing. 

Fresh blow of air flew through, the atmosphere felt so different here.

I held up my torch and saw a black lustre scale shining back at me. 

What I thought was a mountain turned out it was none but a part of the sleeping dragon’s body. 

How many times bigger is he than Alexis? 

My body froze up but miraculously I was still able to say the following words.

The disgraceful voice of me biting my tongue while talking echoed in the cave. 

… This bad habit of mine really came biting back at me at the best time……

“Can you please wake up now.. Um.. I mean.. Just a little bit… No, I mean.. I’m not a door to door salesman so….”

The more I spoke, my voice became even lower and sounded even more pathetic.

Just as I was about to take a step back, a reverberating roar came crashing in like an earthquake. 

((Who dare disturb my slumber…..))

I was struck with a pressure of high magical power from the voice that spoke directly into me.

“I-I’m Maou. I come here to make you become one of my subordinates.” I stuttered. 

((What?))

“No, I mean.. If you’d spare me a little bit of your power.. I’d be grateful…”

Crap… I’m too cowardly and weak….

((Go home, Maou. I’m busy guarding my egg.))

“Egg?”

Certainly the mighty dark dragon was keeping an egg warm on his chest. 

But according to Alexis, the dark dragon never stepped a foot outside for the last 800 years.

The dark dragon was silent.

The dark dragon peered his head toward the sky and recalled his tale with a nostalgic expression.

Once again, the dark dragon stared at the rotten egg with a loving look.

This dark dragon.. For the past 800 years, he didn’t move an inch..

Committed on protecting the already dead egg… All alone…

Tears started to overflow from my eyes. 

How deep was the dragon’s despair?

And.. All the pain he had to endure all by himself…

For 800 years… The dragon kept on atoning for his sin as his body withered away with time…

Anger and sadness came bubbling in from my heart. 

I ran.

I ran toward the dragon’s chest. 

Toward the rotten egg.

The dark dragon pulled his neck up, prepared to unleash his breath on me. 

But I was faster. 

I smashed the dark dragon’s egg in one single hit. 

There was nothing but rotten liquid remained inside the egg. 

Only the sound of hissing from the rotten liquid could be heard in the dark cave as the two of us stared at the broken egg. 

((YOUUUUUUUU!!!!!))

“OPEN YOUR EYES!! LOOK AT IT CLOSELY! THE EGG… THE EGG IS ALREADY DEAD!! THERE’S NO LIFE LEFT IN THAT EGG!!”

((I know…)) 

“IF YOU ALREADY KNEW THEN WHY ARE YOU AVERTING YOUR EYES?YOU! YOU’RE STILL ALIVE! AND YOUR CLAN IS DYING!! SO HOW, HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP SEALING YOURSELF IN THIS CAVE?! JUST WHAT ARE YOU DOING EXACTLY?!?!))

((What…))

“Is this what your female wanted?! Is this what your unborn egg wanted?! For you to wither away in this cave.. Do you want the dark dragon clan to die along with you?!!!!”

I was frustrated. 

I was sad. 

I couldn’t help but to feel sorry for this big and powerful dragon.

((I.. I failed to protect.. My egg…))

“Then this time you should properly protect them! Instead of withering away here, you should watch over the next generation and protect them without fail!”

“If you had failed to suppress your urge to destroy then this time.. You have to discipline yourself more! Make sure you will definitely protect them without fail this time!!”

“Yes. I will help you. I.. I will give you an egg.. That’s why… That’s why… “

I hiccuped, some of the tears got into my eyes.

It stung but I still needed to say it..

I felt someone took my hand while I rubbed my eyes.

Then someone proceeded to drop a kiss on my swollen eyes.

“You woke me up from my slumber. I will stay with you for the rest of my life.”

“Okay but I’m the Maou. I belong to all demonkind.”

“I understand but still.. You’ll be my mate.. The one who will give birth to my egg. I pledge my loyalty to your soul.”

And then, ever so gently, as if he was holding a fluttering dandelion seed, the handsome middle aged man hugged me. 

I hugged him back and pretended I didn’t see the slight glisten on his eyes.
