Chapter 69 - Did I Say That?

Xander was awakened by the sound of his mobile phone and the first thing he did was moved his arm to hold Yera, not bothering with the sound of his mobile phone was making. However, the bed was empty. 'She's up early?' he mused lazily.

His lips curved upward, an ear to ear grin plastered all over his face with his eyes still closed. Merely because Yera's words kept on replaying in his head.

He sluggishly opened his eyes and looked at his wall clock. "Oh it's late!" He grunted and quickly sat on the bed as he stretched his arms and attended his noisy mobile phone.

He woke up late because he was too exhausted from yesterday's meetings with various people and not to add the long flight he had to be home since his wife said she missed him. 

He could not help but giggle on his own. He was in a very good mood today that he would definitely gave a treat all his employees in the hospital for a good meal later. Why? Because his dear wife told him last night that she liked him very much! The word 'very much' added made him fell asleep at cloud nine last night.

"I like you very much," he murmured several times followed by his whistling as he went inside his shower room to have a quick bath. 

Xander looked at himself on his full size length mirror one last time before going out of his private room. Then he messaged assistant Ron to go inside his office once he was back since the latter messaged him that he would take a file real quick.

He was startled when Yera suddenly entered his office. She was smiling at him as she said, "Good morning… I bought breakfast… I'm sure you're hungry." 

Xander smiled back and his eyes were twinkling, more brighter than the stars. He saw Yera put the coffees on his table and picked the sandwiches out from the paper bag. 

She was already wearing her lab gown so she would probably work soon. "Come and sit here. Drink the coffee while it's hot." Yera said as she sat on his couch.

Xander's heart was melting on that simple gesture. The  thoughtfulness of his wife was too overwhelming for him that he could not help but pounced at her. 

He hugged Yera tightly as he whispered lovingly, "Thank you for being honest and telling me you like me… I'm so happy…"

He heard Yera coughed as if clearing her throat before she murmured, "Uhmm did I say that?" Xander pulled himself and held Yera's shoulders as he pouted his lips and complained, "Stop that!"

Yera was trying her best to control her laughter but she could not help it so she burst out in a fit of laughter because of Xander's expression. 

"What's funny? That's not funny at all…" Xander whispered with heavy shoulders and sullen look. He felt his world crumbled at the thought that he heard everything wrong last night.

"Sorry… It's just that It's fun to tease you." Yera said still laughing. She did not know what had gotten into her that teasing Xander crossed her mind. Maybe because she was in a good mood today.

She stopped laughing and looked at Xander closely as she cupped his bemused face. "I like you okay and you heard it all right. I clearly said it last night. I like you very much..." Yera vividly stated before she kissed Xander's lips. 

That morning, Yera woke up in Xander's arms wrapped around her. And she indulge herself in staring at his handsome face. He looked a bit weary but still smiling in his deep slumber that made him more attractive in her eyes.

At that moment, Yera made up her mind that she would no longer hesitate on things when it comes to Xander. She would do what she wanted to do and be more outgoing. Like now, she wanted to kiss Xander and so she did. 

Xander was at cloud nine once more. Yera was kissing him and it felt so good whenever she would be the one initiating a kiss like that. He was too engrossed in tasting her lips while he intensified it with his tongue.

But the intimate and invigorating kiss they were having was interrupted by the sudden opening of the door with assistant Ron's voice, "Boss! You need me?" 

Yera quickly pulled herself out from the kiss while Xander looked at assistant Ron and exclaimed, "No!"

Assistant Ron scratched his head and opened his mouth to say something but halted...

Yera noticed it, so she looked at assistant Ron and asked, "Yes Ron?" followed by an awkward smile. 

"Uhm I'm sorry I should probably tell it later." answered assistant Ron seeing Xander's glare at him.

"It's okay… What is it?" Yera encouraged as she handed the cup of coffee to Xander who by now smoothen his face.

"I will just say that your new clinic is now ready." Assistant Ron reported and immediately left as soon as his boss Xander gestured him to leave.

After having breakfast, Xander accompanied Yera to her fully furnished new clinic. Yera, on the other hand, felt excited, seeing her own space.

"You need an assistant. Ron already made the arrangements on posting the requirements for possible applicants so you can choose from them." Said Xander with a smile. 

Yera nodded as she looked around. "Thank you… I like it very much. Hmm, but how come I don't have a private room like yours?" She commented because she clearly told assistant Ron to give her a private room like Xander's private room inside her clinic where she could rest anytime she wanted.

Xander coughed to clear his throat. Assistant Ron mentioned that to him but he cancelled it because he would prefer Yera to stay and sleep at his private room if necessary. "Hmm, I still prefer you sleep over in my office instead. You'll be more secure at my floor. This clinic is too open for other people, including civilians." Xander explained.

"Besides, it will be hard for me to sneak in your clinic to sleep with you, unlike you sneaking in my office…" added Xander bluntly with a grin. He had a private elevator going to his office and people rarely walked or passed by there because only authorized personnel could use that elevator.

Yera no longer commented, thinking she would not use the clinic for a long time anyway since she would soon transfer at Life Globals group.
