Seventeenth Day Without Divorce (2)
Marriage was a big deal for her. She didn’t want to follow the steps of those two people. They separated so coldly in the end. Why did they even decide to marry in the first place?
At the very least, she didn’t want to be the one to initiate the divorce.
Now that Lu Lincheng planned to open the topic with her, she felt the same as when she was a child behind the closed iron gates.
Jiang Mu tried to move closer. “Is everything okay?”
“I’m fine.” Liang Yan lowered her head.
When she was still a child, she was afraid of being thrown away, but now that she was older, she was no longer afraid.
*****************
Two days later, in Nan Jing District Apartment. The place had been unoccupied for a long time, but it was spotless since the cleaning auntie came regularly.
Lu Lincheng sat on the sofa wearing gray, casual home clothes with slippers on his feet. The dazzling and reserved man in front of the camera took off his disguise, and the whole person right now was overflowing with a sexy laziness.
Opposite him, Liang Yan’s small face was painted with exquisite makeup, lips a kissable red, eyelashes brushed to perfection, and hair slightly curled. She wore a black, slim trench coat with a turtleneck sweater underneath, and her most expensive handbag was on her lap.
Liang Yan’s back was as straight as a small poplar, so poised as if she wasn’t at home. She glanced at the lazily dressed man, and the corners of her mouth shrunk.
She got up so early, at five o’clock in the morning to do her makeup in order to be abandoned today, but also to be abandoned with honor. The man sitting across from her didn’t seem to take this seriously. Dressed like this to talk about divorce, clearly he was disrespecting their marriage.
Lu Lincheng picked up the glass of water from the coffee table, taking a sip. He gazed at Liang Yan, not expecting her to dress up so grandly.
When Lu Lincheng came home, he found out that the cloakroom had too much space. It seemed emptier, and all of Liang Yan’s clothes had disappeared, so he asked, “Did you move out?”
“Hmm-mm.” Liang Yan nodded.
After hearing her answer, he nodded and then crossed his legs. His left and right hand faced each other as he stared at the floor. It seemed he was contemplating what to say.
Liang Yan thought that Lu Lincheng hadn’t figured out how to talk to her about the divorce, so instead of being dumped mercilessly, it would be better to give herself a way out. She took a deep breath and continued, “I’ve moved almost all my things.”
“Last time, it was my fault. I didn’t expect that the fans would discover me so soon and be on the hot search. I’m sorry. I really didn’t think of rubbing on your popularity. Even though I don’t know how I ended up marrying you, I still value my face.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t touch a penny of what isn’t mine. Forget the common property after marriage. Although I'm short on money, I have nothing to do with what you earned.”
“I’m aware that you don’t like me. I don’t care about any accounts. If you want to leave, I won’t entangle you. After that, as the fans say, we live in peace with each other and never get in touch again.”
Liang Yan finished with a flourish, eyes slightly red. She wanted to look nonchalant, so she no longer looked at Lu Lincheng. Eyes fixed at the front, her chin was slightly raised, revealing a slim white neck.
This is okay, she said to herself, this doesn’t count as being abandoned again.
Liang Yan tried to make herself calm even though she was shaking. After hearing Liang Yan’s words, Lu Lincheng was stunned. He didn’t imagine that Liang Yan would mention it so calmly.
He had prepared his speech for a long time, thinking that Liang Yan would become sad if she heard it, so the draft was euphemistic. He hadn’t expected her to say it so clearly, without a little breakdown or dissatisfaction, and even with a nice smile on her face.
Lu Lincheng’s eyes lowered, and he said, “Liang Yan, I’m sorry.”
Liang Yan inhaled deeply, forced herself to squeeze out another smile, and pulled out a signature pen from her bag. She snapped open the pen cap. “There’s nothing to be sorry about. I didn’t lose anything in our two years of marriage, as long as you don’t ask me to pay alimony, anything else will do.”
“Where are the divorce papers? I’ll sign it now.”
Half an hour later, users Lu Lincheng and Liang Yan posted at the same time.
No words, only a picture.
The Divorce agreement.
