The Twentieth Day of Separation (2)

At 7 p.m that evening, Liang Yan, who had stayed silent amidst the chaos and scolding, suddenly released a post on Weibo.

“When I was a child, you were very gentle that day. You even said you would come and see me later. I smiled and said goodbye to you. Then, I waited and waited, but you never came.”

An audio recording was released at the same time:

— “I gave birth to you. If you don’t pay me the eight million, who will?!”

— “I’m telling you, not only do you have to pay for your brother’s debts, but you also have to provide for me. Give me 200,000 living expenses a month to live on!”

— “Yes, I didn’t support you as you grew up, but aren’t you still alive and well? If I’d known you’re such a wolf, I might as well have sold you directly! Who would want to raise a money-losing daughter?!”

— “Stupid bitch! You didn’t get alimony from Lu Lincheng when you divorced. You let him sleep with you for nothing!”

— “God, you’re a daughter who doesn’t even care about the life and death of your mother and brother! You let your brother go to jail!

— I’m telling you, if you come to me next time, eight million dollars isn’t enough! You’ll have to give me eighty million.”

Immediately afterwards, the Weibo “Liang Yan’s National Support Association Official Blog,” released a series of posts with Liang Yan’s school certificate from the age of seven to seventeen from a full-care sports school. The accommodation was as follows, “Full-care” and the guardian column was, “Children without guardian.”

Next to it were several remittance slips: one for the four million Liang Yan paid to Chen Xueyun two years ago, and the rest were slips for the years of living expenses she paid to the sports school after she had gone to the university.

The people who had criticized Liang Yan suddenly quieted down.

Liang Yan listened to the recording she posted on her Weibo account.

Chen Xueyun was stupid and wasn’t aware that their whole conversation was recorded and monitored in the police station’s mediation room.

Chen Xueyun, on the other hand, cried to the camera without showing proof, and the people didn’t know if she spoke the truth or not. As for Liang Yan’s side, she presented recordings which hammered the truth.

The tide of public opinion overwhelmingly turned.

[Damn, she left her daughter when she was still young, and now that she had grown up, the mother came back to ask for money! What kind of person is this?! You should try to save face!]

[How can there be such a mother under the sky.]

[I thought Liang Yan came from a good family because of her looks.]

[Children without guardians, aren’t they just orphans?]

[I’m on the verge of tears.]

[I know this sports school, a lot of parents leave their children there and just ignore them.  That place is like half an orphanage.]

[Liang Yan has already given four million, and still not satisfied. Now eight million! Eighty million! This is extortion!]

[Am I the only one who noticed that Liang Yan didn’t ask for alimony from her divorce with Lu Lincheng? I actually thought that she would squeeze Lu Lincheng hard.]

[She also had to work during her university to pay her living expenses and tuition to the sports school for so many years. It’s not easy.]

[Liang Yan, don’t give them a dime!]

[I’m very distressed about Liang Yan.]

[Liang Yan, come on! Go!]

[Am I the only one who is curious about what type of sports Liang Yan played before? If you base it on her appearance, it must be rhythmic gymnastics or synchronized swimming?]

......

Liang Yan’s WeChat exploded with messages from friends, unfamiliar people, and even colleagues to comfort her.

“Langya Gathering Place” was full of people wailing, her fans were heartbroken. They didn’t realize that Liang Yan had suffered so much when she was a child.

Liang Yan announced in the group, “Everything’s okay. The food at the sports school was quite good.”

This kind of optimism aroused the fans' pity rather than acting pitiful.

“I love you, Yan Yan!”

“It seems I have to travel in time to hug you.”

In the midst of this, a fan suddenly asked, “Liang Yan, what kind of sport did you play before?”

“Liang Yan must have been a player in the track and field team. Her legs are long.”

“No, our Yanyan is very good looking and flexible. She must have practiced rhythmic gymnastics.”

“I believe it’s synchronized swimming.”

......

While reading the fan’s different speculations, Liang Yan thought about it. She scrolled on her phone, found a photo in the deepest part of her album, hesitated for a moment, but posted it anyway.

In the photo, an eight or nine-year-old little girl wore a faded t-shirt with shorts. Her short hair drooped, and her cheeks were like two clumps of red as she endeavoured to lift an old barbell that had lost its color.

The pose was a standard deadlift.

A fan commented on Weibo with this photo.

“Damn, no wonder Liang Yan could move bricks excellently! Hahahahaha…”
