Chapter 174
Ye Si and Qiao Ying went back to the camp to treat their wounds.
Ye Si looked around for a while but couldn't find anyone. He tried calling Qiao Ying and unexpectedly got through right away. Only then did he know that she was already back and her wounds were almost finished being treated.
When Ye Si heard that Qiao Ying was injured, he hurried over and pushed aside Qin Hanyue who was blocking the way in front of Qiao Ying.
"Oh? Young Master Qin." Qin Yan was so frightened that he quickly reached out to support Qin Hanyue.
"Where are you injured?" Ye Si held Qiao Ying's wrist with the bandaged arm anxiously and looked at her arm wrapped in gauze.
Qiao Ying: "It's just a minor injury." She glanced at Qin Hanyue who had been pushed aside.
What Qiao Ying called a minor injury was clearly not the same as what they considered a minor injury. And what she called a serious injury was basically crippling.
Ye Si said fiercely, "It's wrapped so tightly for just a minor injury? Where is that Black Spade A bastard? Is he dead or not? If not, I'm going to skin him alive."
Qiao Ying: "He's dead."
Ye Si: "Then I'll flog his corpse and feed it to the dogs."
Old Liu brought some people over, escorting the tightly bound Blade Shadow and two assassins. Another assassin was killed by Cheng Jinyan.
Qiao Ying looked towards Cheng Jinyan and asked, "How are your injuries?"
Cheng Jinyan lifted his clothes to show Qiao Ying as a doctor so she wouldn't worry. "Just external injuries, I'm fine."
The wounds were already bandaged.
Old Liu asked, "Sir, how should we deal with these people?"
Qin Hanyue looked at Qiao Ying, inquiring about her opinion.
Ye Si said, "Aren't there a few old guys left? Pry open their mouths. Let's settle this account all at once so they don't have time to prepare."
But Qiao Ying said, "You can't get anything out of their mouths."
These few were quite capable people from Dark Shadow, especially Blade Shadow.
It was basically impossible to interrogate them. Moreover, those old guys' whereabouts were erratic. They might not necessarily know.
There was no need to waste time.
Qiao Ying said, "Leaving them alive will only bring more trouble. Just kill them."
These people were extremely loyal to Dark Shadow. She didn't have the kindness to try to win them over. Absolutely no letting the tiger return to the mountain.
Might as well go all the way since none of them were good people anyway.
Ye Si said, "Killing them would be letting them off too easy after what they did to you back then..."
When he first learned that Blood Shadow assisted Dark Shadow with experiments to repay their grace, but Dark Shadow had ambitious wolf-like nature and unsatiable greed, Ye Si wished he could sever those old men's heads.
Cheng Jinyan coughed, "Uh..."
Ye Si stopped talking.
"No matter how they die, it's too easy on them." However, Qin Hanyue still noticed what he let slip, so he looked at Qiao Ying.
Blade Shadow stared at Qiao Ying with icy eyes. "Just who exactly are you? What's your relationship with Blood Shadow?" It was as if he wanted to see through this unfamiliar skin into her soul.
Qin Yan: Blood Shadow? Wow!
Old Liu and Xu Zheng were also shocked and looked at Qiao Ying.
Qin Hanyue: "I know."
Ye Si watched Qin Hanyue for a bit before following Qiao Ying upstairs, "Baby, your hands are injured. How are you going to shower? Let me help you..."
He seemed to deliberately say it for someone to hear.
Teng Yan looked at the noisy Maze Building in the distance, a trace of a smile on his face. "And another one died."
Would it continue? Who's next?
That night,
Qin Hanyue tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
Still a bit traumatic.
His mind was filled with when he found Qiao Ying, she was crouching by the pitch black creek quietly washing her wound. She looked so small.
And so weak.
But when he lifted her face, he didn't see any fear or panic on her student-like face. Just calmness. As if she wasn't washing a wound but just rinsing off dirt on herself.
As if fighting and getting injured was normal to her, long used to it.
When treating the wound, as a big sturdy man he still felt pain. Yet from start to finish, she didn't even frown once.
And what Ye Si blurted out.
Qiao Ying's grudge with Dark Shadow. What Dark Shadow did to her. Why did Blade Shadow ask that.
What was her relationship with Blood Shadow? Was she really Qiao Ying?
Qin Hanyue sat up in bed. The pain from his wound made falling asleep even harder. He couldn't help but think, she must be hurting too.
It wasn't as if she didn't have pain receptors. How could she not feel hurt? She could just endure it. Thinking so, Qin Hanyue felt distressed for her.
He took his phone, wanting to ask Qiao Ying if she needed painkillers. Then he remembered she could self-treat pain with acupuncture. So he put his phone away again.
A sleepless night.
The next day,
Qiao Ying opened her eyes and looked at her phone—there was a new message.
She got out of bed to open the door. Qin Hanyue was at the door holding a gigantic bowl of dove and ginseng soup, and carrying something else.
Qiao Ying let him in and closed the door.
When Qiao Ying closed the door, Qin Hanyue asked, "I didn't wake you, did I?"
Qiao Ying gave an indifferent murmur of assent before going to wash up herself.
Seeing her demeanor, Qin Hanyue figured she must have slept alright.
After washing up, Qiao Ying went back to the room and glanced at the dove ginseng soup. It would be too greasy this early in the morning.
Qin Hanyue said, "It's double steamed without any oil added."
Only then did Qiao Ying sit and drink.
Qin Hanyue asked, "Can you eat pig's liver? I asked the doctor and he said it replenishes blood. If you can eat it, I'll have it made for lunch."
Qiao Ying said, "It's not that serious an injury."
