Chapter 18

Zhi Yao honestly told Pei Chiyao about how she had rescued the white fox today.

After listening, Pei Chiyao's expression finally eased up a little.

"A mother fox?"

Zhi Yao was taken aback for a moment before realizing what he was asking - the gender of the fox.

She nodded, "It should be."

She hadn't noticed either, but she felt it was a small female fox.

Next, Zhi Yao keenly felt that Pei Chiyao's actions had become much gentler.

After bathing, the little fox's fur was even snowier white and softer.

Zhi Yao carefully sized up Pei Chiyao. Although he didn't show much expression on his face, she could still sense that compared to before, he was in a much better mood now.

She rubbed her head against Pei Chiyao's chin. Pei Chiyao picked out a skirt from the ones Pei Ning had brought and asked, "How about this one?"

Zhi Yao shook her head, "Pei Chiyao, when can I turn into a human?"

Her golden eyes were full of innocence and urgency.

She had experienced the joy of being human before and didn't want to be a little fox forever.

Among their kind, foxes were a symbol of cubs. She had grown up already and didn't want to remain a fox.

Zhi Yao had never forgotten her dream.

She wanted to become Su Daji!

Pei Chiyao laughed lightly, "You want to wear human clothes?"

Zhi Yao nodded eagerly like a chick pecking at rice grains.

"Why do you want to become human?" Pei Chiyao was intrigued. He lightly flicked up Zhi Yao's chin with his forefinger, forcing her to meet his gaze.

Her golden eyes were spotless, so clear that he could even see his reflection in them.

What a beautiful pair of eyes.

Pei Chiyao marveled to himself inwardly.

"I've been human before, Pei Chiyao. Being human means I can eat lots of delicious food, go anywhere I want, and even act in dramas!"

Speaking of acting, Zhi Yao's eyes shone even brighter, but in a flash, she seemed to remember something and became very troubled.

"It's just...I'm too stupid. I keep getting tricked."

Thinking of the fat woman who had deceived her, Zhi Yao felt a lingering fear.

If it wasn't for meeting Pei Chiyao, she dared not imagine what would have happened afterwards.

Come to think of it, Pei Chiyao was her lifesaver!

"Tricked?"

Pei Chiyao looked down at the little fox perched on his shoulder. She did seem silly and ignorant. If she left his side, wouldn't she just get swallowed up without even her bones remaining?

"Stay obediently by my side, no one will dare bully you, and even if there is, I'll back you up."

Zhi Yao nodded blankly, not understanding all his words but knowing that Pei Chiyao would not harm her.

Then she saw even more of such texts.

[CherryNoDumplings: Seeing as Brother Yao hasn't updated his blog in 800 years, I've decided to post some pictures I've been hoarding for 800 years for my sister fans to feast their eyes on. Pic.jpg]

Zhi Yao's golden eyes flew wide open.

What what what was she seeing?!

Pei Chiyao with his shirt half unbuttoned?!

She immediately raised her paw to cover her eyes. "Pei Chiyao, don't you know shame?!"

After the little fox finished speaking, she still didn't hear Pei Chiyao's reply for a long while.

She secretly uncovered her eyes again, only to realize the Pei Chiyao in the phone hadn't moved one bit.

She understood instantly. That just now was a photo.

Not the real Pei Chiyao.

She discovered many more of Pei Chiyao's photos among these words too.

How strange...

Who were they? Why did they have so many of Pei Chiyao's photos?

And they called him Brother? God Yao?

Could it be...Pei Chiyao had this many younger sisters?!

She grew more and more baffled.

Right as Zhi Yao was distracted, her fur accidentally brushed the [+] button above the microblog.

In her panic, she suddenly realized — the fox reappeared?!

"Rarrr!"

She fiercely roared at the phone screen. "Who are you?! Pei Chiyao is mine. Get out of there!"

She arched her back, baring her teeth menacingly at the phone. But the more Zhi Yao stared, the more she felt something was off.

This fox...looked so much like herself!

And...it also wouldn't move.

Suddenly...a bold notion took form in Zhi Yao's mind.

She raised her paw and batted the phone, knocking it to the floor.

Without a sound.

She jumped down swiftly, flipping the phone's screen over.

Squinting for a closer look — the fox was just the same fox, not shifting one tiny bit.

Could this...also be a photo?

In her contemplation, the door was suddenly pushed open from outside.

Zhi Yao was badly startled, inexplicably feeling a guilty conscience like she had committed some misdeed.

When Pei Chiyao entered, what he saw was Zhi Yao with a tense, fearful look on her face.

She sat smack on his cell phone.Finndd new updates at novelhall.com
