Chapter 54: Please Drink in Moderation

Cast introduction:

“… Hey, wake up… Didn’t you promise me that you will get engaged with me?!!’

A girl laid there peacefully with her eyes closed. Her hand was grabbed by someone who looked too well-built for a woman, but too pretty for a man. It was Julius Harley.

The whole room went quiet and everybody froze hearing her words. Then someone shut the door with a bang. A man and a woman stood at the door in bewilderment.

All the adults who know the girl, the one who was sleeping with a satisfying smile on her little face, hold their breath in astonishment when they heard Julius’ words. Then they all exclaimed in chorus, “What?!!”

Those men were the subordinate of the sleeping girl, Razé Orphan, in the military. They felt they had sobered up due to the shock. Perhaps this was what people said a bolt out of the blue. The man and woman at the door opened their mouth like they had something to say but were at a loss for words.

“…Mmm…my… angel…” Razé was sleep talking, unaware of the turmoil going on around her.

“Angel?! Don’t you dare! Razé! You can’t go there!!” Staying in character, Julius burst into tears as she screamed to the girl. But the spectators couldn’t care less about her acting. Once again, they exclaimed in chorus, “Getting engaged?!!”

The man and the woman who had just arrived, Sergio Habermas and Yor Carton Fedrick, started to tremble with fury.

Sergio: “Hell no! I won’t give my Razé to anyone!”

Yor: “You son of a b#$%h! How dare you seduced my Razé?! And Toymaker, Razé is not yours!!”

The night at the fully reserved restaurant was more rowdy than usual.

Ducard: “…Captain, the troublesome people have come.”

Bonalt: “Don’t say it, Harul. Let sleeping dogs lie.”

Bonalt stood by Razé and quietly watched as the 30-something man with silver hair and tanned skin, Toymaker, and the woman with black hair wearing a white coat, The Devil in Lab Coat, walked into the restaurant.

At the same time, Julius was being interrogated by the others.

“Major Julia, you’re kidding, right?”

“She must be lying.”

“I think she’s drunk.”

“Julius, your jokes are not funny.”

“Don’t you like man?”

Julius: “Wait a minute. Who the hell called me Julius just now?”

Today’s play was staged at Tsuki no Shizuku.

Razé Orphan was basking in happiness after witnessing her angel finally got together with the person she loved. She had gathered her subordinates after finishing their work and held a celebration party. Razé was well aware that she wasn’t good at drinking, but she got carried away due to her excitement and ended up getting drunk.

Victor: “I’m surprised that Leader’s not good at drinking.”

Ducard: “Victor, is that what’s important here?”

Ducard laughed at Victor’s comment as he watched the sleeping girl.

Ducard: “Leader has just become an adult this year.”

Victor: “I know. But didn’t she practice drinking? Besides, it’s Leader. I thought she would be good at everything.”

Bonalt: “Well, she did practiced drinking. But in her case, she just pretends to drink and throw it away. She’s not good at drinking alcohol.”

Victor was convinced with the explanation given by Bonalt. Although Razé’s specialty, movement magic, seemed like a mediocre skill, her endless variation of skill applications made her the most powerful person in the country. Victor thought that she might one day create a ‘time movement’ magic, like something from a fairy tale. To him, she was someone that was far out of his reach.

Bonalt: “But still, it is rare for her to get drunk like this. Maybe something special had happened.”

Bonalt took off his jacket, rolled it up and placed it under Razé’s head. Looking at her sleeping face, she seemed like an ordinary girl. She seemed to be dispirited for the past few days. But suddenly today, she yelled, “We’re going to celebrate today!” He was surprised by her change of mood but also felt relieved. Bonalt looked at her with tenderness as if she was his family.

Yor: “Julia. How dare you go after my Razé?”

Sergio: “…She’s not your Razé.”

Yor: “Huh?! Don’t be too cocky. You’re always fawning around her. You weirdo machine otaku.”

Sergio: “What did you say?!”

Although there were people quarrelling right next to him, Bonalt remained calm.

“Hehehe.” Julius was laughing carefreely while watching Yor bickering with Sergio. When they noticed they had been laughed at, they turned and stared at Julius but she was still smiling.

“It was Razé who asked me to get engaged.” Julius showed them a bracelet as a proof. “Razé gave this to me.” It sounded like there was a heart mark at the end of her word.

Razé was being serious about substituting for the broken engagement event. She had chosen Julius as her partner for this play.

Sergio: “It can’t be true…”

Yor: “I’d also proposed to her! Why must it be Julia?”

The geniuses of Shian had broken.

Victor: “Huh? Professor Yor is a male?”

Ducard: “…”

Bonalt: “…No, Victor.”

Both Ducard and Bonalt were a bit worried for Victor.

“Razé… Tell me it isn’t true!” Yor clung to Razé and cried profusely. It looked like an emotional climax scene as if the girl was dying. “Why can’t it be me? Is it because of my gender? Is it? Because I’m a woman?! …Then I’ll go and change it,” Yor said with a serious tone full of determination.

Ducard: “Is she drunk?”

Bonalt: “Nope. She hasn’t drank a drop of alcohol since she came in.”

Yor Carton Fedrick was sober.

Victor: “Go and change? Is there any drug that can change one’s gender?”

Ducard and Bonalt turned to look at him.

“How can you such a scary thing? Of course, there is…” Ducard suddenly stopped talking and turned to Bonalt. “Hey Cross. There’s no such thing, right?” Looking at Bonalt keeping silent, Ducard asked again. “Cross. Please tell me there is no such thing.”

Meanwhile, the Devil in Lab Coat stood up with a determined look on her face. “Wait for me Razé. I will be reborn and be the prince to help you.” Her lab coat fluttered as she turned around dashingly. At that moment.

“I heard you went to the restaurant after receiving an invitation from Razé-san. I was worried about you. But what is all this?”

“F- Frey…”

Frey Kanzach stood motionless with his hands on his waist. “Professor. Haven’t I told you before, always made calm judgement and exercise morality.” It seemed like he was shrouded by black aura.

“Haha..ha..” Yor gave a dry laugh as she was taken away by Frey and returned home.

Bonalt thought the situation would calm a little with her gone. Unfortunately, there were still a few more troublemakers left.

Sergio, who had been keeping quiet with his head down until now, slowly stood up. “Okay, then…” The motivated look in his eyes were giving others a bad feeling. He took something out of his pocket and stood in front of Julius. “Let me measure you.” There was a measure tape in his hand.

Julius: “What? Are you charmed by my body?”

Sergio: “Don’t say such a disgusting thing. Instead of letting you take Razé, I’d rather make a robot that looks like you for her.”

The whole place was quiet except for the sound of the measure tape being pulled.

“Major.” Bonalt put a hand on Julius’ shoulder. “I have so many questions for you. But for now, I think you should run.”

“…Yeah. I think I should too.” Julius immediately ran towards the door.

“You’re not going anywhere!” Sergio exclaimed as he took out a snake-like chain from his pocket and throw it towards Julius.

“I won’t let you!” Ducard created a blade made of water and strike the chain. His team members immediately divided into two groups, one to prevent damage to the restaurant and the other to stop Sergio.

“Get out of my way!” Sergio looked like an evil god controlling the snake-like chain.

“Do whatever it takes to protect our Leader’s future!”

“Yes, sir!”

The team members replied vigorously to Bonalt’s instruction.

“Angel…and goddess…” Razé was sound asleep while a fierce battle had begun right next to her. The night was still young.
