Chapter 93: Once-In-A-Century Genius

“Number 223, please step forward and enter examination room number one.”

Finally, it was Lin Luo’s turn to go in for the assessment, and coincidentally he had been assigned to room number one where the tall, dark-skinned man came out from earlier.

“Xiao Luo, go on, don’t be nervous.” Gu Yu cheered Lin Luo on, but wasn’t able to manage the unusually stiff expression on his little chubby face.

“You too.” Lin Luo smiled and patted his shoulder. He was afraid the little guy’s nervous stomach would cramp.

Lin Luo took a deep breath, walked to the door of room one, pushed open the door, and walked in.

After entering, he found that the room was divided into two parts with a table and three stools on the outside, and a specially isolated empty room on the inside. Two examiners who also wore silver-gray uniforms were sitting at the table, and they could clearly see everything in the room through the transparent wall.

One of the examiners was a middle-aged man in his fifties. He had a finely trimmed beard and a pair of gold glasses. His eyes were sharp, and he looked like a very strict person. The other examiner was an old man with a gray beard and hair, and a slight smile on his face who looked very kind.

Unlike the staff who were responsible for reception and guidance outside, the two examiners wore badges similar to thorns on their chests which indicated their identity as energy engineers.

However, the color of the badges on their chests were different, which meant that their energy engineer levels were different. On the chest of the middle-aged man was a silver badge which represented his status as a mid-rank energy engineer, while the old man’s badge was gold, which represented that he was a noble senior energy engineer.

“You are Lin Luo?” the middle-aged man asked first.

“Yes, hello sirs.” Lin Luo replied respectfully.

“Have you brought everything you should bring?”

“I’ve brought everything.” After successfully registering, Lin Luo received a confirmation reply from the Energy Administration which stated the precautions for the exam, such as the fact that the jade and vacuum liquid tubes that needed to be used in the assessment needed to be provided by the candidates themselves.

“You can begin directly. We will monitor the assessment process from out here. I hope you can show us your best.” The middle-aged man pressed the switch, and the transparent isolation door of the inner room was opened.

“Okay.” Lin Luo nodded and walked in.

The transparent separation door closed behind him, and the originally transparent separation wall suddenly became opaque. He couldn’t see the people outside, but the people outside could clearly see his actions.

If Lin Luo had raised his head, he would have clearly seen several miniature cameras floating in the air, which monitored in all directions without blind spots.

The floor was softer than expected, likely to allow candidates to sit directly on the ground. Lin Luo walked to the middle, faced the direction of the two examiners, and sat down cross-legged.

He took out a palm-sized piece of blue water jade from his space button.

“Blue water jade?” The middle-aged examiner frowned tightly, and sneered at the same time.

Blue water jade was a high-quality jade with a transparent and delicate texture that contained few impurities. For energy engineers, the elemental energy extracted from such jade would be more pure and be easier to extract than the energy extracted from inferior jade.

However, if one wanted to extract the vigorous elemental energy from a jade with such a stable structure, they would need to consume more mental power. If one wasn’t careful, they would fall short.

So did Lin Luo choose the blue water jade for opportunistic reasons?

The answer was of course no. Not only was he not trying to make a fool of himself, but he was also trying to cover up his edge. If the concentration of the final element liquid extracted was too high, at least this way he could have an excuse…

The water element was also the most stable of all natural elements. The element liquid extracted from blue water jade by energy engineers usually had a higher concentration than element liquid extracted from other jade.

Lin Luo closed his eyes and held the piece of blue water jade in both hands, slowly covering it with his mental power. A little bit of blue fluorescence instantly drilled out of the jade and danced with Lin Luo’s mental power.

“This, this… how is this possible…?” After seeing this scene, the middle-aged examiner showed a look of surprise.

The transparent partition wall not only acted as an isolator, but also had the function of allowing observers to see the elemental energy. With the help of light intensifiers, the weak photons activated by the elemental energy in the room were amplified and converted into colors on the visible light spectrum. As such, the situation in the room was left completely unobstructed before the eyes of the two examiners.

They had never seen any examinee who could activate the elemental energy in jade at such a fast speed.

The old man who kept smiling and had yet to say a word from start to finish finally sat up a bit, and his eyes gradually became more serious as he looked at Lin Luo.

“Take a look. Have you seen Lin Luo’s test results from the first stage of the assessment?”

“It’s coming through now.” The middle-aged examiner tapped a few times on his light brain, adjusted the results of Lin Luo’s first stage assessment, and then opened his eyes wide in surprise, “He, he’s a double S… “

Lin Luo continued to guide the lively elemental energies with his mental power, then slowly gathered them together and condensed them into a blue light cluster.

The middle-aged examiner took a another deep breath. He couldn’t help but think that this level of speed and efficiency was really too miraculous, right?!
