When Gu QiuYang finally walked out of the Energy Administration, the golden thorns badge he wore on his chest immediately attracted the attention of all the reporters who had been waiting at the door.

“Someone passed the assessment!” One of them shouted loudly. Following this, all of the reporters surged towards Gu QiuYang like a tide and surrounded him.

“Sir! What’s your name? How old are you this year? You look so young, you’re probably the youngest senior energy engineer in our Empire in nearly a hundred years!” A with a flattering smile on his face smoothly complimented his as he questioned.

However Gu QiuYang glared at the reporter angrily, secretly scolding the other party for touching upon a sore spot[1]…

If Lin Luo hadn’t showed up, he might have still been able to bask in this reporter’s praise for him. Now though how would he have the face to recognize such acclaim?

The reporter was glared at inexplicably and didn’t understand what was wrong with what he had just said.

However, out of concern for his own image, Gu QiuYang reluctantly resisted the depression and irritability bubbling up inside of him and squeezed out a smile in order to respond to other reporters’ questions. He simply didn’t respond to the first reporter’s compliments at all, which just made the reporters who had interviewed him sigh that although he was young, Gu QiuYang had a calm and humble temperament and so on.

In their opinion, Gu QiuYang’s performance just now was one of modesty and restraint, but they believed that he was actually very happy inside.

“Director Yan, Lin Luo’s ability has far surpassed the level of a senior energy engineer. We feel that just granting Lin Luo a senior energy engineer qualification is far from enough.” Several examiners looked at each other and said.

“We think… he should be awarded the title of top energy engineer.” The title of top energy engineer was the highest level of certification an Imperial energy engineer could reach. There had only been a total of five top energy engineers recorded in the entire history of the Empire, with Lin Luo being the sixth.

This, this is something that I’m unable to do myself… I’ll need to contact headquarters.” Yan Xing was fully aware that Lin Luo completely met the criteria to become a top energy engineer, but top energy engineers were too rare. However, top energy engineers were too rare to the point that there hadn’t been a single case of the title being granted in the past 100 years. Yan Xing walked out of the room and used his light brain to get in touch with headquarters.

Lin Luo was actually quite surprised. He didn’t expect that there was a level above senior energy engineer, nor did he expect that he would be qualified to receive it. Ten minutes later, Yan Xing came back with a happy expression on his face. “Mr. Lin, I am very honored to tell you that you have passed this assessment very satisfactorily. On behalf of the Energy Administration Headquarters, I hereby award you the title and certification for top energy engineer. That said, the Energy Administration hasn’t issued a badge for a top energy engineer in a long time, so our branch doesn’t have one prepared here. I’ve taken the liberty to notify proper channels to have one made immediately, but due to the complexity of the process I’m afraid you’ll need to wait a little longer.”
