Shin met Li Shen’s gaze as he slowly stood up, his slightly pale face gained a red color showing the raging anger in his heart.
Everyone in the hall was taken aback by Shin's words. They were so confused by them they thought they misheard him. Even his fellow disciples who were concerned for his well-being a moment ago were looking at him with skeptical expressions.
“Uh, Senior brother Shin, what Soul Attack might you be referring to? Is it the one that happened several hours ago?”
Shin turned around to see that disciple’s quizzical expression and barked at him.
“What other Soul Attack could I be talking about other than that one!”
Shin’s eyes then twitched, and he seemed as if he was trying to signal something to that youth
However, that male disciple only flinched back a bit, and with the weird look still on his face said in a soft voice.
“But brother Shin, how could that be? That had occurred long ago.”
Hearing that, Shin thought.
‘This fool! Fine, I guess I’ll have to go at this alone.’
Everyone in the hall heard his confirmation that it was indeed that Soul Attack, but their expression quickly became even more dumbfounded.
“Is that even possible? He was completely fine a moment ago, did his shamelessness cause the Soul Attack to time travel and come back to attack him now?”
Someone in the crowd asked in disbelief.
“Maybe his shamelessness delayed it for him and he’s just now feeling the effects of it?”
Another person from the crowd followed along with the first person’s logic and soon a few others gave ridiculous and completely bizarre reasons, as if they were trying to outdo each other on how much they can point out the bullshit in Shin’s story.
Shin heard their mumbles and he glared at the crowd before saying.
“You think I’m lying?! I held back my injuries till now so I could keep the peace between our two Continents!”
Shin then clenched his fists with his lowered head and righteously said.
“I didn’t want to cause any trouble, but that useless Second Prince has gone too far!”
Shin waved his hand towards Li Shen as he yelled that.
Like an A-star actor on the big screen, Shin put on a brilliant performance. From his big but not too exaggerated gestures, to his meticulously chosen and compelling expressions that showed his genuine willingness to forsake his well-being for peace. All of it was so convincing it almost compel the masses into thinking that his story was actually true.
However, they heard his next words, and they immediately back-peddle on their decision to believe him.
“This fiend doesn’t deserve my Yue’er after what he did to me! Yue’er!”
Shin looked towards Lu Yue, his expression was one of pure tenderness as if he was looking at a delicate flower that could be blown away by the slightest breeze.
“Look how that bastard injured me, you don’t love someone who would hurt your brother would you?”
Stepping forward, Shin then stuttered out.
“Yue’er, don’t marry him because… I-I...I love you! I’m the one you should marry!”
Weird looks instantly came over everyone’s faces upon hearing his declaration.
Lu Xue Feng who was massaging his temples couldn’t help but stiffen upon hearing his little brother words.
With a blank expression, he began walking over to him.
Li Shen who was completely stumped as to what was going on, turned to Lu Yue to see she wasn’t even looking at him.
Turning back to look down at Shin, Li Shen said.
“I know you two aren’t family by blood, but that’s just wrong. It’s still considered incest any which way you look at it.”
Shin shot a disgusted glare towards Li Shen upon hearing that before saying.
“Ugh! Bleh! You useless prince, don’t you dare describe my love towards my Yue’er as such a disgusting thing!”
Shin’s expression then turned serious as he said.
“My love for my sister is pure and untainted.”
Li Shen looked at this crazy person and he couldn’t believe he said that with a straight face.
Yang Su and the rest were wearing stupefied looks all this while, not knowing how to react to this strange person.
“Yue’er, you don’t have to marry this bum. If you leave my side to marry him I’d rather confess my hidden feelings for you and make father marry us together. Oh my Yue’er, can’t you see I’m doing all of this for you? I don’t want you to suffer being forced to marry this idiot…”
Li Shen frown at being insulted constantly.
“So what if they call me a sister lover? My love is genuine and I-ouch! owie owie, ahh, that hurts brother, let go, let go, owie.”
Shin began whining as he was dragged back to the Profound Sword Sect group by a blank-faced Lu Feng by the ear.
The people in the crowd were silent but they were rather enjoying this love drama that unfolded all of a sudden. The youths from the Maple Continent that were given scornful looks finally got relief by throwing insults at Lu Shin for wanting to commit such an immorally wrong act.
The disciples of Profound Sword Sect began feeling embarrassed because of their senior brother’s actions.
However, the male disciples had regretful expressions on their faces as they finally realized what Li Shin was trying to do.
‘Oh senior brother Shin, we did know!’
They all cried out in their hearts.
The disciples from the other sects, including the Heavenly Pillar Sect, the High Mountain Sect, the Solitary River Sect, the Seven Poisons Sect, the Shifting Cloud Sect, and the Silver Moon Sect all backed away from the Profound Sword Sect disciples, not wanting to associate with them.
However, a youth in the crowd stared at Shin with a confused expression.
He heard him say people called him a sister lover and that caused him to faintly recall something. After a while, his face lit up as he remembered where he heard that name being used, but soon his expression turned to shock and he looked at Shin again with a pale face.
“Hey wait! That-that person, he’s the genius with a sister complex from the Profound Sword Sect, Lu Shin!”
Everyone who heard his words frowned as they didn’t get why that was so important he had to yell it out.
However, another youth in the crowd recognized that moniker and he yelled out as well.
“Oh, that’s right it is him! He’s the one who shocked the entire Star Bound Continent by going around beating all of the top Foundation Realm geniuses from every sect and clan despite only being at the 1st Stage of the Foundation Realm!!”
"Oh shit, that's right, I heard of this too!! Everyone try to remember, this made waves across our Academies when it first reached us about a year ago. I can't believe that's him!"
The crowd were stunned by that and they had to do a double take.
This idiot is THAT Lu Shin?
The youths that were jeering at him became stumped and their view of him being a dumb-ass with a sister complex completely shifted, their face turning solemn. Some even have battle intent shining in their eyes.
The uproar Lu Shin caused back then wasn't only that he had beaten every top genius in the Foundation Realm, but that he did it by drawing his sword no more than three times!! As a 1st stage Foundation Realm cultivator, how shocking was that?
The news had numerous geniuses become eager to meet this monstrous sword genius. They all wanted to see if his abilities were that spectacular.
Shin, who was massaging his ears, saw the Maple Continents youths battle intent-filled eyes but he only snorted arrogantly.
Li Shen heard this as well and he too had to look more closely at Lu Shin.
‘He’s the one brother had told me about back then?’
A commotion suddenly swiped across the crowd as everyone finally realize Lu Shin wasn’t so simple.
The disciples from the Profound Sword Sect could raise their heads a bit higher upon hearing their chattering.
But this was always occurring to the point where everyone in the sect was conflicted.
Lu Shin was a genius among geniuses in the sect, and even news about him being more talented than his brother, who was the Legacy Disciple, started to spread. However, as much pride and prestige he brought to the sect it was as much as the shame and disgrace he brought if one heard of the stories involving him and his infamous endeavors.
Lu Yue was considered the most beautiful girl on the Continent. It was a huge title but no one who saw her could disagree.
Because of that everyone in the sect treated her like a flower that should be protected from unwanted strangers.
Dashing young male bachelors who were handsome and filled with confidence trying to propose to her?
Beaten to a pulp before they could even get past the steps leading into the Sect.
All the disciples in the sect, mostly the males, came to the consensus that if any outsider ever dares try approaching or even look at her, they would be crucified for that blasphemous act.
The leader of this group, no, this mob, this ruthless gang, was none other than Lu Shin. He was an advocate for the “Protect Yue’er From Horny Bastards Alliance.”
Albeit the males in the group and his own intentions were completely different.
The males in the sect did it out of share jealousy, but he did it out of love for his sister. But from the stories, he was the most passionate one of the bunch.
The act of him beating every top Foundation Realm genius of the various sects and clans was shocking, but no one actually knew the reason behind the brilliant display of his talents.
He had only done it because he was supposedly, "Cleansing the continent of horny bastards."
The name Lu Shin could be used synonymously with the words heavenly genius, and a sister complex fool.
But that was just the charm of Lu Yue's beauty.
When the news of her and Li Shen’s engagement was announced, not only did the Elders from the Maple Continent take out jade slips, but the male disciples from the Profound Sword Sect had as well.
The uproar that occurred in the Profound Sword Sect when the news reached them was simply ridiculous.
Disciples with bloodshot eyes, white knuckles, and a few burning a simple drawing of Li Shen could be seen around the Sect.
It was complete chaos that the Elders of the Sect had a hard time calming down. Disciples were leaving in droves heading for the Maple Continent, a majority had been caught and were placed under house arrest but a few managed to escape.
An oblivious Li Shen who was unaware of the mentality of the male disciples of the Profound Sword Sect didn’t know of the disaster that is to come.
After everything was over with Lu Feng apologizing for his brother's behavior, some form of normalcy had been regained and now it was time for the various powers to present their gifts to Li Shen.
Yang Su and the rest of the group stepped to the side allowing the line that formed to present their gifts to Li Shen.
However, as the first came up to the front to present the gift, the youth glared at Li Shen before rudely throwing an item down.
“The Seven Moons Academy offers a gift to the Second Prince.”
The youth didn’t even wait for it to fall before turning on his heels and heading back to the crowd.
Li Shen’s expression turned strange as he realize what was about to come.
‘Why be so spiteful? Are they really planning on making a show of this?’
Li Shen asked as he looked up from the barely recognizable medicinal herb at his feet to see an Elder from an Academy hand something to one of his disciples, who then came strutting towards him with malice look on his face.
