Seeing Shi Lei’s expression Mu Fan frowned and grabbed his saber.
“What? You think the match was over, this is where it really begins!”
Shi Lei sighed in his heart upon seeing Mu Fan’s fighting spirit.
‘I don’t think even Wu Kai is as battle-hungry as this person. I really underestimated him, Captain really didn’t make a mistake.’
Shaking his head, Shi Lei said to Mu Fan.
“Brother Mu Fan, you’re injured. Plus, our strength was equal before but now that I’ve reached the Perfection Stage you might not be my match.”
As Shi Lei said that, he swung his saber to his right.
The space where his saber passed trembled and the void itself seemed to be on the verge of collapsing.
Mu Fan instead of feeling threatened by this, had his eyes light up in excitement.
Then letting out a laugh, Mu Fan grabbed his saber hilt.
Shi Lei released a sigh once more.
If Mu Fan insists then he’ll just continue for while, but he’ll try his best not to injure him further.
Those were Shi Lei’s thoughts, but all of sudden a cold chill suddenly went down his spine.
A familiar feeling came to Shi Lei and he couldn’t help but look over to where Yang Su was.
‘Not again, but I apologized for before.’
However, as Shi Lei looked over at Yang Su, he realize the feeling wasn’t coming from him.
Shi Lei then turned and after tracing the feeling, it led to eyes landing on Mu Fan in front of him.
A small portion of Mu Fan’s saber was pulled out of its sheath, not even four inches could be seen but the energy that was produced caused Shi Lei’s mind to buzz and his scalp to go numb.
“T-That’s…!!”
Shi Lei’s eyes widened into saucers as he immediately recognized what that blade energy was.
“Get ready, after reaching a higher comprehension of your Blade Technique you probably would die from this... probably.”
Mu Fan’s words enter Shi Lei’s ears and his legs trembled.
“W-Wait, you can’t possibly be thinking of using that here!!”
Mu Fan's hands pulled out his saber to about eight inches and a terrifying Saber Aura assaulted everyone’s senses. All of a sudden the audience felt as if there was a blade against their necks.
“That is-!?”
“Blade Will! Isn’t this Blade Will that one masters after Blade Intent? To think such a young kid could master Blade Will.”
“B-But with this amount of energy being released from him barely pulling his saber out, if he really pulls out that saber fully, isn’t he going to destroy this entire battle arena?!!”
“RUN!!”
An audience member suddenly yell and like a chain reaction, everyone in the audience bolted for the exit.
This was a very familiar scene. And in his own way, Mu Fan was of a similar threat as Wu Kai. Both were complete lunatics prone to destruction.
However, just before Mu Fan’s blade could be pulled any further, Jun’s already tensed figure moved.
“Mu Fan, stop!!”
Using his extreme speed, Jun appeared on the stage in front of Mu Fan. He then held Mu Fans’ wrist and slammed his saber back into its sheath. While doing so Jun made sure not to touch the saber directly.
“Bastard Jun, what are you stopping me for?”
Jun’s face twitched.
If Mu Fan really released his Blade Will it won’t be on the level of a spar anymore but a life-and-death battle.
“You lost, let’s go have brother Yin heal your injuries.”
Jun then began to pull Mu Fan by the wrist towards the edge of the stage.
“Huh? Who lost? I haven’t even started yet! Bastard, let go of me! I said let go!”
Mu Fan tried to pull his hand from Jun’s grip but as hard as he tried it didn’t even budge.
The sight of Jun’s shorter and less muscular stature pulling a resisting Mu Fan who was almost twice his size was a strange sight.
But in terms of physical strength, Jun was still stronger than Mu Fan to Mu Fan's utter discontent.
As Jun pulled Mu Fan off the stage, he forcefully made him sit so Fei Yin could heal his injuries.
Meanwhile, Shi Lei who was drenched in cold sweat thought to himself.
'I still underestimated him. It wasn't because of his battle instincts that Captain tried to recruit him. He was holding back a lot of his strength in our battle.'
Shi Lei gulped down a lump of saliva before he turned to get off the stage. In his heart, it didn't feel like he won this match.
Seeing that nothing was going to happen, the panicking crowd paused, and then quickly made their way back to their seats.
“It’s that white-haired youth again. That’s the third time he’s prevented a disaster from happening. He must be the caretaker for their group, though he seems to be the youngest.”
Jun hearing phrases like this sighed.
That wasn’t really the case. Fei Yin was like the older sibling and could be said to be the caretaker as he would always intervene to stop conflicts. Lihua was also like the mother figure of the group who loved to reprimand them. While Fang Chen was like the silent middle child that mostly went unnoticed until he talked, and Mu Fan was like the sibling who always start fights, especially with Yang Su who was like the sibling that was perpetually in his dark teen phase.
As for Jun, he was the helpful little brother that always worry about everyone. And because of that when he spoke his mind or stop the others from doing something, they didn’t have the heart to not take his words into consideration as he wanted the best for everyone.
While the audience returned to their seats, Fang Chen unfurled his folded arms as he said.
“I guess it’s my turn, but I don’t think I’ll be winning this one. At the very least I can fight for a draw with him.”
Everyone hearing Fang Chen turned to look at him, before looking at the stage where Teng Ye was.
“Is he really that strong?”
Tai asked.
Jun nodded his head and answered.
“I sense a similar aura from him like my own and brother Chen’s.”
“You mean he has a Divine Beast Legacy as well? Ah no, that’s not right he’s a Sea Beast, do you mean he has the bloodline of Divine Beast?”
Tai was confused, if that was the case he should be able to sense it as he did with that youth he met back at the Li Clan. Even now he was faintly sensing that Xiao was here somewhere in the audience, but he sensed nothing from Teng Ye.
Fang Chen shook his head.
“It’s not that he has Divine Beast Bloodline, it’s that he has a bloodline that is probably no weaker than one. No, it might even be a bit stronger.”
“A Divine Beast Bloodline that isn’t really a Divine Beast bloodline, that's stronger as well?”
Lihua was confused.
“What’s stronger than a Divine Beast Bloodline?”
Li Wen asked.
Tai hearing that hesitated, but eventually responded.
“A God Beast bloodline.”
“A God Beast bloodline? There is such a beast?”
Li Wen asked a bit skeptical, but Fang Chen’s eyes flickered with a bit of realization and his eyes swept across Tai.
‘Is that why I can’t sense his and little sister Xue’s aura?’
“Why not?”
Tai shrugged.
“But he probably doesn’t have a full God Beast bloodline, but merely a Demi-God Beast bloodline. Jun and Fang Chen as well, your legacies could be said to be from Demi-God level existences.”
'Little Snow and I had only recently discovered what we are due to the Illusory Void fruits stimulating our inheritance memories as well as increasing our comprehension. We speculate that our bloodlines aren’t from this Era at all, but one from the distant past. We even cultivate differently from Spirit Beasts and Divine Beasts of this time. Divine Beasts and Spiritual Beasts must be existences that were birth from cultivating Spirit Energy unlike us.
‘But Xiao is proof that there are remnants of God Beasts, but like what is happening with me and Little Snow, the Chaos Dragon bloodline had completely faded away. Only leaving a trace that I and Little Sow could barely sense.’
Reaching here in his thoughts, Tai had to conclude that he probably couldn’t sense any God Beast bloodline from Teng Ye like Xiao because his bloodline didn't originate from any God Beast but was purely a Divine Beast bloodline born in a recent Era. And apparently one so strong it could be considered a supreme existence among Divine Beasts, hence why Tai gave the bloodline the title Demi-God.
Sigh
Tai rubbed his head as he felt a headache coming on after busting his brain to put pull all of this together. He still didn’t understand some things and he wish Li Shen was here so he could ask him.
Tai had a feeling his Master might know how to answer his questions.
At this time, Fang Chen leaped onto the stage to face Teng Ye.
Borderners in the audience were going wild as Shi Lei winning meant they just tied with the Mainlanders. However, the Mainlanders were no different as they madly cheered on Fang Chen.
