The void trembled from Yang Su’s spell.
Ji Mei had a heavy pressure crash onto her shoulders, but she remain relatively calm with the same cold emotionless expression on her face.
She glance up at the foot that was hurtling down towards her. Her gaze swept across it and something strange and shocking happened.
The foot made of terrifying wind blades froze mid-way in its descent before combusting. This caused a shockwave of wind to occur that even each reach the audience who had to shield their face slightly.
As the wind died down, everyone looked at the stage. There Ji Mei was looking at Yang Su as she said.
“If you’re Spell Caster you aren’t worthy to be my opponent, no Daoist Magic spell of Divine Ability will be able to reach me.”
“WOAAHH!!!”
The Borderners went wild in the audience.
“GODDESS JI MEI!! GODDESS JI MEI!! GODDESS JI MEI!! GODDESS JI MEI!!!”
The battle arena quivered and the shouts of the Borderners in the audience were so loud it could very well be heard from several tens of kilometers away.
Jun looked around the battle arena in shock.
“These people are insane, they're way too obsessed.”
“But didn’t you see how elder brother’s spell combusted with a mere looked from Ji Mei? What was that?”
In response to Fei Yin’s question, Lihua who wore a solemn expression on her face said.
“I can’t believe it's true. I thought it was nonsense when I read the reports but she really does have that ability.”
“What do you mean? What ability does she have?”
Tai asked.
In the audience, a Mainlander looked around at all the fanatic Borderners going crazy and said.
“Hey, can someone tell me what the heck just happened? Why did senior brother Faceless Demon’s spell combust?”
A Borderner near him heard his question through the nosy arena, and he replied with a smirk.
“This is Goddess Ji Mei’s terrifying ability, something that makes her practically invincible against any Spell Casters. Her eyes have the ability to destroy any and all Daoist Magic spells or Divine abilities. And not just from Spell Casters, but even Sea Beasts' innate abilities aren’t an exception.”
“Something like this…how can there be such an ability?”
“No one knows the origins of this ability, whether it was something Ji Mei had gained, or if it was just something she was born with. Even the name of the ability is a complete mystery, we can only make up a name for it after seeing her using it a few times on her solo missions. It’s called Eyes of Dissemination.”
“Eyes of Dissemination…”
The Mainlander mumbled under his breath as he still couldn’t believe it, but he had to, he just saw it for himself.
“That’s right. We called it that because every Sea Beasts' innate ability thrown at her would essentially disperse under her gaze. But we harder ever saw her use this ability. Goddess Ji Mei only goes on solo missions, and even if there is a Sea Beast hoard attacking the border she would prioritize defeating the leaders of the hoard, so no one could get close to her. For some of us, it’s our first time seeing her use that ability in a person.”
The Mainlander hearing that, could finally understand why these people were going so crazy to see Ji Mei fight. But a thought suddenly struck him and he quickly yelled.
“Wait!”
The Borderner jumped at his sudden.
“Bastard, what with you yelling all of sudden.”
However, the Mainlander didn’t seem to hear him and only continued in hurry.
“If you guys haven’t seen her use her Eyes of Dissemination that much, then couldn’t there have been a time when she fail to stop a Daoist Magic spell or Divine Ability?”
“That’s…”
The Borderner paused, that was a really good question.
“No way, she's invincible against Spell Casters, if that Faceless Demon is purely a Spell Caster he better give up he isn’t worthy to battle our Goddess Ji Mei.”
Another Borderner said from the side.
The Mainlander’s face harden.
“You say that but you truly do not know if that’s the case, if her Eyes of Dissemination is truly unbeatable. If that’s the situation then our Faceless Demon might have a chance!”
Below the stage, Mu Fan said.
“Ha! It looks like that bastard might have truly met his match.”
On the stage, Yang Su frowned behind his veil hat. This ability was troublesome for him, but suspicion began to rise in his heart that caused his eyes to narrow in thought.
Without saying a word, Yang Su pushed his palm forward. With that motion, an eight-meter wind palm projection was sent slamming towards Ji Mei.
Despite the fierce wind battering against her face, and fluttering her robes uncontrollably, Ji Mei still remain expressionless and simply swept her gaze across the palm.
Just like before, the palm combusted into a bust of wind shockwave before dissipating.
Ji Mei looked at Yang Su and said.
“It seems you're the type to run head-first into a brick wall despite the warnings. Fine, I’ll show you how useless your spells are.”
Ji Mei place her hand on her sword hilt before she took a step forwards. Her speed was quick causing her figure to leave after images as she appeared in front of Yang Su slashing down with her already drawn sword.
Yang Su didn't hesitate to retreat to put distance between them. At the same time, he waved his hand, and quickly, the Water Qi in the surroundings coalesced in a four-meter giant that was holding a mighty ax, which it raised above its head and chop down toward Ji Mei.
But mid-swing its body suddenly combusted and dispersed, and Ji Mei’s sword was free to approach Yang Su.
DANG!
The sound of metal colliding against metal echoed as Yang Su created a large hand from metal Qi that caught Ji Mei’s sword.
Yang Su then switch to offensive and he took a step forwards to slam his palm into Ji Mei’s chest. However, his hair immediately stood on end as his metal hand combusted, allowing the sword of an indifferent Ji Mei to continue its trajectory towards him.
Yang Su was thus forced to withdraw his attack and retreat once more.
However, Ji Mei didn’t allow him to reach far as her sword instantaneously sped up, disappearing from a few people's sights in the audience as it went to stab Yang Su’s shoulder.
DANG!
Ji Mei’s sword tip made contact with Yang Su’s left shoulder, but only the sound of it hitting metal was heard.
Yang Su’s robes in that area were instantly shredded. This caused every one to see what Ji Mei’s sword had hit.
A small layer of Metal Qi was covering Yang Su’s skin where Ji Mei’s sword made contact. But what was strange was that it was the only area where the Metal Qi was covering his skin.
It was as if Yang Su had read Ji Mei’s sword trajectory despite its speed and only defended himself in that area.
The Borderners seeing this had their expressions change slightly.
“This Mainlander, he isn’t so simple.”
There was no need for Yang Su to take such a risk, as even a slight miscalculation would have led to a hole in his chest.
But this shows how much confidence Yang Su had in himself and his Qi manipulation.
However, the Borderners realized something else about Yang Su in this match.
The speed of Yang Su’s spell-casting was absurd.
“How can he cast spells so fast without weaving any hand signs? And there’s not even an indication of when he’s going to casting a spell. How terrifying.”
A Borderner couldn’t help but comment.
Off to the side, another Border suddenly frowned and went into thought. Soon, his facial expression change, and his eyes widen in dumbfound. Without thinking he blurted out for everyone to hear.
“No, wait!! Haven’t you also realized something else that’s even more absurd in this match?”
Upon hearing his shouts, everyone turned to him.
“Huh? Wha are you talking about?”
Someone asked confused.
The Borderner with the same look of shock went to say something, but his eyes that were fixated on the stage trembled uncontrollably when he saw what just happen.
After Ji Mei had made a follow-up attack, Yang Su had retreated with a stomp on the ground that conjure a two-person thick earth pillar to block Ji Mei’s advance.
The Borderner stood up and pointed at the stage with a trembling finger and asked.
“H-How in the world can he use so many spells?”
“What? That’s what shocked you?”
Everyone was wondering what got this person so shaken that a cultivator at his level would lose his cool in a setting like this.
“Yeah, so what if he learned a lot of spells? They're all useless in front of Goddess Ji Mei anyway.”
“That’s right, his speed in casting spells is extremely fast and could even be called inhuman, but as long as he’s facing Goddess Ji Mei he’s just another weakling.”
Sentence like this entered the shocked Borderner's ears, and he hurriedly went to say.
“No, that’s not it. I’m talking about-”
“Man, just shut up already. Whose side are you on? Don’t give those Mainlanders hope. With our win in this match, we’ll be considered the winners.”
“That’s right, whose side are you on? You should be cheering for Goddess Ji Mei!”
“No! Just let me speak, that person is-”
“Just sit down, you're being a disgrace to us Borderners!”
One Borderner with a higher cultivation base than this person who was at the Mid Core Formation Realm grabbed his robes and pulled him back hard to sit in his seat.
This Borderner gritted his teeth.
“You guys, just let me fin-”
“You’re still talking? Just shut up and watch the match to see how many more moves until our Goddess Ji Mei wins!”
The Borderner who wasn't being heard looked at the stage to see the rubbles of the pillar that Ji Mei sliced apart were being shot toward Yang Su like bullets.
In response, Yang Su waved his hand and a cold chill swept out freezing the rocks.
The eyebrow and the Borderner immediately twitch and his heart began to palpitate. He once again stood up and blurted out.
“See!! He’s-”
However, he didn’t get to finish as he was slapped in the back of the head before being dragged back down into his seat.
Unable to take it anymore, this Borderner completely snapped.
Turning to the Mid Core Formation Realm cultivator who’s been preventing him from speaking, all the cautiousness one would have of offending someone of a higher cultivation realm was thrown out the window. He raised his fist and socked that cultivator square in the nose.
BANG!
CrAcK!
That cultivator was caught off guard and was sent flying back, stumbling over the other spectators in the audience.
“Bastard! You dare?!!”
The cultivator who was punched held his bleeding nose as he roared in anger, but the Borderner who punched him roared back.
“Bastard, it’s because you won’t let me finish! That Mainlander on the stage...!!”
He said as he pointed at the stage.
“How many spells have he used so far?!!”
“Again with that question? Who cares how many spells he used!!”
“NO!! I’m not talking about the number of spells he used!! I’m talking about the number of the different types of elemental spells he used!!!”
The Borderner almost lost his voice from roaring that out with all his might.
But immediately as he did, he felt the heavy feeling in his chest from keeping this in instantly lifted.
“W-What? How many elemental spells he sued?”
The Mid Core Formation Realm cultivator who was marching back to beat him to death paused as he asked that.
“That’s right! How many elemental spells did he use since the match started? First, it was his spell that created a large foot made of wind above the stage. The second was the water giant he summon. Third, it was the Metal Qi arm he used to block Goddess Ji Mei’s sword, and fourth and fifth was when he created an earth pillar to block Goddess Ji Mei, before using an ice spell to freeze the shattered rocks thrown at him.”
The Borderner was using his fingers to count so he could emphasize how many spells Yang Su cast with the different elements. When he was done he held up five fingers and said with a solemn expression.
“Five elements! This Mainlander used five of the six elements in this match, do you understand why I’m in so much shock now?”
The Mid Core Formation Realm cultivator was first silent as he listened to the elements being listed, but by the time the count got to three his annoyed expression had already morphed into a dumbfounded look.
When he heard that the number of elemental spells Yang Su used was five, his heart quivered.
“T-That’s impossible.”
“You can’t deny it, the evidence is right there! This brat, he’s cultivating five elements at once!”
With those final words, it was like a boom shell had gone off in this part of the audience. A massive uproar even that even drowned out the others who were chanting for Goddess Ji Mei echoed out in the battle arena.
