"What?! Why?!"
Lu Shin looked at Lu Yue and asked in dumbfoundment.
"You both barely had any interaction when we went to the Maple Continent. I get it if you feel sorry for using him and that guilt turned into pity love, but to want to marry that guy regardless, I don't understand."
Lu Shin scratched his head annoyed at this revelation. He never knew Lu Yue had fallen this deeply for that guy, to say he was discontent with this would be an understatement.
"Our interaction was short, but it was meaningful for me. He's the only one I've met who could hold my hand without dying. And… when I was at my lowest point, he was there to hold my hand. It wasn't my guilt that turn to love, it was my gratefulness."
Lu Shin looked at Lu Yue and actually saw a slight smile at the corner of her lips.
He felt defeated.
Never once had he made her smile like that. The only time she had ever smiled was when she talking about that bastard, or when she was alone, probably reminiscing about him.
'Damn it, no! She definitely doesn't love that guy, she probably got a good impression of him and after not seeing him for years she somehow convince herself she's in love with him! No, wait, isn't that how people slowly fall in love?'
Lu Shin's face suddenly became blank. Though he quickly snapped out of it and said.
"Lu Yue, does it really have to be that guy? Isn't he dead? Why take the risk to come here, just give up on him. I'm sure you can find someone else that can hold your hand. There must be hundreds of people other than that bastard that one could just fall from the sky at any mo-"
Lu Shin couldn't finish that sentence as a loud bang suddenly echoed out on the roof of the carriage. The ruins on the carriage lit up, but whatever hit them was so heavy that they completely shattered.
Following the loud crash, Lu Shin could be heard letting out a curse as the roof of the carriage came crashing down.
"Ugh."
Inside the carriage, Dai Hee groaned as he slowly got up.
"Bastard! You dare attack us!"
Immediately, Lu Shin pulled out his sword ready to hack Dai Hee into pieces.
"Stop! Wait! This-This isn't what it looks like!"
Seeing where he was, Dai Hee quickly went to explain what happened.
"I was flying in the sky when I lost consciousness for a moment and fell onto the carriage, I'm not here to attack you!"
"Huh? What bullshit! You expect me to believe a person simply falling from the sky can destroy the runes on this carriage meant to stop attacks from Core Formation Realm cultivators?! You must be one of those bastards I missed that's after my sister, stay right there I'll make sure to erase any thoughts you have about her."
Seeing that Lu Shin wasn't believing him, Dai Hee got desperate. He suddenly took two bright red Spirit Stones that were radiating strong Fire Qi fluctuations. No, wait, it was Spirit Stones but Divine Fire Spirit Stones!
"Look! I'll compensate you, these are two high-grade Fire Spirit Stones take it!"
Dai Hee said as he rushed to put one of them in Lu Shin's hands. He was first going to throw the stone away, but reason took over and he stared at the adult fist-size Divine Fire Spirit Stone in his hand with glee.
The cold he was complaining about was suddenly nonexistent thanks to this stone.
At the same time, Dai Hee turned to Lu Yue.
"Here, take it, I apologize for crashing into your carriage."
Dai Hee said as he practically pushed the stone into her hand.
At the same time as this happened, Lu Yue saw Dai Hee's sleeves shift a bit to reveal what looked to be human bite marks.
Dai Hee then turned back to Lu Shin and said with an apologetic look.
"Again, I didn't mean for this to happen so I apologize."
"Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah whatever, just get lost."
Lu Shin said before going back to marveling at the Divine Fire Spirit Stone.
Seeing this Dai Hee sighed in relief. He then turned to Lu Yue too and apologized.
"Young miss, I'm sorry for this mess, I'll be leaving now but I hope I didn't cause too much of an inconvenience to you."
Lu Yue looked at this person and said rather coldly.
"It's fine."
Dai Hee heard her cold tone and thought to himself.
'Do all the beautiful women from top powers act so coldly? Even the ones that visited the clan were all like this. Though I suppose it might be my fault this time for her coldness.'
Dai Hee bowed before he turned to exit the carriage. However, Lu Yue suddenly asked.
"Before you go, I'm curious, how did you get those bite marks on your hand."
Dai Hee then felt his right sleeve being pulled up.
"Ah! No!"
Dai Hee suddenly grabbed Lu Yue's to stop her from pulling up his sleeves any further. His reaction was quite violent.
Realizing this, Dai Hee quickly let go of Lu Yu's hand and nervously said.
"I-I apologize, I rather not talk about them. I'll take my leave now."
Dai Hee said before he quickly opened the carriage door and leaped into the air.
Inside the carriage, Lu Shin was no longer examining his Divine Fire Spirit Stone but was instead staring at where Dai Hee left in shock.
"How is he not dead?!"
Lu Shin suddenly blurted out.
Meanwhile, Lu Yue was looking down at her pale white hand Dai Hee grabbed with a blank expression.
Suddenly, Lu Shin began laughing.
"You see little sister! Who cares about that Second Prince?! You'll definitely find someone else so why cling to him when he has already left for the underworld? And they're so many of them that one actually fell from the sky!"
As Lu Shin said that, Lu Yue suddenly clenched her fist slightly.
"No, this is…"
….
…
..
Swoosh.
Dai Hee's figure flew through the sky at breakneck speeds. He soon stopped and lowered to the ground between two buildings.
After a moment, he came out fully clothed with a fur hood that slightly cover his face.
He headed across the street and to an Inn.
After showing his room key to the guards at the entrance he was let in. It didn't take him long to reach his room on the third floor and entered.
Immediately after entering, he dropped to the floor and struggled to go into a meditative position with his legs crossed.
"No, this is my choice, I refuse to be controlled by this anymore...Ugh!"
Dai Hee's face turned red and at this point, not only his soul fluctuations but his Qi fluctuations were also going berserk as well. It was the first time he resisted this much but he had to, or else he won't be able to leave this city.
However, even after an hour, he was still struggling to resist this desire. It almost feels like his soul was going to burst apart.
Waving his hands, Dai Hee took out several Medicinal pills used to heal and nourish the soul. He unhesitatingly swallowed them all, but even then the pain was only alleviated for a brief moment.
Inside his Sea of Conciseness, Dai Hee was examining his soul. It was nothing like an ordinary person's soul, it was merely fragmented pieces.
These numerous fragments were pulsating with a bright white light.
"No, damn it, just stop. STOP!!"
Dai Hee released a roar and at the same time, the white light the fragments were releasing increased to cover every inch of his Sea of Consciousness.
In the outside world, Dai Hee's body suddenly became slack and fell to the ground as he lost consciousness.
